"I am known for my critical eye and the fact that I'm typically not easy to please, but nothing about this place will disappoint! I am here to tell you that Casa Blanca II is a dream come true. This amazing home and impeccable setting provided one of the most memorable vacations I have ever had. The islanders will tell you to try the popular drink called 'Painkiller', so be sure to stop at the Gourmet Gallery in Havensight marina and pick up the ingredients so you can whip one up when you arrive at this dream house and offer a toast to the best choice house in paradise!!"Guest: Dd Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 21, 2014View listing
"The home was great, wrap around deck overlooking the Caribbean was fantastic. We were even able to see St. Croix and Vieques on a few of the days from the deck. You get privacy and convenience to Charlotte Amalie and Redhook. Karen was easy to work with and Joma was very helpful when needed. The home was everything we needed. We would recommend this home! I would recommend renting a car, we were happy we had one."Guest: Chris H. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 25, 2014View listing
"My boyfriend and I traveled to STT for our babymoon in March 2014 (5 nights). We stayed at the Morningstar Villa Efficiency Suite and LOVED every minute there. Perfect for a couple. It was clean, beautiful, comfortable and easy to locate and the Brownings were very helpful and made us feel right at home during our stay. The view is lovely. We rented a Jeep and found this to be a great way to get around and explore the island. Would love to come back. We hope to take a trip on Mr. Browning's boat next time we visit. Would highly recommend this place- better than we expected!"Guest: Emily C. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: June 20, 2014View listing
"Where to start? This is our 2nd stay at #263122 and 2nd year in a row visiting STT. The condo was perfect as remembered. Sue & Joe have gone above and beyond to provide a comfortable, relaxing environment with every amenity available. There's a guest book in which I ended up writing a 3 page monologue this year :) We ate at Mim's, literally steps away from the door, twice. In the past year there has been a Walgreen's built which was great when I forgot my baby's shampoo and am picky about which ones I like (they sold Just Hatched, Burt's Bees, Babyganics, etc.). This condo is literally 10 mins from the ferry and 10 minutes from downtown. It's maybe at most 15 from the airport. It's so centralized that nothing is a far drive. We found the best bargains for food at Cost U Less, again 10 minutes away. Iggies is an awesome beach bar and there's a full lineup on the beach of VERY reasonably priced watersport rentals. We loved paddleboarding and kayaking. Lobster Grille is great for breakfast. 3 restaurants on site, 3 pools, one of which you can see the cruise ships leave at night. Buck Island is 3 miles south and in plain view. The view is amazing!!!! The condo is fully stocked with pool toys, snorkel gear, towels, pots and pans, food storage containers, a blender, small toaster oven, electric range, & microwave. There is a cooler (both large and small) and ice packs in the freezer to make lunches for beach trips. There is a keyless entry deadbolt as well as a regular lock so if you just want to run to the pool real quick, you can go keyless (it is battery operated though, so don't rely solely on this for your whole trip). There is a safe to store valuables and a full sized-fridge. The Wi-Fi makes calling home through a smartphone app (I used Boss Revolution at 1.9 cents per minute to NJ) as well as checking websites a breeze. The cable comes in great and has all the channels you need if you want to sit back and watch at night. There are books and games for a rainy day and laundry on site so you don't have to come home to piles of laundry. Sue has always kept great communication going & promptly returns your security providing you stick to the original terms of your rental agreement. We hope to return next year. We travel with our 15 year old, 14 year old and 2 year old and this condo fulfills every possible need while giving a nice sense of privacy. Thank you a million times over for sharing your home with us!! -The Johnson Family"Guest: Julie J. Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 23, 2014View listing
South Side Travel Tips
The Advantages of Staying at South Side St. Thomas Vacation Rentals
St. Thomas is a beautiful island in the Caribbean which is particularly popular as a cruise ship port destination. The capital of St. Thomas and also the U.S. Virgin Islands is Charlotte Amalie; it is well known for its unrivalled shopping, particularly for jewelry and precious stones.
St. Thomas has some of the most beautiful white sand beaches around its shores and the calm clear waters at Magens Bay are considered some of the best in the world for scuba diving.
Renting a vacation home at South Side St. Thomas often appeals to those who are enjoying a family vacation. With a relaxed lifestyle, it can be easier for those with children to stay independently rather than in a hotel. Vacation rentals have as many bedrooms and bathrooms as you require, making it easy for everyone to enjoy their own private space.
Vacation homes often have their own private swimming pool, sun terrace and gardens which are ideal for sitting out and enjoying breakfast before heading for the beach. An afternoon siesta for little ones is a great idea and much easier in a vacation rental home than in a resort.
Those looking for a romantic vacation or quiet honeymoon will also enjoy the privacy that a private villa affords. Comfortable, well located and fully equipped, vacation rentals are often the best way to enjoy your stay on St Thomas.
Things to do Around South Side St. Thomas Resort Rentals
Although most people think shopping in Charlotte Amalie or spending time on the beach are all that St. Thomas has to offer, there are a host of things to do for those who like to combine a little adventure with their travels.
There are beautiful panoramas from Drake’s Seat, Blackbeard’s Castle, the Tramway and other beauty spots around St Thomas. Charlotte Amalie has some interesting Colonial architecture, several museums and a large aquarium. The Seven Arches historic home is a pleasant attraction on Government Hill which incidentally you can climb up. The steps are known as 99 steps but if you count, you will find there are actually 103!
Getting to the Beautiful South Side St. Thomas Villas
The main airport serving St. Thomas is the Cyril E. King Airport to the west of Charlotte Amalie. It is very easy to get a taxi from the airport to your South Side vacation rental.
Direct flights are available from New York City and take three hours and 45 minutes while Miami has a shorter flight of just two hours and 30 minutes. Connecting flights via San Juan, Puerto Rico are available but they are generally more expensive.
American Airlines, Delta, Cape Air, United and Continental Airlines all fly direct to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Places to Visit Around St Thomas
A day in the busy capital city, Charlotte Amalie, is a must during your vacation. The red-roofed, whitewashed houses make a charming sight. As well as excellent shopping, the town has many historic sights. Fort Christian is an interesting 17th-century building which was constructed by the Danes. Indeed much of the island’s cultural past is reflected in its architecture with Spanish patios, Dutch-style doors, Danish red-tile roofs and French wrought iron grills.
A pleasant escape from the busy resorts on St. Thomas is available just a ferry-ride away on St. John which is a far more laid-back and uncommercial island. Take a taxi tour around the island or relax on Trunk Bay Beach.
Honeymoon Beach is a palm-shaded area offering excellent snorkeling, swimming, waterskiing and other beach activities. Take the ferry from Crown Bay Marina across to Water Island and enjoy a perfect day on the beach.
The Weather in St. Thomas, USVI
The island of St. Thomas enjoys almost perpetual summer weather all year-round. Temperatures remain fairly consistent throughout the year with July and August usually reaching the mid-80s F while December and January may be in the mid-70s F. Even the seas are a balmy 79 to 83 F!
