  • Truly a wonderful paradise!

"I stayed in this condo for 10 days with my girlfriend. It was her first visit to St. Thomas and we had a wonderful time. The condo is very clean and has plenty of blankets, towels and supplies. The kitchen is also well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The stove works very well. Whether you eat in or go out to any of the great restaurants in Redhook, you are assured of a pleasant stay. The property itself is well maintained and clean. Sapphire Beach is a short walk down hill and beautiful. The views from the balcony are breathtaking. The accommodations are very comfortable. Also having the washer and dryer in the unit was very convenient. The rental agents were pleasant and kept me informed of everything I needed to know. I would definitely rent this condo again and I highly recommend it!"

  • Great vacation, great resort, great owner

"Many thanks to Sharon and her family for shaing this great property with us. The reservation process was easy and Sharon was accessible via email to answer any questions I had leading up to our stay. We stayed at the resort from 7/12/14 - 7/19/14 -- the facility and setting are both absolutely beautiful. This is a truly execptional resort and the units are spacious and very nicely appointed. Parking was fairly easy for our rental car. The pools are large and not freezing cold (like many in the Caribbean), the one by the destination club runs from 3-5ft deep while the one by the hotel starts at about 1ft and gets to 5ft deep, so both were good for our 4yo. There are also a handful of kiddie pools and an adults only pool on the property. The restaurants on the property are good but pricey. We had a few good dinners in nearby Red Hook and used the kitchen in the unit extensively for breakfast and lunch. Watersports are available at the hotel for a reasonable fee. It was a great way to sample a wide range of activites (snorkel, paddle board, hobie cat, peddle boat, wind surfing, kayaking). The fitness center would qualify as a very nice hotel gym and had a good selection of cardio and weight equipment. It was just an overall great experience."

  • Incredible views, Cozy condo & an Amazing vacation

"Two of my girlfriends and I just got back from staying at this condo in the Virgin Islands for Spring Break. We had the most incredible vacation ever and our living space had a huge hand in it. The condo is right on the beautiful Sapphire beach with crystal white sand and aqua blue waters. The patio is so great to eat breakfast on or just to enjoy the sound of the ocean and breeze at night. There were times when I had to force my friends to leave the apartment so we could go explore the island because they were so attached to the place The pictures are very true to the actual space and the condo is very cozy. The snorkeling on our beach was awesome because there was a lot of coral on the beach and we saw so many different types of fish. What we absolutely loved about the Sapphire Beach was its location and its close proximity to the town of Red Hook. We were less than half a mile away from town, we walked a couple of times or took the dollar cab from the top of the hill. Kirk, the owner, was very helpful in answering all our questions and we had a very comfortable stay. We got back from vacation less than a week ago and we are already planning our next Spring Break trip back here. I would recommend this place to all my friends and my family (I already have). Happy Vacation Everyone!"

  • Wish we were still there!

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Far Niente in January 2015. We were a family of four including two adult children. The description and photos matched the reality we found. While parts of the Sapphire Beach resort are in various stages of remodeling, this villa looked fresh and new and was very nicely decorated. The view from the decks is breathtaking at times, with sunrises and moonrises over St. John and the BVI a special highlight, not to mention the many shades of blue in the water directly in front of the villa with coral reefs all around. We enjoyed other beaches on St. Thomas but we thought the sandy part of Sapphire was the best beach for swimming and snorkeling. An added bonus of staying at Villa Far Niente was that Mike provided complete sets of snorkeling gear and recommendations on good viewing spots (we did see turtles and rays right where he said to look). The Banana Cabana offered wonderful drinks right off the beach and it is well worth the walk up the hill to the Off the Grid barbecue truck for excellent food and beautiful views from their picnic tables. Mike’s package of information which we received ahead of our stay was extremely helpful in our planning for our week at Sapphire Beach. His restaurant recommendations are excellent though truth be told we ended up going to Latitude 18 for three meals during our week due to the laid back environment and great music. Not an easy drive but not as daunting as some folks make it out to be. The passenger and auto ferries to St. John are very close by in Red Hook (though sadly not walkable due to lack of sidewalks and dangerous traffic!) and a trip over there is worth taking. The auto ferry in particular offers an adventure right from the start with the free for all loading process where you back on to the ferry! Once on St. John the adventure continues as the narrow and hilly roads lead you to a number of beautiful beaches—but be careful of wandering cows and sheep in the road! We recommend Salt Pond Bay for swimming and snorkeling and the walk out to Drunken Bay for the view (no swimming there—very rough). As mentioned, Red Hook is close by and if you don’t have a car or don’t want to drive there are cabs available right at the resort. Lots of good restaurants and bars there, with Duffy’s Love Shack worth a visit for fun drinks and a laid back atmosphere. Overall a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to go back!"
