"The condo was very clean and nicely furnished with a comfortable bed & well-equipped kitchen. Norma, who is the on-site property manager, was very helpful and pleasant. The condo is about 100 feet from beautiful Sapphire Beach."Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: June 2, 2014View listing
"I would highly recommend this wonderful condo to anyone! It was very comfortable and clean!! Did spend the evenings out at the pool or on the patio just watching the little local ducks, hermit crabs, lizards, (big and small), and having the winds and surf sounds,,,truly wonderful! Hope to go back some day soon! I also experienced driving on left side of rode,,,was weird, but fun. My best friend flew from Washington State, myself from Ohio, we stayed for 8 days, had a great girlfriend time! Just want to say thanks to you Cheri for the best 8 days!!! P.s. the lady who takes care of things for you there,,,she was great! Thanks again!"Guest: Darlene Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 13, 2014View listing
"My family of four (including 13- and 9-year olds) enjoyed a blissful week-long stay at Villa Papillon. Hosts Linda and Mike are very friendly and informative, and happy to help with advice and recommendations. They are close by, so you don't have to worry about inattentive or nonexistent homeowners not returning phone calls. But they will offer you your privacy. Linda cheerfully met us at a supermarket after we stocked up on supplies, and drove us through the twists and turns (and inclines!) of the roads on the mountains of St. Thomas. The gorgeous home is located in a gated community in Peterborg, which is on the peninsula that encloses Magen's Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (5 minutes away - no exaggeration). She and Mike have maintained the property nicely: the beauty of the views can not be overstated. The home is just like the pictures, perhaps even more beautiful because you cannot appreciate the comfortable layout in the photos. The home is remote and peaceful, and we didn't hear or even see neighbors unless we took out the binoculars. We grilled every day while still being able to be together in the pool/hot tub area on deck. We found a well-stocked kitchen with top of the line appliances. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms, though a bit dated, were clean and very functional with ample storage. The home is decorated like a real home, not like a soulless rental. We went to Magen's Bay almost every day (we swam with a giant turtle there), but also made trips to Sapphire and Coki bays for better snorkeling. Be aware: parking is sketchy at Coki, and the surrounding areas are sort of rundown. But fish and coral are plentiful. When we return to USVI, we will stay here again. We didn't even have to worry about mosquitos- the gentle breezes keep them away. Thanks LInda and Mike for a wonderful week!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 18, 2014View listing
"I stayed at Jennifer's condo for three nights as part of a girls vacation. The condo was clean and well maintained and looked like the photos! The kitchen was well stocked even though we didn't do any cooking. Bathroom is beautiful and two sinks made it very nice to get ready in the evenings. We loved the patio and the sound of the ocean. The unit overlooks a pool that looks as if renovating around it has been started but not ever completed. The unit is close to the town of redhook but the road to get there is a little too scary to walk on so we took taxis all the time. We ate at Fish tails and Reverly which were both very good restaurants! We were told there is no longer a grocery market in red hook which was slightly disappointing since we didn't want to travel very far just to buy some cereal. The beach at sapphire is very nice although we ended up taking taxis to Megan's bay and Coki beach and didn't get to spend much time at our own. I would recommend renting a car! The condo is easily accessible to drive to and parking was ample, and cabs get very expensive! We took the breakaway new horizons boat tour which left from sapphire marina and it was a great time! I have a few comments/ suggestions for the owner... I have stayed at many other vrbo loactions and most of them provide more details and instructions surrounding their property in regards to entry and any tips/ tricks navigating the island that may be useful to know. . A little "welcome folder" would be a nice touch. We did not try to rent snorkel equipment from the beach but we did use, what was in the closet...the snorkel tubes leak and should be replaced. There is a safe in the condo but we could not get it to work, we called the property manager who told me that it had been broken for 2 years. A lot of travelers feel more secure with a spot to store their valuables. I was at sapphire beach 11 years ago and I feel like this beach has a bit of a run down feeling to it since my last visit. The tennis courts are in disrepair and I am curious to know how long the beach building has been undergoing renovations? I will say that Building D has a fresh coat of varnish on all of the decks and railings which make it look so much more appealing then the buildings that haven't been painted yet. I did see workers sweeping the beach and cleaning the pool area every morning which was nice! St. Thomas is a beautiful island and Sapphire Beach is a very good location in my opinion! Choose this unit!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 21, 2014View listing
