  • Great vacation, great resort, great owner

"Many thanks to Sharon and her family for shaing this great property with us. The reservation process was easy and Sharon was accessible via email to answer any questions I had leading up to our stay. We stayed at the resort from 7/12/14 - 7/19/14 -- the facility and setting are both absolutely beautiful. This is a truly execptional resort and the units are spacious and very nicely appointed. Parking was fairly easy for our rental car. The pools are large and not freezing cold (like many in the Caribbean), the one by the destination club runs from 3-5ft deep while the one by the hotel starts at about 1ft and gets to 5ft deep, so both were good for our 4yo. There are also a handful of kiddie pools and an adults only pool on the property. The restaurants on the property are good but pricey. We had a few good dinners in nearby Red Hook and used the kitchen in the unit extensively for breakfast and lunch. Watersports are available at the hotel for a reasonable fee. It was a great way to sample a wide range of activites (snorkel, paddle board, hobie cat, peddle boat, wind surfing, kayaking). The fitness center would qualify as a very nice hotel gym and had a good selection of cardio and weight equipment. It was just an overall great experience."

"This was truly the most amazing trip ever. Everything was perfect. The room is spacious size to fit 4 people comfortably, it was clean and the view from the large balcony is incredible overlooking all of St. Thomas! King Bed, pull out couch, broom w/ a waterfall shower & a full kitchen. Staff is very friendly w/ free shuttles all day! Not only is the room great, but Point Pleasent Resort is in the BEST location in St. Thomas. Red Hook is only a few miles away which is a town close by with several restaurants and bars and also is where ferry is to take to St John ( only 15 min) ! We went to Red Hook 4-5 times while we were on our 8 day trip. Favorite restaurants there are Island Time Pub ( best pizza around) ; Fish Tails ( delicious seafood); Tap & Still ( yummy/cheap made to order burgers ) & Molly Molones ( great breakfast burritos wrapped in pancakes! ). There is also an amazing more expensive seafood restaurant we went to called Mims a Seafood Bistro. It's directly on the beach in Balongo Bay in St. Thomas. We had a 10 pound Carribean Lobster! The beaches in St. Thomas are gorgeous. A few favorites that we visited were Sugar Bay Beach, Magen's Bay and Coki Beach. While at Coki Beach, order the fresh fruit smoothies ! (with rum of course! ) We took the ferry to St. John one day and that is a must. The town is fun & has a lot of restaurants, beach bars & even a small casino. A few of the beaches we went to in St. John were Magen's Bay, Cinnanmon bay Beach and Trunk Bay. Bring $for cabs to each beach. Only about $5 each but they don't take CC. All beaches weree gorgeous & water is crystal clear everywhere. Snorkeling is the best at Trunk Bay ! Make sure to do some water activities ! We parasailed over St. Thomas and the views were incredible. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera up there !! Our favorite part of the trip by far was taking the ferry to St. John and then hopping on a chartered Catamaran to the British Virgin Islands(need passport)- the most breathtaking beaches we have ever seen. Our boat went to Great Harbour Beach & Jost Van Dyke (our favorite). Go to famous Soggy Dollar Bar there & get a painkiller drink with fresh nutmeg on top :) All in all, we promise a relaxing, yet fun filled adventurous trip if you come stay at Point Pleasant in this unit. We absolutely cannot wait to go back ! Thank you to the owners Alison & Roy for giving us the opportunity for this unforgettable trip! We are forever grateful! Amanda"

  • Very Happy!!!!

"In a nutshell our stay was great. Our room was very nice and clean. Plenty of room for 4 of us. View was great along with the trade winds at night. Loved sitting outside at night watching the boats head to and from St. John. The beach itself is really great for snorkeling and just relaxing along with some rocks for searching for star fish etc. There seemed to be at one time a bar at the pool but it is now shut down whichs makes it very quiet. Would have been nice for some night life. Van was very pleasant to talk to and answer any questions we had. The listing tells it like it is no surprises. Keep in mind this is not like going to a five star hotel but if you want peace and quiet and and being right on the beach with great views this is the place for you. Highly recomended."

  • If you like the beach, this is the place!

"I won’t repeat all the positive comments so far, but can confirm they’re all true. Greg has a great, clean little place here and you can’t beat the location. He’s stocked a good supply of books if it’s just a few days on the beach catching a tan, and if you didn’t bring your own gear, he’s got a good stash of snorkel gear in the closet. Another huge plus, the snorkeling is fantastic here right off the beach. Our routine: wake up, snorkel, eat lunch, lie in the sun, snorkel, lie in the sun with a cocktail, hit the pool, head into town to find dinner – repeat 5 times. For some time out on the water, along with Greg’s recommendations for charters, I’ll add Yacht Nightwind which is also just across the parking lot in the marina. If you don’t rent a car, be sure to get a cab to take you the ¾ mile into Red Hook (cabs are not a problem here), stop in at Island Time Pub, split a salad and some wings and take home a 16” pizza for breakfast. Food Center also has some good roasted chicken as well as some local favorite dishes. We had a great time Greg, thanks for the perfect week. Be back in a couple months."
