  • Clean Condo, Great Views

"I stayed at Jennifer's condo for three nights as part of a girls vacation. The condo was clean and well maintained and looked like the photos! The kitchen was well stocked even though we didn't do any cooking. Bathroom is beautiful and two sinks made it very nice to get ready in the evenings. We loved the patio and the sound of the ocean. The unit overlooks a pool that looks as if renovating around it has been started but not ever completed. The unit is close to the town of redhook but the road to get there is a little too scary to walk on so we took taxis all the time. We ate at Fish tails and Reverly which were both very good restaurants! We were told there is no longer a grocery market in red hook which was slightly disappointing since we didn't want to travel very far just to buy some cereal. The beach at sapphire is very nice although we ended up taking taxis to Megan's bay and Coki beach and didn't get to spend much time at our own. I would recommend renting a car! The condo is easily accessible to drive to and parking was ample, and cabs get very expensive! We took the breakaway new horizons boat tour which left from sapphire marina and it was a great time! I have a few comments/ suggestions for the owner... I have stayed at many other vrbo loactions and most of them provide more details and instructions surrounding their property in regards to entry and any tips/ tricks navigating the island that may be useful to know. . A little "welcome folder" would be a nice touch. We did not try to rent snorkel equipment from the beach but we did use, what was in the closet...the snorkel tubes leak and should be replaced. There is a safe in the condo but we could not get it to work, we called the property manager who told me that it had been broken for 2 years. A lot of travelers feel more secure with a spot to store their valuables. I was at sapphire beach 11 years ago and I feel like this beach has a bit of a run down feeling to it since my last visit. The tennis courts are in disrepair and I am curious to know how long the beach building has been undergoing renovations? I will say that Building D has a fresh coat of varnish on all of the decks and railings which make it look so much more appealing then the buildings that haven't been painted yet. I did see workers sweeping the beach and cleaning the pool area every morning which was nice! St. Thomas is a beautiful island and Sapphire Beach is a very good location in my opinion! Choose this unit!"

  • Family Vacation: St Thomas Style

"We made our reservation via a mgr (Deb who partly owns one of the condos) who said that everything would be taken care of. While the Ritz Carlton Club was beautiful and worth all the hassles, I wish I would have made our reservations via VRBO. We paid Deb as soon as we found the condo and we did not have a confirmation until TWO WEEKS prior to our stay! She would not take a credit card and made us use "Pay Pal", instead of one of the 3 credit cards we had. Any way , her lack of communication skills aside the Ritz Carlton Club was perfect for our family vacation! My husband, our daughter and her husband and their 3 kids all had a great time! We even chartered a power boat and took a day trip over to St Johns! It is a family style place, not a romantic getaway. There are too many young children and teenagers even at the hotel and even when my husband and I slipped off to celebrate our anniversary, there were toddlers in the high end restaurant at 10:00 PM So, leave your elegant clothes at home and plan on relaxing with your family. Make your reservations here and not with an owner. The Ritz Carlton Club treats you like royalty. Be prepared, because the airport is a different story. You would never believe we are all American Citizens. On the flight in was fair. Returning to Florida was AWFUL!"

  • MOST AMAZING RELAXING TRIP I HAVE EVER BEEN ON !

"This was truly the most amazing trip ever. Everything was perfect. The room is spacious size to fit 4 people comfortably, it was clean and the view from the large balcony is incredible overlooking all of St. Thomas! King Bed, pull out couch, broom w/ a waterfall shower & a full kitchen. Staff is very friendly w/ free shuttles all day! Not only is the room great, but Point Pleasent Resort is in the BEST location in St. Thomas. Red Hook is only a few miles away which is a town close by with several restaurants and bars and also is where ferry is to take to St John ( only 15 min) ! We went to Red Hook 4-5 times while we were on our 8 day trip. Favorite restaurants there are Island Time Pub ( best pizza around) ; Fish Tails ( delicious seafood); Tap & Still ( yummy/cheap made to order burgers ) & Molly Molones ( great breakfast burritos wrapped in pancakes! ). There is also an amazing more expensive seafood restaurant we went to called Mims a Seafood Bistro. It's directly on the beach in Balongo Bay in St. Thomas. We had a 10 pound Carribean Lobster! The beaches in St. Thomas are gorgeous. A few favorites that we visited were Sugar Bay Beach, Magen's Bay and Coki Beach. While at Coki Beach, order the fresh fruit smoothies ! (with rum of course! ) We took the ferry to St. John one day and that is a must. The town is fun & has a lot of restaurants, beach bars & even a small casino. A few of the beaches we went to in St. John were Magen's Bay, Cinnanmon bay Beach and Trunk Bay. Bring $for cabs to each beach. Only about $5 each but they don't take CC. All beaches weree gorgeous & water is crystal clear everywhere. Snorkeling is the best at Trunk Bay ! Make sure to do some water activities ! We parasailed over St. Thomas and the views were incredible. Make sure to bring a waterproof camera up there !! Our favorite part of the trip by far was taking the ferry to St. John and then hopping on a chartered Catamaran to the British Virgin Islands(need passport)- the most breathtaking beaches we have ever seen. Our boat went to Great Harbour Beach & Jost Van Dyke (our favorite). Go to famous Soggy Dollar Bar there & get a painkiller drink with fresh nutmeg on top :) All in all, we promise a relaxing, yet fun filled adventurous trip if you come stay at Point Pleasant in this unit. We absolutely cannot wait to go back ! Thank you to the owners Alison & Roy for giving us the opportunity for this unforgettable trip! We are forever grateful! Amanda"
