  • Unique Island Living

"We stayed here during Christmas week 2014. An escort met us at the airport at the appointed time and guided us to the villa. Peterborg is a very nice quiet area. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood and out to the Point. What a beautiful view! The villa is about 20 minutes from Red Hook. Once we got use to driving island style it wasn't bad. The roads are steep and the driveway does require a two point turn but the rental minivan got the job done. The villa is as pictured. It was pleasant to leave the screen doors open and listen to the water. We relaxed in the hammock each day. It was fun to watch the hummingbirds and butterflies flutter in the bushes. We did not cook in the villa but the kitchen seemed to be well stocked. We did use the snorkel equipment. It was nice to not have to rent gear for the week. Having beach towels and a cooler provided were also appreciated. The sun deck was most pleasant with an unobstructed view of the Bay. The villa is stocked with a few board games, DVDs, lots of books and CDs. As another reviewer mentioned, there is another building that is a part of the complex but not included in the rental. This unit does have a view of the rental's outdoor deck and pool area. It was empty during our stay. If renting again, I would inquire if this building would be occupied. The owner responded to email and phone calls quickly and answered all our questions. There are two reasons I did not rate the property five stars. The lower bedroom smelled a bit musty. There was a dehumidifier in the room but it was broken. Running the AC helped. Also, there are motion sensor lights on the lower level that did not always operate. It was difficult to navigate the steps in the dark. Overall, this villa is a great value. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again."

  • Fantastic Stay in the "Mango Room"

"I stayed in the Mango Room at Villa Marbella in mid September and had a fantastic time! Gunner and Leah are the best people you could ask for and the dogs are fun too. I was visiting my teenage daughter and really just need a small room that was safe and clean and the Mango room at Villa Marbella was perfect. The nightly rate was extremely reasonable and helped keep my trip affordable. The pictures of the room are exactly what you get – small but super cozy, safe, clean, everything you need. In fact we were the only people there for the last 4 days of my stay and Leah generously offered to move us to a larger room (at no charge by the way) and my daughter said no, she preferred the Mango room since it was cozier. The room has a dorm-sized fridge, microwave and a hot plate type appliance, suitable for a single pan. Pans, silverware and cups were provided as was a Keurig and coffee. We had oatmeal, cereal, and sandwiches during the day and usually grabbed something out in the evening. The pool was lovely and the grounds as well. We rented a jeep from them; which was a great decision. I arrived late in the evening and having them pick me up as a service included with car rental, was a great decision on my part. The roads are pretty steep and twisting and trying to find my way in the dark might have been tricky. Having them pick me up made it super easy. I just can’t say enough about Gunner and Leah and their staff, Jack, Lexi and Jager the dogs and the Villa Marbella experience. As one last anecdote, the day I was leaving I logged into my bank account and noticed that a local grocery store had charge me $111.00 when my bill was actually $11 (big difference!) I asked Gunner about it and he was immediately on the phone with the store owner and took care of everything securing me accredit of the $100 overcharge. It was all arranged before my plane even landed back in the US. Thank you!"

  • Wonderful condo, spectacular on water view!

"Thoroughly enjoyed a five night stay in January 2015. Made great use out of kitchen and amenities (electric cooking grill, blender, coffee maker, porch looking out to St. John). Loaded up with groceries and supplies at Food Center (just past Red Hook area), but also enjoyed dining in Red Hook. Owner (Mark) was very pleasant, responsive, and keeps unit in great shape. We definitely would stay again!"

  • Amazing anniversary

"My wife and I traveled to St Thomas for our anniversary and stayed in the studio of this property. Let's just say the pictures and descriptions do not do justice! It's the most beautiful place I have ever seen! Very well managed as well. Of all the activities we did on the island, our favorite was the swimming and snorkling on the private beach at this property. We are already planning next years anniversary trip back here! Thanks again to Gordon and Annika for sharing this piece of heaven!"
