  • Perfect Home Base for Your Island Adventures

"Blue Sky is a wonderful home base for your trip to the Virgin Islands. It sits on Ridge Road, overlooking Vessup Bay off the back porch with views of the Caribbean out the front door and across the street. The neighborhood is quiet, with only the occasional traffic passing on the way to or from the Secret Harbor beach and resort just down the hill. While the drive back downtown is quick, you will also be minutes away from the Red Hook ferry terminal and easy access to many other islands. You will find the house clean, secure, and well equipped. With a full kitchen (including a nicely stocked spice pantry) and a grocery store just minutes away, you do not need to rely on restaurant food if you do not want to. There are appropriate security features but the area is so safe and quiet that they must simply be there almost exclusively for deterrence. Joanie was 100% honest and cordial in her dealings. She was helpful and available without being intrusive, and she gave generously of her local knowledge. She even provided us an excellent reference for a babysitter. Rent Blue Sky with confidence. Specific tips: If you can take your eyes off the harbor, spend some time studying the trees below the back porch. You might just find an iguana or two soaking up some sun. Ludy's Place is a food truck that is parked to the left of the Food Center parking lot as you look at it from the road. The ladies there serve up delicious food at a reasonable price. It was so good we ate there twice. Check the cruise ship schedules online. While we were there, Saturday was a no-cruise-ship day so we ventured downtown to walk around. We stumbled onto a great open-air market and got to enjoy a small taste of callaloo while listening to one of the great Caribbean sounds: Men playing dominos and arguing about it. I rarely feel so happily far from home."

  • Elysian in Cowpet Bay St Thomas

"We spent 10 days at the Elysian thanks to Pat & Glenn Bevak and our time there was both relaxing and demystified due to Pat & Glenn's conscientiousness, helpful Island hints and recommendations. While there are always uncertainties when you travel abroad, they made our stay seemless so that our condo was literally a home away from home. Thanks again, Pat & Glenn. Larry & Dianna"

  • Spring Break in Paradise 2015

"Came with my wife and 2 kids (son 15, daughter 17) Easter/Passover week after spending many years at the Marriott's Surf Club in Aruba. The two bedroom suite was great, and the kids each had a queen bed and therefore did not have to fight over a sofa bed. We were able to get good seats by the pool as long as we went down before 8, and no one gave us a problem when we left our towels and other stuff to hold our chairs. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the grounds were clean and nice. The resort was very mellow and relaxing, and the crowd was almost all families. There were daily activities by the pool for kids and adults, as well as daily happy hour specialties. There is access by shuttle or by walking path to the Marriott Frenchman's Reef, where there is a spa and other amenities. There is also shuttle service to Havana Blue, the Sand Bar and one other restaurant at the Morning Star Beach Resort just down the road. I would recommend renting a car, which gives you the flexibility to explore the island and to go to some different beaches and restaurants you might not want to take a cab to. Hard to say if taking taxis everywhere would have been the same as I paid for my rental car, but we were glad we did it. We also rented a mini van, which I would not recommend given the hills and crazy driving on the island. Better off renting a jeep. All in all, great relaxing vacation, would highly recommend St. Thomas and Frenchman's Cove."

  • Magen's Valley Inn

"I must say that our stay, albeit short... Was wonderful. Leslie was continually in contact with me. Even when I had some difficulties with my travel plans. She and her husband werewarm, thoughtful and inviting hosts. They went out of their way to ensure we had a nice stay. This place was fantastic with a lovely kitchen (evertyhing we needed), a very comfortable bedroom, a nice sized shower and a wonderful screened indoor/outdoor room. We loved having our breakfast outside on the patio. These people are A++. Very highly recommended. Lastly, it was very very clean. :)"
