  • Always hard to leave

"We are frequent visitors to STT and have stayed at Sapphire Beach in various condos over the past 10 years. We truly enjoyed our visit here this year and never want to go home!! The condo is comfortable with everything there to make you few welcomed. We didn't have any problems settling in, threw on our bathing suits and got in the water the afternoon we arrived! The beach is as beautiful as ever, views from the porch to die for, the changing colors of the sky and water and a full moon to boot- couldn't ask for more!! The best part is the condo owner Greg who was very gracious and patient in dealing with constant snags in our plans. We thank him for being so understanding. The resort itself is undergoing some changes ... this does not affect the pleasures of swimming ,snorkeling or being a beach chair potato. We rented a car which gives you the freedom to explore some of the other beaches but you really never have to leave the place. If rest and relaxation is needed, this is the spot. But you can always find something to do. The Marina is just around the corner for day sails, dinner cruises, diving or just walking around the boat deck. Come on down, you wont be disappointed!!!!"

  • Outstanding Room!!!!

"Okay, it's only taken 6 months to post a room report, but here goes... We have visited St. Thomas every year since 1999. We have stayed at various resorts & last year decided to try Point Pleasant when we saw a video clip of room E6. The video was not deceiving. E6 was clean and a very functional room with galley kitchen, all of the glass wear, utensils, dishes, pots & pans, dining table and, sitting area. The deck had a table & 2 lounge chairs to take in the view. Our flight from Chicago was delayed and, by the time we arrived at Point Pleasant, it was dark & raining. We were not able to see much from the deck at that time, but in the morning we were treated to a gorgeous view. We were very pleased with the idea of NOT needing much air conditioning. We would set the AC timer for about 1 hr when we returned at days end. With the help of ceiling fans, we were very comfortable through the night after the AC turned off. Once watching the sunrise on our 1st day, we made it a point to wake early, open 2 of the 3 sliding glass doors and, listen to the waves crashing against the shore line a short distance below, while enjoying a wonderful cross breeze flowing through the room. We left the sliders open until we reluctantly closed them when we left the room to visit friends and explore the island. The grounds at the resort have some very steep hills, but from the room, it was a short walk down to a very small, private beach area tucked against the hillside. Just outside of the room door, walking down a few more stairs will take you to the well kept pool...very refreshing on a hot day! During our trip, the restaurant and bar just below the pool were closed as they were remodeling for the new owners to reopen shortly after we returned home. The other restaurant on the property was not open and, we are unsure if they have since reopened. We are familiar with the island and know of many restaurants where we go to eat so, this did not present a problem except for the first evening. We arrived a bit late, we were hungry and, tired. We did not feel like going back out so, we did as you would do at home...call to have a pizza delivered! No problems!!! We truly love St. Thomas & the islanders. We were thrilled with "our" room last year, so were very excited to find out it was open for rental again this year! We are now counting down the days until we return to the island and, yes, staying at Point Pleasant in room E6!!!"

  • Fantastic getaway

"My husband and I honeymooned at Sea Glass at Sapphire Beach during mid-September, and it was a beautiful experience. We rented snorkel gear from the resort's dive shop for the entire week and had so much fun just walking out the door each morning to swim with the fish, rays, and (our favorite) sea turtles! I loved being so close to the water, and it was incredibly relaxing sitting on the spacious porch to read a good book. I often caught myself simply staring off into the water or across the way to beautiful St. John. September is technically the "off season," and I was a little concerned about the weather, but we had no issues at all. It rained VERY briefly for about 5-10 minutes each day, which is pretty standard beach weather. Otherwise, it was all sunny skies. The island was pretty quiet, which suited us just fine. We had a blast going into Red Hook for dinner (or to catch a couple football games). Everyone was extremely friendly. We took the Safari taxis around ($1 fare pp) as much as possible, but they only run during daylight hours. Otherwise, normal taxis are extremely accessible. Most of our time was spent around the condo and resort area relaxing, but we took a couple of excursions. Highly recommend the Bad Kitty day cruise to see quite a few spots around the islands and see some beaches it would be difficult to get to otherwise. We finally went to St. John our last day, and I wish we had gone sooner! We had SO much fun renting a Jeep and cruising around the exotic island. The condo was very comfortable and had everything we could have needed. We picked up some supplies at the Kmart and had snacks, coffee, and a couple meals around the place. Highly recommend Sea Glass at Sapphire! Already dreaming of going back one day."

  • Excellent Villa, great view!

"Carolyn was extremely accomadating...my party had a great time here! The villa is comfertable and clean. The property is a little out the way and the hills are insane. YOU MUST GET A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE! We traded in our Ford Focus after the first day for a Jeep, big difference, especially in the rain. I would definitely come back."
