  • We Loved Slow Mocean

"My husband and I love to travel with our two young children. This house and island were the perfect vacation. We think it might have been one of the best vacations ever. The Island is safe, un-populated and beautiful. Beth, the owner, was accessible and friendly and answered all of our questions before we arrived. We arrived on St Thomas by plane and called the property manager of Slow Mocean and let him know which ferry we would be arriving on. He and his wife met us at the dock and helped us get our family, luggage and groceries up to the house and gave us a quick tour and then left us with keys to the house and golf cart. From the moment we stepped foot on Water Island everything was easy and laid back. The house is beautifully furnished in a comfortable island style with great art. The two bedrooms are adjoined by a large Jack-n-Jill bathroom. Both bedrooms had nice furniture and very comfortable beds. The Living Room has a set of huge glass doors that looks out over St. Thomas. You truly can not grasp how serene and beautiful the view from the deck is from pictures. I drank my coffee out there every morning and enjoyed dinner and wine out there every night. The island is very easy to explore by golf cart. We explored several beaches, but Honeymoon was by far the best. We would go early in the morning and stake our claim to one of the umbrellas and put our cooler and lounge chairs out for the day. We stayed at the beach from 8-4 everyday. This would normally seem impossible with two children ages 6 and 8 but it was dreamy. The water is as clear as a swimming pool with no current or waves. You can see down the entire beach from any spot so the children could swim and roam and swing on rope swings. We ate lunch at Heidi's several times. Her food is fresh and delicious. We snorkeled with Sea Turtles and pretty fish all right within the swimming area of the beach. We met several other families who were on the island and hung out with them during the day and had dinner parties in the evening. A couple things to know- Cruise ships bring day excursions over to Honeymoon beach. They only stay for an hour or so but it can get crowded. If you get your spot early enough to get a free lounge chair from one of the bars they are not an issue and actually provide good entertainment.Lastly, before we went we thought we would need to leave Water Island to go on excursions to other islands so we wouldn't be bored. Not true. Don't plan anything. Just relax and enjoy!"

  • Close to Honeymoon

"Villa Acquabella is great for families with children - pool on site, laundry, wifi, large kitchen, golf cart, and very close to Honeymoon Beach and the ferry landing. We had some beautiful family dinners outside by the pool overlooking St. Thomas. We will be back next year!"

  • Best Christmas Ever

"My husband, son, and I were lucky enough to spend a week here over Christmas. The cottage is a great place for a small family -- the porch has two futons for kids, and the parents can sleep in the bed. With a large, screened-in wraparound porch you feel like you're sleeping in a jungle treehouse. My son had the time of his life on Water Island: turtles everywhere, riding in the provided golf cart (!), swimming at Honeymoon, eating at Heidi's. The cottage had a washer/dryer which was perfect for us light packers. Could not recommend this spot more for families with kids or honeymooners! We can't wait to go back."

  • Can't Wait to Visit Again!

"If I could sum our stay on Water Island up in one word, it would be amazing. The accommodations at Windswept were wonderful. We never got tired of the views. What a great way to wake up in the morning! Having my morning coffee while looking out at St. Thomas and St. John in the distance, sure beats my normal routine of drinking my morning coffee while sitting in traffic. We had everything we needed, and more. I cook a lot, as I have dietary restrictions, and found the kitchen to be very well stocked. It was great to have such wonderful property managers, as well. Doug and Rachel were great and very quick to help us with anything that we needed while we were there. Karen was also extremely helpful before we went. I always have a million questions about everything, and she was excellent at thoroughly answering me in a very timely manner. My husband and I have traveled to many different places and have visited numerous Caribbean destinations. This was by far our favorite. We like to vacation somewhere one time only so that we can experience new places, but we are already planning another visit to Water Island. We have never visited somewhere before where we felt so welcomed and relaxed. The community on Water Island is wonderful and close knit. The activities on the beach during the day and at night were plenty of entertainment for us, (4 adults in their 30's). Dinghy's has beach games such as cornhole, and ladderball to play on the beach, which we definitely took advantage of. The Monday night movie at Heidi's was great, as well. Since I can't eat much, I didn't partake in eating at the beach, but the rest of my party ate quite a few meals at Dinghy's and Heidi's, and loved everything they had. All in all, we had a great trip, and a great stay in a beautiful condo. Many thanks to the owners for allowing others to share in the delight of being "Windswept"."
