  • Simply Spectacular

"The quality of the materials and construction accompanied by an outstanding variety of plants and unparalleled views is more than anyone would expect but you can have all of that and more at Villa Tamarindo. Mr. Rees and his caretaker Elias have done everything they could do to create a magical place to use as a base to explore an amazing little country. We were so impressed with everything that my wife and I have decided to retire to Costa Rica permanently. Regardless the duration of your stay, should you be lucky enough to stay here, it will undoubtedly be one of the best memories you will make in your lifetime."

  • Paradise

"We loved Casa Dos Leones! The views are incredible and the community is very safe. Aad met us at the airport and did a great job with activities and directions. Isabel was incredible! She can really clean. We will be back, thank you Barry and Claudia for sharing your beautiful house!"

  • March is Marvellous in Atenas

"My wife and I had a wonderful three month stay in Costa Rica, January through March in 2015. We stayed in three different locations and enjoyed our time at Hisano’s more than anywhere else. It is centrally located in Costa Rica, just outside Atenas, on an excellent bus route, about 20 minutes to Town for a cost of 350 colonies, about 75 cents. We used Hisano’s as a base and travelled frequently to San Jose for the symphony and museum experiences, as well as to the Pacific coast beaches, down to Jaco and Quepos/Manual Antonio National Park...we did day trips as well as overnight adventures. We rented the bungalow at Hisano’s and found it to be immaculate...this is rare in Costa Rica. The insects were controlled regularly through weekly maid service and included fresh linens and a thorough cleaning. The cabina is fully equipped, with two ample bedrooms, large living/dining room area, great kitchen, adequate bathroom, huge covered patio area with table, chairs and a hammock that I couldn’t keep my wife out of. It is modern, bright white tile throughout, attractively decorated inside with Wi-Fi and a cd player. There was no cable TV but we enjoyed Netflicks and other programming through our computers, so not a big deal especially when you consider local programming. The grounds surrounding the accommodation are beautiful and well maintained, even throughout the dry season, so the hundreds of plants carefully selected and planted by Hisano herself were always green and blooming. Most other places the grass is brown and plants suffering a bit from the lack of rain. The pool is a short walk down the path and was small but adequate in size and always immaculate. You will find Hisano herself to be a warm and welcoming host who respects your privacy but is always there when you need her and is always willing to help. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend this accommodation to anyone."

  • Fantastic place to be!

"We have certainly enjoyed our stay at the Finca. The house is beautiful, spacious and finished with lovely decorations. To be able to swim in our own pool is a treat! Easy access to town and other places in Costa Rica. We have made this our home base making day excursions to the beach, San José and all of the great towns in the Central Valley. The gardens are beautifully kept and we have enjoyed the fruits that grow on the property. Thanks and we hope to come back!"
