Excellent, Awesome, and Beautiful!
"We have stayed at many VRBO's and this by far is our favorite. Barry and Claudia are great people and helped make this trip very memorable. Aad and Marian are a sweet couple who did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend having them pick you up from the airport - that made the first day so much easier (and it would be difficult to find Casa Dos Leones on your own for the first time). The views are incredible. The home is very modern and had everything we could have wanted. The location was perfect, close enough for many easy day trips with enough time at the end of the day to enjoy the home, pools and views. We rented a car and driving was easy enough, but you must add the GPS in your rental, we could not have done it without it. Beside the fact that this home is everything (and more) than the description states, Barry, Claudia, Aad, and Marian are the most helpful and kind people you could ask for. They gave us excellent suggestions, tips, ideas, and information to make our stay very comfortable and memorable. They were quick to answer any of our questions and all of their suggestions are right on. When we go back to Atenas, this will be our #1 choice for a rental. Thank you Barry, Claudia, Aad and Marian - you are wonderful people and your help and home made our vacation a true paradise. Anyone who choses to rent this home will not be disappointed."

"My wife and I had a wonderful three month stay in Costa Rica, January through March in 2015.
We stayed in three different locations and enjoyed our time at Hisano’s more than anywhere else. It is centrally located in Costa Rica, just outside Atenas, on an excellent bus route, about 20 minutes to Town for a cost of 350 colonies, about 75 cents. We used Hisano’s as a base and travelled frequently to San Jose for the symphony and museum experiences, as well as to the Pacific coast beaches, down to Jaco and Quepos/Manual Antonio National Park...we did day trips as well as overnight adventures.
We rented the bungalow at Hisano’s and found it to be immaculate...this is rare in Costa Rica. The insects were controlled regularly through weekly maid service and included fresh linens and a thorough cleaning. The cabina is fully equipped, with two ample bedrooms, large living/dining room area, great kitchen, adequate bathroom, huge covered patio area with table, chairs and a hammock that I couldn’t keep my wife out of. It is modern, bright white tile throughout, attractively decorated inside with Wi-Fi and a cd player. There was no cable TV but we enjoyed Netflicks and other programming through our computers, so not a big deal especially when you consider local programming.
The grounds surrounding the accommodation are beautiful and well maintained, even throughout the dry season, so the hundreds of plants carefully selected and planted by Hisano herself were always green and blooming. Most other places the grass is brown and plants suffering a bit from the lack of rain.
The pool is a short walk down the path and was small but adequate in size and always immaculate.
You will find Hisano herself to be a warm and welcoming host who respects your privacy but is always there when you need her and is always willing to help.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend this accommodation to anyone."

"From the get go Sam and Roxanne were a pleasure to work with on our first visit to Costa Rica! We are so grateful for the thoroughness and professionalism extended to us! The house is simply gorgeous! So much so that it was hard to leave every day to explore all that Costa Rica has to offer! The design of the house was warm and welcoming and all details well thought out! We enjoyed morning coffee poolside watching birds and butterflies feed on the bananas and the numerous iguana sunning on the roof or driveway. We took advantage of the view offered on top of the guest house each evening to star gaze and enjoy the twinkling lights of outlying towns. The central location of the house made our chosen attractions easy to reach. Sam recommended that we utilize the cell phone and GPS he has available and we are certainly glad we did as most of the roads are unmarked. We ventured to the Monteverde Cloud Forest, Poas Volcano and Jaco. We are already making plans for our return and while what we will do this next trip is up in the air, our choice to stay at the Luxury Castle is a definite!"

"In April, we four friends spent a week at Casa Blais. The views, the breeze, the hammock, the wraparound porch, the pool, the birds, the iguanas, the hammock, the peace and quiet, the rocking chairs, the loungers – all was fabulous. The temperatures were perfect and not a bug in sight!
The house itself was well equipped, very clean and plenty of space for us. There was a TV room downstairs but I don’t think we ever turned on the TV – the view from the porch was all the entertainment we needed. The separate 2 bed/2 bath casita was very nice and offered additional privacy. The house is in a gated community (safe!) and has spectacular views over the valley. At night, the views were equally fabulous showing us the lights from the surrounding towns.
The location was perfect, close to San Jose (30 min) and easy for day trips. We did do an overnight road trip to Arenal – it is too far to go for a day, but we had day trips to Manual Antonio National Park and various local sites. Oscar, our driver, was amazing – he picked us up every day, we got in his comfortable van and didn’t have to think about anything. Highly recommend to have a driver and especially one as knowledgeable and personable as Oscar.
We walked into Atenas one day (20-25 minutes) for lunch. You might want to take a taxi back ($4) as its uphill all the way!!! Good restaurants in the town – check out TripAdvisor for options. We had takeout pizza the first night – that was an easy option and delicious. Everyone speaks English so it is very easy to communicate.
Did I mention the hammock??"
