  • Amazing Time in Atenas

"After a pain-less flight from Fort Lauderdale into San Jose Airport we had arranged a private shuttle from Andrew and he had his man Oscar pick us up at the airport and drive us in his van about 35 mins to the property. Andrew was there to walk us thru the ins and outs of the house and property. The house is beautiful and sits upon a cliff overlooking the hills and valley below. The property is within a gated community and also has gate around the house itself. The main-house had a nice kitchen that had everything you need and the water was perfect to drink right from the fridge! There is only 1-Bedroom in the main-house it is a huge master room with a huge bathroom on the second floor. There is a casita on the other side of the pool with two private rooms and their own bathroom and shower. Both houses are very comfortable! The pool is heated by solar and was nice and refreshing to have there. The town is only 5 miles away and we used the Coopsupermarket across from Andrews office for all of our grocery's. The town is safe and the people are friendly. We did rent a 4x4 SUV for our travels to Jaco Beach Town and also to Arenal Volcano in which we spent the afternoon at Baldi Hot Springs Resort (if i were to visit arenal again I would have hired Oscar to drive us it was a very hair raising drive as the roads are not decent) In closing the property is in a great location very quiet and relaxing! There is a TV room down the steps which was nice to have also as we were traveling with children. The owner has a great home in Costa Rica and Andrew in my opinion is an asset that should not be overlooked. He was able to get us Pizza and ice delivered on our first night as we were waiting for the other couple to show with the rental car and he is there to help with any questions with the area, house, travel plans, pretty much anything! I would not hesitate to stay here again as the owner and Andrew have a geat thing going in Costa Rica! Thanks to all!"

  • Great property near the great little town of Atenas

"Our stay in this upscale house on the top of a hill was wonderful. The open floor-plan house with modern kitchen house has everything one needs for a place in the central highlands. An easy 30 minute drive from the San Jose airport lands one in the little town of Atenas and a five minute car ride up into the hills finds you in the heart of luxury. Atenas has everything you need to make this your base of operation to explore the central highlands. Poas Volcano is about 1.5 hour drive and Arenal Volcano is 2.5 hours. Both can be day-trips, but we stayed overnight in Arenal to get the best use of our time. Lots of other fun stuff to do in the outdoors. And returning to the house after an active day to find the pool inviting us in for a dip was a nice addition."

  • Breathtaking Views - Beautiful Home Away from Home!

"We could not have been happier at our stay here! We have never been to Costa Rica and were excited to stay in a home that would serve as our base camp to sightsee and explore this beautiful country. Quinta Colina Paula was perfect! From the beautiful furnishings and decoration, to the impeccable cleanliness, to the helpful property managers, to the amazing pool and outdoor living space, this house has it all!! We wanted for nothing during our stay, except for a car which we rented a couple days into the trip because things were farther away than we anticipated. Even the pathway into the house from the gate is long, winding, and steep, which is great for viewing and privacy but can be strenuous for some. We loved the little town of Atenas with its friendliness and rural feel. Aad and Marian were fantastic property managers/tour guides/informants! We felt cared for by both of them, and we learned so much from them! We suggest you have them pick you up at the airport and take you to town because they can share with you a lot of information and help you get your bearings. We also stopped at the local supermercado to get food and drinks during our pick up. A great day trip is the El Toledo Organic Coffee plantation tour with lunch at a Tican house prepared by a Tia of the coffee plantation - real authentic experience is priceless. Poas and LaPaz were awesome and relatively close. Jaco is enjoyed by the teenagers and surfers. We cannot wait to come back and stay at Quinta Colina again - as it was the perfect place to just get lost and relaxed for a day and then walk to Guanacaste restaurant or the Ceviche shop just up the road a few houses; while at the same time, the central location made it perfect to explore. The weather was perfect too! New Year's Eve was so special as we watched the fireworks light up the night sky over San Jose from the Quinta. Con mucho gusto we write this review! You'll love it!"

  • LOVED THIS PLACE!!

"We stayed here with our son and his girlfriend and had an absolutely wonderful time. The home is as lovely as it looks in the pictures! What we didn't realize is that the two bedrooms are in two separate buildings - making it perfect for two couples giving each great privacy. The main house is in the middle. The view is spectacular and we loved sitting on the veranda at night watching the lighting show off in the distance! We took advantage of the offer to have someone come in an cook for us and the meal was delicious and it made for a relaxing time for us! I tend to be skeptical of reviews and if you are like me, I hope you'll take this review to heart!! Thank you so much for a very memorable time!"
