  • A kind of tropical home

"For the last 8 years we've been nearly every year at Finca Miramonte and it was and is like a home for us. It is ideal as a base to discover the whole country and to start adventurous trips from here. So much you can reach in a short drive: oceans, volcanoes, mountains and the capital city. But also it is one of the best places we know to relax, to read and write. The sensational garden with lots of tropical fruits, the nice pool, the fully equipped house and the nice walks on and around the big finca makes this place perfect for individualists who don't need all day animation. Also the very warm support of the owners M. and B. makes this place so comfortable. We highly recommend it!"

  • I am still dreaming about being at Villa Frutales

"This was a wonderful place to stay. We really enjoyed staying outside of La Fortuna. It was so beautiful and away from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna. The villa had everything in it and the beds were so comfortable. We loved waking up to the birds and nature around us. We used a grocery store that is only about 10 minutes from the villa and cooked most of our meals which was convenient. Esteban was an excellent host. He got us an excellent rate at Alamo for our rental car and that went very smoothly for both pick up and drop off of the car. He also sat down with us when we arrived and helped us plan out our entire stay and then made all of the reservations for us and it went perfectly. We did a ATV trip to a small semi private hot spring, then zip lining, and canyoning. Everything went smoothly for us. I would recommend a 4WD vehicle if you stay here since the roads are unpaved and rocky. I highly recommend staying at this property."

  • great house, beautiful view

"It's a great house- plenty of space and very clean. After the first day of rain, we had beautiful, clear days and the view of the volcano was breathtaking. Like the other reviewers mentioned, the house is on a very bumpy road. It is a small town, so getting a taxi isn't as easy as other parts of the country. If possible, arrange for a 4x4 rental car."

  • Most wonderful 2 months

"My wife, 2 kids (11 and 8) and I have had one of the most memorable summers you could ever imagine and it would not have been possible without having a place that we could call home for 2 months. The house with its open floor plan, the 3 bedrooms and, my kids favorite, the pool gave us a place to settle in and allowed us to really explore the beauty of Costa Rice. With the internet I was able to do business and stay in contact with my office as well. We experience the farmers market on Friday mornings, the Mercado a couple a times a week, the plaza for the kids to run play and make friend and the one and only Gelly's for our ice cream, ask for Alex he's the owner and is the nicest man and try to make it to La Casita del Café up route 3, great view on top looking down the valley and on a clear day you can see the ocean and the food is really good. We were able to explore multiple beaches that are 40-60 minutes away, go to the volcanoes of Paos and to the waterfall of La Pez, do forget to get your fresh strawberries sold on the side of the road. We also made a weekend trip to Arenal, wonderful. When we needed our American fix we found a Walmart and a Starbuck 20-30 toward San Jose. Great experience and the owner of the property is easy and trust worthy to deal with. I highly recommend this this house and this wonderful little village of Atenas."
