  • What a great place

"My family and friends stayed here for 23 days and it was glorious. Mario, the gardener is very friendly and helpful even though he speaks no English. He keeps the place spotless. Aad and Marian were able to assist us with a few things as well. It is very private and has great views. There was more than enough room for the five adults and one toddler to share. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware a budding chef needs."

  • Villa Las Clementinas

"Absolutely beautiful. A stunning home with every comfort you could want, right down to a bottle of Lizano Tabasco sauce. Wonderful country and wonderful people, and so much to see and do. I can't recommend this rental more highly."

  • Must see this to believe it!

"We have rented in many, many countries but the casita is a 10, a truly quality place. The listing description was accurate but the pictures did not do it justice. The bedroom was large and the wood built ins were beautiful. The kitchen was very well equipped, even had salt, pepper, oil, paper products, everything you need. The living room was very comfortable but we spent most of our time on the patio. The property was very well maintained and clean inside and out. The pool is wonderful and relaxing. The owners Grace and Ivan were easy to work with and quick to respond. They went above and beyond as owners, they were in fact great friends. The property is outside of the town of San Mateo but close to larger cities. I would recommend this casita to any of my friend and family or maybe I shouldn't since everyone that stays here wants to return! Thank you my friends for sharing this amazing property and hope to see you again!"

Vacations in Costa Rica Delve into the Past

The history of Costa Rica dates as far back as the pre-Columbian era. The area was inhabited by natives, even when the Spanish settlers found the land in 1650. Though there were small uprisings, the natives of Costa Rica were very welcoming to settlers sharing their lands. Religious uprisings did occur when Monsignor don Esteban Lorenzo de Tristan wanted to erect a parish. Your vacations in Costa Rica will allow you to see this parish along with other churches from the past. A good idea is to plan out your trip to the churches while having breakfast at Alajuela resorts.
