  • Perfect

"This house is incredible. Its features with the pool/ jacuzzi overlooking the canyon are amazing. The interior is simple and tasteful. The beds are beyond comfortable and the outdoor showers are to die for. I love this place and we all talked about returning to this house and lovely country again. The Vista de Valle Plantstion Inn is a great little resource as well."

  • Great property near the great little town of Atenas

"Our stay in this upscale house on the top of a hill was wonderful. The open floor-plan house with modern kitchen house has everything one needs for a place in the central highlands. An easy 30 minute drive from the San Jose airport lands one in the little town of Atenas and a five minute car ride up into the hills finds you in the heart of luxury. Atenas has everything you need to make this your base of operation to explore the central highlands. Poas Volcano is about 1.5 hour drive and Arenal Volcano is 2.5 hours. Both can be day-trips, but we stayed overnight in Arenal to get the best use of our time. Lots of other fun stuff to do in the outdoors. And returning to the house after an active day to find the pool inviting us in for a dip was a nice addition."

  • Highly recommend

"We had a fabulous week in this beautiful home and setting! It is perfect for 2 couples. The views and gardens on the property are amazing. We enjoyed picking limes from the orchard. The location is central giving you the option for many day trips or many days to lounge by the pool and enjoy the property. Carol is so helpful and Diane, the local manager is just a phone call away and made sure we had everything we needed. I also recommend you stop in to the Los Barillos Super Mercado just down the road. Our new friend Ariam works there, speaks good English and will help you with anything as well! Don't hesitate to book this place-it exceeded our expectations!"

  • Wonderful jungle house

"My extended family group of four persons stayed at this beautiful house for two nights. The house is located in an enclosed compound in the jungle a few miles from town. There are several fruit trees surrounding the house. We were awakended both mornings by a howler monkey and other jungle sounds. The pool was great. During our stay the washing machine was broken. Only two of the bedrooms are air conditioned. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. The house is great! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there."

Alajuela is the capital city of the Alajuela Province. Alajuela resorts are within driving distance of the Pacific Ocean if you want a day trip at the beach. It takes a few hours to reach the coastal region because Alajuela is in the center of Costa Rica. Hiking, biking, and eco-tours of the canopy are all options for your family vacation to Alajuela beach rentals.

Vacations in Costa Rica Delve into the Past

The history of Costa Rica dates as far back as the pre-Columbian era. The area was inhabited by natives, even when the Spanish settlers found the land in 1650. Though there were small uprisings, the natives of Costa Rica were very welcoming to settlers sharing their lands. Religious uprisings did occur when Monsignor don Esteban Lorenzo de Tristan wanted to erect a parish. Your vacations in Costa Rica will allow you to see this parish along with other churches from the past. A good idea is to plan out your trip to the churches while having breakfast at Alajuela resorts.
