"We stayed here with our son and his girlfriend and had an absolutely wonderful time. The home is as lovely as it looks in the pictures! What we didn't realize is that the two bedrooms are in two separate buildings - making it perfect for two couples giving each great privacy. The main house is in the middle. The view is spectacular and we loved sitting on the veranda at night watching the lighting show off in the distance! We took advantage of the offer to have someone come in an cook for us and the meal was delicious and it made for a relaxing time for us! I tend to be skeptical of reviews and if you are like me, I hope you'll take this review to heart!! Thank you so much for a very memorable time!"Guest: Kathryn L. "We have rented in many, many countries but the casita is a 10, a truly quality place. The listing description was accurate but the pictures did not do it justice. The bedroom was large and the wood built ins were beautiful. The kitchen was very well equipped, even had salt, pepper, oil, paper products, everything you need. The living room was very comfortable but we spent most of our time on the patio. The property was very well maintained and clean inside and out. The pool is wonderful and relaxing. The owners Grace and Ivan were easy to work with and quick to respond. They went above and beyond as owners, they were in fact great friends. The property is outside of the town of San Mateo but close to larger cities. I would recommend this casita to any of my friend and family or maybe I shouldn't since everyone that stays here wants to return! Thank you my friends for sharing this amazing property and hope to see you again!"Guest: Jenith F. Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: December 2, 2014View listing
"My extended family group of four persons stayed at this beautiful house for two nights. The house is located in an enclosed compound in the jungle a few miles from town. There are several fruit trees surrounding the house. We were awakended both mornings by a howler monkey and other jungle sounds. The pool was great. During our stay the washing machine was broken. Only two of the bedrooms are air conditioned. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. The house is great! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there."Guest: Dorene Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 22, 2014View listing
"The house was perfect for our family. Very clean, spacious and the view on the volcano was such a bonus !!! Nancy, the host, been incredible with us. She helped us to book tours, gave us lot of advices about what to do and see in the area. Tasting a good coffee on the balcony with a red maccaw at 10 meters from us has been an unfogettable expérience. 100% for El Castillo, the house and the host !"Guest: Jé Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: January 8, 2014View listing
