  • Perfect for our family!

"We really enjoyed our stay at this home for a week. We stayed with us and our 4 children making us a family of 6. Let me tell you who this house is perfect for. This home is perfect for those who want to experience what it is like in a small Costa Rican Community. It is set among a tiny village in the mountains above Turrialba. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the locals who always greeted us with a smile and a wave. This home is perfect for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The peaceful view overlooking the valley is not done justice in the pictures. The View is breathtaking. This home is perfect for anyone or people with children who want to explore the mountains in Costa Rica. We enjoyed taking hikes on the property and surrounding area. We found our way down to a beautiful river near the property and the children did not get tired of exploring. This home is perfect for those who want room to spread out. With three large bedrooms and plenty of extra room to relax we felt quite comfortable. When the kids had been hiking all day and were worn out or were kept in with the rain we enjoyed some family time playing on the WII provided. Although some of the games didn't work, enough did to provide adequate down time. The children also enjoyed hours in the pool on a sunny day. IF you don't like to be in the wilderness, and don't want a true Costa Rican experience then this house is not for you. IF you are not comfortable driving up mountain roads this home is not for you. If you don't understand that being surrounded by woods is going to lead to things like a few bugs then you shouldn't stay here. The house is clean but being where it is even with every day sweeping a few creepy crawlies will make their way in. You must understand that while this house is modern, clean and comfortable, it is a Costa Rican style home. This means you can't flush paper down toilets, you have no running hot water at the sinks, and the showers are heated by small electric heaters. The road getting to it is a dirt road on a Mountaintop, rugged and steep. How else can you expect the beautiful view? We really enjoyed Tatiana bringing our Costa Rican style breakfast every day. She was wonderful to us and the children. The neighbor Joseph is a treasure! YOU MUST arrange a tour with him. He is so knowledgable. Our horseback ride with him was our highlight of the trip. We would stay here again!"

  • Paradise and beyond!

"Paradise Peak villa on Steve and Nancy's "tropical plant finca" was a dream come true. The beauty of the villa, accommedations, amenities and the property all sum up to a magnificent place to stay. There are plenty of activites in the surrounding area; overlooks, historical, rainforest, cloud forest, shops, bars, restaraunts and more. We (my husband and I) enjoyed driving around all the little towns, waving at all the friendly people, relaxing and taking in the gorgeous views from narrow winding mountain roads. We enjoyed all the attention from the 3 lady rotti's as we were missing our own pets. They are super well behaved and friendly. You could see they enjoyed meeting and keeping company with the new guests. Steve and Nancy are super friendly, helpful and interesting people to spend time with. Don't forget to spend time in the tropical gardens on the property and sample friuts straight from the trees. Our 4 nights there were definitely not enough...we didn't want to leave. We will just have to come back soon!"

  • Amazing/ Unforgettable Experience!!

"Me and my sister stayed in Costa Rica for the summer learning spanish. Upon our arrival the family picked us up from the airport in San Jose with snacks and open arms. They took time to stop in Cartago and showed us a church and beautiful city attractions! The home we stayed in was breathtaking, well kept, clean, and had an amazing view of the family farm. Not only was the coffee the best I have ever had the mother cooked us delicious traditional Costa Rican dishes that ended up being some of the best food I had the entire summer! I would highly recommend staying here! It was a wonderful experience and I would 100% return!!!"

  • Awesome stay in August with young children!

"Everyone told us, "Oh. That's the rainy season." Sure it rained most afternoons but it was short lived. I was worried it would be hot. Not the case! It was in the low 60s to low 80s but humid. My wife was worried our 5 & 6 year old kids would be bored after a few days. 30 minutes a day of screen time was plenty for them! We spent two of our six days at the house on the upper porch, only leaving for dinner, and had a great time with WONDERFUL quality family time!!! We speak enough Spanish to get by out in town and the locals were VERY friendly. The mainstream places all spoke English. Not a problem. If you're having reservations about "the rainy season" or young children, DO NOT WORRY! We had a blast. Also, David is a rock solid wealth of information. Touch base with him if you have any questions and he will steer you straight! Pura Vida"
