A Wonderful Experience!
"My wife and I along with our two children (11 & 13) travelled to Costa Rica in November of 2014. This was our 3rd trip to Costa Rica (previous was ’08 & ’09). One of our goals on this trip was to spend a bit more time in the Turrialba area and to connect more with locals. Also, as an adventurous family (we have a sea kayak company in British Columbia: www.bcseakayak.com), we were keen to do some river rafting. Finding Jose’s “Natural Paradise” was perfect as it seemed to satisfy all these goals. Initial communication with Jose was clear and concise - and gave us confidence to move ahead with more questions before booking. Since Jose and his brother Sergio are guides, they easily organized a rafting trip for us on the Pacuare River (what a great day!!). Staying at the family farm was not only peaceful and relaxing but it allowed us to connect with a kind and wonderful Costa Rican family. This kind of experience is priceless! In learning my kids love soccer (they brought a soccer ball with them…), Sergio was keen to organize a fun soccer match with some of his friends and my kids. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate, as intense rains shut down the field on both days we tried to play. Regardless, the thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated! Relaxing at Natural Paradise, connecting with the Rivera family, experiencing their kind hospitality and partaking in some well-organized adventures was a highlight of our 2014 trip to Costa Rica."

Perfect for vacationers who like to be "off the beaten track"
"We truly enjoyed our recent stay at Los Motmotos del Rio Orosi! The house is large and comfortable and the caretakers Heriberto and Ana Maria were helpful, kind, and welcoming. One of the highlights was sitting on the balcony over breakfast of fresh fruit each morning and watching the many, many species of birds having their fruit that Heriberto put out for them each morning. The owner Dave has a great birding notebook that he has put together as well as an excellent reference book, and it was so fun to identify the species as we ate and drank coffee each morning. Dave also has a useful binder of local information that gave us great info on hikes, tours and restaurants---with this info in hand we were able to feel like we were living like locals do. AND... Dave's directions to the house and around the neighborhood are SO easy to follow. Gracias muchisimas a Dave, Heriberto, and Ana Maria for a FANTASTIC vacation."

"My family of 6 had a wonderful time in the mountains of Sitio de Mata. This house was perfect for us - lots of room and the pool table, ping pong table and swimming pool were thoroughly enjoyed by my 4 children. The neighbor and tour guide Jose is wonderful. He made our trip fantastic. He arranged for us to go horseback riding, waterfall repelling (canyoning) and white water rafting. His mom cooked us a few dinners and he pointed out places for us to eat and shop in the community. Jose is truly a blessing.
The views from the house are amazing. It was very relaxing to sit on the porches and enjoy the views. The town of Sitio de Mata was a highlight for our family as well. We enjoyed our walks from the house into town and being able to speak with the locals in the community. Everyone was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. We spent 3 nights in the house - 4 days and hands down everyone in our family agrees - those were our best days in Costa Rica.
There have been a lot of mixed reviews on the house itself. We enjoyed the house. The views can't be beat. It is important to know that you are in mountains and while it may not have all the fanciness of a 5 star resort it does have lots of room, lots of things to do and breathtaking views. We would definitely stay again if we visit Costa Rica again."

"We have stayed at VRBO places in a number of places and this is by far the best jewel we have come across. Everything is perfect. Nancy has it decorated beautifully and it is equipped with everything you could ever need. The bed is soooo comfortable. The location is a wonderful temperate climate, there are lots of things to do - we enjoyed Tapanti national park and enjoyed hiking and seeing lots of tropical birds. The property is amazing. Acres and acres of an amazing botanical garden, with lots of trails. The adorable dogs will show you all the paths! We also went to Irazu volcano, again an easy day trip, where we saw beautiful birds, flora
and fauna. And the view was amazing. Steve and Nancy are the most gracious hosts. They are totally friendly, knowledgable and even made us fresh buns! We would go back there in an instant, and I don't think I can say that about any other VRBO places I have stayed at - so that says it all!
