  • Wonderful Vacation Home for Family and Friends

"My family and friends were able to enjoy the wonderful home in July. We had 5 kids ages 5-12 and 6 adults. It was the vacation of a lifetime. The house was extremely clean and well-kept. Lisa was more than responsive to all of my questions and was a big help in assisting me with planning our vacation. It was great having Blanca and Herman to spoil us. Yoko was a great resource to have during our stay. The kids loved having access to all the movies during their afternoon break. There were so many beautiful places to sit for dinner, lunch, and games. The house could not have been in a better location. We had our own private beach for 10 days. The kids (and adults) loved boogie boarding, walking the beaches, and taking in the beautiful sunsets. We walked down the beach to nearby restaurants and were very pleased with all of the owners' recommendations. We travelled to Tamarindo for a day to shop and take surfing lessons. We also went on a canopy tour and catamaran sunset cruise. These were all in the house book we were provided. We referenced this book daily. We used Yellow Fin for all of our excursions. They were also wonderful. Even though there were so many more activities we could have done, we spent most days in the pool or on the beach. I didn't quite understand the meaning behind "Pura Vida" until I was able to visit Casa Playa Bonita!"

  • Breathtaking.

"We spent a wonderful week at Casa de Serenidad. The whole place is amazing. To start with of the hosts, Babe and Don are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our unit had the most amazing views perched like an aerie over the Pacific. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen well supplied. The AC sufficient. The unit had a nice private deck to hang out on or have dinner or have a massage. We remember one moonlit night with the surf glowing and lights across the bay twinkling, Breathtaking. The rest of the property was equally amazing. The architect had some fun. There is a cable bridge between the tops of two of the buildings. What a kick. And a spiral staircase to get down from one of the roofs. Another bit of fun was two hammocks suspended over a wading pool under a ramada on the roof of a building perched over the Pacific. These hammocks were a wonderful place to read. There is space for grilling out. There is an indoor cool Jacuzzi which turned out to be wonderfully refreshing on a hot day! We highly recommend Casa de Serenidad and we hope that we can return soon."

  • Great location, beautiful beach

"Working with Sid was easy. he was very respectful of our privacy, but would respond any time we had a question. He has an absolutely beautiful villa at a reasonable price. We stayed in the larger villa on the middle floor. It was spotless when we arrived. We cooked in-home several times, and were not lacking for kitchen supplies for beans, rice, breakfasts, tacos, etc. Everything was there, and in good working order. He even had a colander. He gave us alternate directions to get to the Villa from SJO in order to avoid construction. He referred us to a pretty good tour operator who offered nice excursions for reasonable prices. His maid, Maritsa, was sweet and a great cook. She made us comida tipica one evening and it was REALLY really good. You should ask for her to cook for you. She was super timely with laundry - which meant we didn't have to pack as much! The villa itself is nestled in a hillside with a great view in the morning of the mountains. The pool below is a play-pool, which means that the water was quite warm in our week of travel. Still, after being beaten up by the ocean, it was very nice to just float and relax in the pool. The tropical landscaping around the property is very pretty. We saw a few interesting birds, and very pretty flowers. On our last morning, the howler monkeys gave us a show in the trees just outside the perimeter of the property. The walk to the beach is down a somewhat steep walk. You'll want to wear shoes. After being tossed around the ocean, the walk back up the hill can be a bit tiresome. It would be difficult for someone who lives a sedentary life, but just stop to breathe and you'll make it. Bring bug spray. Bring sunscreen. Bring shampoo. Sid provides shower soap, but it's what's available locally. The pix don't show bathrooms, but they were all very nice. Nice bath towels and linens. Beach towels were thin, but hey, dry off on the beach in the sun! The A/C worked just fine. In the hot week we were there, we opted to use it. Sid has you put down a cash deposit for damage. Just use the coasters to protect the finishes, and treat the place respectfully. He provides all the basic necessities and many nice amenites. Enjoy!!"

  • Prime location!

"I couldn't have found a nicer place to live for 7 weeks! All of the amenities here to enjoy a wonderful and relaxing vacation. I enjoyed my daily walks to the beach and to places in and around Playa Flamingo. The CPI school is less than a mile away so I took some Spanish lessons while I was here. The condo has WiFi, cable TV, a well appointed kitchen and 2 great bedrooms with televions and private baths. The balcony offers a picnic type table as well as 4 Costa Rican rocking chairs that you'll love sitting in while you look over Portrero Bay. The front door has a gorgeous view of trees below as well as of the Pacific Ocean and its sunsets. In short, a grand place to stay while vacationing in Playa Flamingo, CR."
