  • Wonderful Beach Vacation

"We have just returned from our visit to Costa Rica which included 6 nights at Playa Flamingo. The location of the condo is great with a beach right in front and just a few minutes walk to Playa Flamingo. These beaches were wonderful but for variety, within a short drive we also explored the beaches at Conchal, Danta and Dantita. The condo is well equipped and has amazing beds. The view to the ocean and boats is great right from the patio and our grandson was intrigued by the boats, birds and iguanas he could see from there! Russell was great to deal with and happy to answer all questions and give suggestions. In Costa Rica, we were met by Willie who welcomed us and was just a phone call away to help out while we were there. A grocery store is nearby and there are great restaurants just a short walk down the road."

  • Way up there

"The property is absolutely stunning. It is a beautiful place to spend a holiday with all the amenities that one would ever want. Great rooms in all areas, beautiful pool, beautiful views and very clean. The house is located at almost the top of a ridge overlooking Flamingo beach, what a view. For our group this was a perfect house. One thing that we discovered was that the queen size beds that we were told the house had in two bedrooms were actually doubles (or seemed like it). Special Places did a great job of getting us in touch with the transportation to and from the airport and also for a day trip to the river tour and other information that we needed. We enjoyed the restaurants down in the town and along the beach. Easy to get down the hill to the town and beach, however a chore to walk back up…..any heart issues, don't try it. As for the town amenities, groceries are extremely limited or drive almost 30 mins to a grocery store. No ATM within walking distance. At the bottom of the hill the community offers a gorgeous beach and a few good restaurants. Recommendation to get a car."

  • Wonderful Vacation Home for Family and Friends

"My family and friends were able to enjoy the wonderful home in July. We had 5 kids ages 5-12 and 6 adults. It was the vacation of a lifetime. The house was extremely clean and well-kept. Lisa was more than responsive to all of my questions and was a big help in assisting me with planning our vacation. It was great having Blanca and Herman to spoil us. Yoko was a great resource to have during our stay. The kids loved having access to all the movies during their afternoon break. There were so many beautiful places to sit for dinner, lunch, and games. The house could not have been in a better location. We had our own private beach for 10 days. The kids (and adults) loved boogie boarding, walking the beaches, and taking in the beautiful sunsets. We walked down the beach to nearby restaurants and were very pleased with all of the owners' recommendations. We travelled to Tamarindo for a day to shop and take surfing lessons. We also went on a canopy tour and catamaran sunset cruise. These were all in the house book we were provided. We referenced this book daily. We used Yellow Fin for all of our excursions. They were also wonderful. Even though there were so many more activities we could have done, we spent most days in the pool or on the beach. I didn't quite understand the meaning behind "Pura Vida" until I was able to visit Casa Playa Bonita!"

  • Beautiful, peaceful and well managed property that is affordable for what is offered.

"My husband and I just returned from our stay at Casa Colibri for the week of 9/6/14 to 9/13/2014. All the owner's pictures are identical to what the home looks like with the exception to the one taken of the beach. We walked down the stairs the first day after our arrival and there was trash and lots of wood that had washed up on the beach. The first few days we were there it rained a few times so I can totally understand how this can happen but also noticed the neighbor's beach area which is located one or two houses over that looked very well maintained and perfectly clean from debris. This is very minor compared to all the other wonderful things this property has to offer. (During the "green season" at this time this area does have a great deal of rain which can cause stuff to run down the hill and also get washed up on the beach from the active waves of the ocean so its very possible that this is what is causing it.) Mayra, the lady that met us when we arrived did an excellent job showing us the property, recommended restaurants and genuinely cared to take the time to answer the few questions that we had about the home. The maid did a spectacular job and the young man named Jose' helped watch the property and guests at night. We never were at the property when the pool person arrived but could tell it was being attended to and was always sparkling clean. The home has everything you need and is a great location with nearby restaurants. As other reviews have mentioned there is another property immediately to the left (if you are looking at the ocean) but it was not occupied during our stay. The landscaping is very well placed and maintained to provide almost total seclusion. We plan to share our wonderful experience with other friends so they can visit and stay at Casa Colibri. It is truly a beautiful property and has the RIGHT individuals caring for it like it belongs to them too."
