  • Great place to stay!

"What a great vacation! Mary Beth and Scott were great prior to and during our actual trip. They sent us a ton of information about the area and things to do based on their personal experiences. The condo was well kept and updated. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us to relax after a day at the beach or after coming back from an adventure. The property was well maintained and everyone was very friendly. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and we can't wait to go back!"

  • Fantastic Experience!

"We visited Casa Colibri and Samara in June 2014 with our entire family ranging from age 5 to 75. The house is beautiful, beds are comfortable and the view is amazing! I truly miss waking up to beautiful sunrises and to the sound of the howler monkeys. We prepared most of our meals at home and spent the days enjoying Samara and the surrounding areas. Four in our group attended the local Spanish immersion school and found the experience extremely valuable. In addition to the Spanish classes, we rode horses, hiked in the beautiful reserve behind the house, kayaked, fished in the ocean and enjoyed the zip lines. Mary Ellen was extremely helpful and was quick to answer our questions and provide us all the guidance we would need to navigate around the area. I do have to say that Daniel, the on-site caretaker is a gem. He was there to help us with any questions or problem that we encountered. For example, one morning we had a flat tire - as we were attempting to put on the spare, he asked us to wait since he had all of the tools to repair our tire at his disposal. That saved us an entire day of our vacation. On numerous occasions, Daniel went out of his way to make sure that our vacation was a memorable and enjoyable experience. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again."

  • Retirement is an Option

"My wife and I decided to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Costa Rica and we were not disappointed. The Condo overlooks the bay and from sunrise to sunset it is a picturesque sight. The temperatures hit 40 degrees while we were there, but the air conditioners kept the condo a cool place to escape the heat when necessary. The closeness of restaurants to the condo was a plus but I advise visitors to rent a vehicle if you want to see sights...but if your looking for downtime with sun and peace/quiet you can't find anywhere better. We will be going back soon...it was that much fun!!!"

  • Loved it!

"We were two families of 4--4 adults and 4 teens. This house was perfect! We also rented the adjoining apartment. While we all had separate places to sleep, the center gathering spot of the house was wonderful. The pool was incredible. Quite large by Costa Rica standards--in fact, the pool at the house was as big as the pool at the hotel we stayed in at Arenal. Carrillo Bay is a short walk away, and we played in the waves with the boogie boards. We also borrowed the cooler and the hammock for the beach. The store is a short walk down the road and Hula Jungle was one of our favorite places to eat. We went several times during our stay. We also had dinner right across the street at the steak house. Delicious! We did drive into Samara one day for surf lessons, and that was fun as well. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting the Samara/Carrillo Bay area in Costa Rica. Thank you Michael and Linda for sharing Casa Ventana Del Mar with us!"
