"My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at this home for 8 nights. We arrived in the dark, not fully appreciating our surroundings and in the morning woke to a view that surpassed any we had ever seen, the sunrise over Arenal Volcano and panoramic view of beautiful Lake Arenal. The home and location was everything we hoped for and more. It was far enough off the beaten path (quietly secluded from tourist traps) yet close enough for wonderful day trips and activities. After a day of exploring it was a pleasure to come back to relax and enjoy the comforts this house has to offer; morning coffee on the patio, sunsets at the pool, howler monkeys, toucans, humming birds, hiking, swimming in the lake. The local people are friendly and helpful and the town of Nueva Arenal has great places to eat and local markets so you don't have to venture far. Our stay at Casa de Turtle Cove was just what we needed to make our first trip to Costa Rica one we will never forget. Thank you Stephanie and Ron~"

"Casa Sullo is a wonderful place to stay. Prior to our arrival, the owner was extremely helpful with not only the details for the house, but car rental information, sightseeing recommendations, etc. The house is comfortable and extremely clean. The back patio looks out over Lake Arenal, with a walking path down to the lake. There are kayaks available for the use of visitors. We were lucky enough to have howler monkeys in the backyard while we were there, and of course, many beautiful birds. It is close to windsurfing, Volcan National Park, and Monteverde. There are two great restaurants within walking distance, and a fully stocked kitchen if you want to cook. We were there for 4 nights and 3 days and enjoyed every minute. There were four retired adults in our party and we would all return for future visits."

  • Feels like home!

"This was the second year we have stayed at Casa Gavilan. A rancho by the pool was a pleasant addition. There is plenty of room in this house for three couples to stay. The house is decorated so beautifully I would not recommend bringing small children. Everything in the house was in working order. Ed Woods, the manager, was there to greet us. He had been kind enough to stock the kitchen with some essentials to get you through until you can shop. Fresh flowers were prevelant, and the aroma of the gardenias filled the house, so nice. The view of the lake, the beautiful grounds, and of course, the howler monkeys made this the location to be. We ate at local restaurants and did some sight seeing. Attended Mass in the beautiful local church. Our favorite was eating at Rancho Tinaje for our 20th anniversary. The food and location are not to be missed. We would never consider staying anywhere else when we visit Lake Arenal in the future."

  • Pictures do not do this place justice!!!

"We arrived here on December 23rd and stayed until January 6th. As we were on our way to the cottage, we kept saying " Oh man, I hope our view is this pretty." Much to our surprise...the view is more than we ever expected. WOW. It is more beautiful than anywhere we've ever stayed. The house was perfect. We went to Nuevo Arenal to the grocery store about 5 minutes away and bought food for our stay. We cooked out on the grill and had wonderful dinners with the windows open and the perfect breeze coming in. It was amazing! We drove into La Fortuna almost everyday for our excursions and it was about an hour each way which didn't bother us because the drive is so beautiful. It took us about 3-1/2 hours to get to Jaco where we went for New Year's Eve. All the roads are great any way you go around the lake. We loved the peaceful nights and the coffee in the early mornings. I was very appreciative for the washer & dryer lol. Being there for 2 weeks and we definitely needed it. Thank you Dan for allowing us to enjoy your home. We can't even begin to express how wonderful you made our honeymoon by letting us use your house. The hammock was so relaxing to just lay and read and take a nap. OMGoodness I could not say enough about this place. Breath Taking. We are definitely spreading the word about this little piece of Heaven. Thanks again."
