"This is a good condo for family vacation. The views of the ocean from the balconies and bedrooms are very nice. The kitchen is functional.
There was an initial setback as the water was turned off. This was a major inconvenience as we arrived at 10 pm after a five hour road journey with three kids. No one could not use the bathroom until the next morning. The rental property management company knew of our arrival from owner/VRBO as well as my own phone conversations with them, so this was unexpected. Throughout this, the owner was helpful and worked to get the water turned on at 6:15 am instead of 8 am that the emergency contact had provided as the ETA. No one at the property management company apologized when I stopped by their office the next day with another question about the location of the safe - they didn't know where the safe was. These and few other things did not leave a good impression on us about the people that manage the property.
After the effect of this initial experience wore off, we were able to appreciate the condo. The swimming pool is nice, the beach right next to the condo is awesome for quiet strolls and collecting shells. The sunsets are gorgeous. We had a very good time staying here. Tamarindo is the nearest town for activities like surfing, swimming, renting a car, dining and so on. The condo is about a few minutes drive from Tamarindo downtown. Most people either spoke enough English or we able to get by with very limited Spanish. The people are very friendly and the places felt quite safe. The condo has security guards who were helpful and nice. Right next to the condo there is a small grocery store for basic necessities.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and if we visit Tamarindo area again would consider staying at this condo again."

"Beautiful setting! Loved having coffee and tea on the veranda. Nicely setup roomy condo. It was great to have a washer and dryer as we got some refreshed clothes mid-trip. Some tour guides (though older) were available.
Nice neighbors--we lost power due to a storm--luckily they called the power company to get things in motion to get this fixed quickly.
Ed was helpful, meeting us to handover the keys.
Nice Italian place and breakfast place a couple of miles South.
Bed wasn't the most comfortable, and didn't quite feel like home. Would have been nice if there was aan active phone.
All in all, good place and would go there again."

"The 4 days we had at this amazing place were a pure slice of paradise. Everything was perfect. The management of the property by Brian, and the management of our fun activities by Stefano, and the delightful housekeeper made sure we had the best place to stay and the best time. Even the guards at the front gate added to the experience being very helpful while making you feel like you could truly relax because they've got it covered. We played hard and slept like teenagers (babies are terrible sleepers IMO). It's not that it is dangerous, but there are opportunist, and also while all were nice, vendors are on all the public tourist beaches (Jaco, Manuel Antonio and Tamarindo). It was nice to have a truly private, secured beach experience.
It was great to have movie night with the kids (11, 14) every night as we are not "party in Tamarindo" people. And when my teenage boy needed his "down time" he would play the PS3 games. It truly has something for everyone. When I needed downtime, I closed the blackout shades, turned on my personal room AC unit and locked my door for a couple of hours. You can do what ever you want here, just relax or play hard, or both!"

"I wanted a vacation that I could just get away from the stresses of life! I decided on the quaint and quiet privately owned Villas Congas getaway in the country of Costa Rica. The view from the property is simply spectacular!! Secluded and surrounded by the dry rain forest and hear nothing but the birds chirping, the occasional chatter from monkeys and the amazing view of the Pacific Ocean from my own private veranda and sanctity of the infinity pool. This is my idea of vacation! I was close enough to go to the beach or even a short trip to Playa de Coco for local fare and shopping and dancing. I have to tell you the beaches are lovely. It is quiet and relaxing without the hassle of a crowded beach. There is horseback riding available, kayaking and Deep Sea Fishing if you desire more adventure when visiting. Myself, I like the beach and the waves and just recharging my inner beach loving soul. On days I didn't want to go to the beach I was able to just relax in this beautiful pool and sunbathe without the crowds of people you find at crowded hotel pools. This one was mine alone! Cool and refreshing after a lovely hike. At night when I decided I didn't want to cook in the fully equipped kitchen, I made my way downtown to Playa de Coco for fresh seafood and real Italian Gelato. Such a treat. We visited Las Catalina's for an afternoon lunch and stroll through this beautifully planned community.
Vacationing at Villas Congas can be whatever you make it! Quiet and serene or busy with excitement. You are free to explore the area or just chill. My hosts, Sherman and Diane, are lovely people. This was a return trip for me and I couldn't wait to see them again for this year's vacation. Always a smile on his face, Sherman will help you with accommodations and a rental car as you will need this to get around. Diane is gracious and always willing to show you where to find the local Tico (Costa Ricans are known as Tico's or Tica's) businesses. Be adventurous!
My vacation at Villas Congas is always fun and relaxing. I get to enjoy this little space of Heaven on Earth without all of the crowds you find in most hotels. You won't have to worry about hearing traffic roaring by, what's going on next door or rowdy people walking outside your hotel room. Thank you to my hosts, Sherman and Diane for a wonderful time and I can't wait until I can see you again! PURA VIDA!"
