  • Peaceful Serenity in Nosara & Playa Pelada

"My family of 4 (2 college daughters) spent a wonderful 5 days at Paraisito in April of 2015. Although listed as a home, it could legitimately be better described as a 5 star villa, with every amenity you need for a wonderful vacation. The craftsmanship alone was flawless, beautiful exposed, cathedral dark wood ceilings in each room, intricate tile work throughout, 2 beautiful bathrooms with walk in showers, and a layout which gave plenty of room for fellowship but also privacy when needed. The location was ideal. We spent the first few days driving and exploring various beaches and towns in the area but the last few days we stayed right at Playa Pelada, a 8 min walk, (or 2 min drive) from the house. (There are two parking areas to this beach, one closer to the house and one, more public, closer to 2 awesome beachfront restaurants. By the way, we rented a beach umbrella at the Frog Pad for the week which was absolutely essential (in addition to to sunscreen). We went zip lining and horseback riding, and ate out a few times (our favorite was La Luna) but we also bought food to cook breakfast and lunch (mostly smoothies) back at the house with its fully appointed kitchen. With all the activities, however, we all agreed our highlight was getting to the beautiful beach, enjoying the sun, ocean, swimming in the waves and exploring the tidepools at low tide, and returning back to Paraisito each evening. A truly relaxing and refreshing vacation. P.S. A special thank you to the owners and caretakers who answered many questions very quickly and gave great advice for activities and transport logistics to make our stay one of the best vacations we have had as a family.)"

  • Playa Guiones

"Beautiful home in a perfect location. Walk to the amazing; rent bikes and ride to town and various restaurants. The pool was perfect for relaxing and I loved my morning coffee sitting by the pool. AnnMarie was wonderful and always available to answer any questions."

  • Simply Amazing!

"My husband, 8 month old and I just returned from spending 3 weeks in Costa Rica at this perfect character home just a few minutes walk from the beach. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had. The house was absolutely perfect for us. It offers a great shaded outdoor patio and sitting area (great for cocktail hour with friends!) and a gorgeous pool with a waterfall and lots of shade for our little one. The home also came fully equipped with a fully functional kitchen (including all necessary utensils and needs), plenty of towels (GOOD beach/pool towels!), laundry room and air conditioned bedrooms. I also loved that the bedrooms came with mosquito nets which gave me peace of mind for my sleeping 8 month old. Unfortunately, like many places, Costa Rica suffers from petty theft but we felt very secure with the 24 hour security gate and guards. The owners and local property managers were incredibly responsive and went out of their way to ensure us a comfortable stay. Another highlight of the house was it's incredible proximity to the beach. Every day we would pack a bag and a cooler and walk down the short path to the beach to watch the sunset to cap off the perfect day. There are no homes directly on the beach in Playa Guiones and I have to say that the houses in the Beach Club have one of the quickest access points to the beach! It is also super close to all the fabulous restaurants which we frequented almost every night. All in all, I would highly recommend this rental to anyone and everyone!"

  • Great private cottage near everything

"My husband and I stayed here for 15 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We were here for the end of the dry season so had to deal with nightly water shut-offs (typically from 9pm - 6am) and occasional power outages. Nothing inhibiting at all to our stay. We rented bicycles to get around the village (with surf racks). The roads are very rustic so if you want to go exploring, I HIGHLY recommend renting AWD vehicle or a 4-wheeler. We surfed almost everyday, took may yoga classes at Nosara Yoga Institute, relaxed, etc. The hammocks are really great. The shower(s) had plenty of hot water. Everything in the kitchen and the wifi worked great. The cottage has two other cottages nearby but the plants around the porch help you feel like you are in your own private oasis. One of the neighbors were a really friendly Canadian couple visiting. The other neighbors were not so friendly and had dogs that barked ALL the time. Kind of frustrating at first but we learned to deal with it. The bed is reasonably comfy. It is a firm bed which I like but my husband prefers a softer mattress so he struggled the first few nights to get comfortable. The cottage is very clean and neat. We opted for the a/c which was a really nice break from the heat (mid-90s) and helped us sleep better. The cottage is very secure but you need to bring your things in at night - we left some items drying on the clothesline overnight and had some theft (as did our neighbors). The local food is delicious - fresh pineapple, coconut, watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, mangoes and other fresh veggies. I highly recommend checking out Tibidabo. It was an excellent Spanish Tapas restaurant. The prices of things in this area are fairly high for Latin America. Expect to pay American prices. Almost everyone speaks english here. The sunsets are AMAZING and it's a great time to surf. When you get to Guiones Beach, take a left and walk 100-300 meters for waves. These waves are great for novice surfing. The waves to the right are much larger and stronger - where the good surfers go. They are really fun to watch! This is a great beach for all levels surfing. Playa Pelada, just north is a really nice beach to visit and hang at with 2 restaurants with beach views and cool rocky ledges along the beach to explore. Take the beach there at low tide. All in all, a fantastic stay. Jason, the owner was very easy to communicate with as well as Virginie and Ivan, the property managers."
