  • Merry Christmas

"My family had an amazing week at Casa Colina. The lovely villa is spacious and more than comfortable for a family, and we had more room than we needed! With two daughters aged 5 and 8, the beautiful pool and beach were the major hits of Bahia Pez Vela. We loved the safe, secure complex as well as the privacy of the secluded beach. Our mornings were spent eating breakfast and watching the birds fly over the patio. Our daughters were tickled that there were howler monkeys in the trees behind the villa on several occasions. We opted not to rent a car due to the easy availability of taxis and transportation. We took a day trip to the Tempisque river, where our children were delighted to see many kinds of animals up close. We also hired a driver to take us to a local waterfall and the animal rescue outside of Liberia. Cesar arranged all of that for us and we had great experiences. The restaurant on site, Picante, had the most delicious ceviche we've ever had. I had at least one serving a day! Our kids bonded immediately with Cesar and Jackie in the main office, and Juan and Cesar in the restaurant. The night before we left we had to go give everyone hugs. We miss them already, and can't wait to go back."

  • Two visits, two exceptional experiences

"I recently returned from my second visit to Mary's gorgeous villa in Costa Rica. I was one of a party of six and we all had an amazing trip. With all of the choices of vacation destinations in the world, there is a reason why I/we would choose the same place multiple times. Lets start with the owner; Mary is a pleasure to work with during the booking/confirming process, and throughout the interim period checks in and sends out helpful information regarding local activities, etc. The office staff on site, led by Ceasar, are smiley, professional, and attentive to every little question. A minor maintenance issue was dealt with quicker than I could ever have hoped, and Ceasar followed up with an "is everything good now?" phone call minutes later. The landscaping is lush, green, and tropical even though this part of Costa Rica, at this time of year, is particularly dry. There is what seems like a small army of gardeners swarming over the grounds at all times, tidying, watering, planting, and smiling with a "buenos dias!" greeting. The house is well laid out, private, and boasts an AMAZING view of the Pacific Ocean from the pool deck, master bedroom balcony, and the rest of the ocean-facing side of the house. The kitchen is well equipped to make nearly any meal (even a crockpot!!), and the pool is clean, cool, and maintained by a silent pool guy every other morning at 6am. The beach, about 100 yards down the driveway, is of black sand and is clean and pretty. The on-site restaurant, Picante, serves up fresh local seafood, tasty cocktails, and more. The staff's smiles are seeming etched on their faces, and no request, even a dairy allergy, seems to flummox them! So if you are looking for a vacation where you can sit on your butt and watch the monkeys, birds, and boats go by, or where you can head off for horseback riding, ATV'ing, fishing, zip lining, or hiking adventures, this is the place to be! Trust me, I will be going back ASAP!"

  • Christmas Awesomess!!

"Our stay at Villa Vista de Oro was incredible. Our entire family of 11 spent the week of Christmas here and it was full of awesomeness. The villa is absolutely beautiful and meticulously maintained by an incredible staff. It has 180 degree views of the ocean complete with beautiful sunsets and great breezes. We had the pleasure of monkeys on a few mornings out the front door. The birds were all very entertaining as well. Four of the bedrooms had splendid ocean views and the “bunk” room upstairs had great jungle views. Every bathroom was jaw dropping gorgeous. I cannot rave enough about the staff and the all-inclusive aspect of this villa. Isabel was a savior with her fluent English. She arranged for smooth pickup and drop off of family coming in from the Ohio, Oregon and England! She arranged for all of our tours and shopping excursions with expert precision. Isabel was there every day to meal plan with us and answer any questions what so ever. What a beautiful person she is and a pleasure to talk to and visit with. And I can’t say enough about the all-inclusive way this villa is run. This method takes all of the hassle out of everything. There was always plenty of beer, wine, water, food, whatever we needed. Isabel even made a special “coffee run” to get us coffee to take home. Chef Jose cooked us 3 wonderful, delicious meals everyday with fantastic desserts as well. He even accommodated one of our family members that had dietary restrictions. Jose Mario kept the pool spotless, our drink glasses full and even protected us from a possum in a tree that was driving the dogs crazy one night, haha. Costa Ricans celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve so we wanted to give them the night off. Chef Jose and the staff prepared our entire dinner ahead of time so all we had to do was just grill it up and serve it. Complete with a delicious, festive dessert of course. No aspect went unforgotten. Isabel arranged for us to go fishing (caught a huge Mahi Mahi), paddle boarding, sail/snorkel cruising and shopping. She even accompanied us to the local rodeo that was in a nearby town. What a great experience that was! I shouldn’t forget about the local rescue Monkey Farm either. Very interesting and worth the visit. Everything was perfect and you just can’t put a price on being able to spend quality family time together with no hassles. I would certainly recommend this wonderful villa to anyone."

  • Amazing Villa!!

"We just returned to MN after spending 7 nights at the Flying V Villa. The villa was beautiful! After a full day of travel, customs and dealing with renting a car, we were welcomed to the villa with a care package. We really appreciated all of the information on local restaurants, shopping, activities, etc that Verda had emailed to us and was also waiting for us at the villa. We snorkeled almost every day - what a treat! Fishing with Raffeal, George and Freddy was great too - we caught several black fin tuna and a couple of Rooster Fish (50+ lbs each). The Adventure Tour is a must. There was everything we needed in the villa to cook many of our meals. However, we also enjoyed dinner and snacks at the Picante. I can honestly say that I had tears in my eyes when leaving the villa and saying goodbye to Ceasar and Jackie. If we ever make it back to Costa Rica - this is where we will stay!"
