"My boyfriend and I were above satisfied with the guesthouse! Ben and Glenna (the housekeeper) were extremely helpful and accommodating! The cute and cozy cabina has everything you need while giving you the true vibe of Costa, to live simply. We rarely ate out but instead shopped at the local grocery store just a short 7-10 min drive down the road and cooked all our meals at home. The cabina was cleaned regularly and the cleaner did an awesome job, we also loved the dogs, Elvis and Bessie. They were super friendly and greeted us whenever we got home, they also made us feel much safer at night, If you were awake you could hear Elvis doing his watchdog rounds. The beach was amazing! Short walk either down the Las Olas boardwalk or through the river mouth. The waves were also amazing as my boyfriend is a surfer and this was the perfect location to travel both ways up and down the coast in search of waves. Howler monkeys live nearby as well as all sorts of amazing wildlife and vegetation. We did two tours from here, the tour group "Anywhere Costa Rice" will actually pick you up from the hotel next door which was awesome and convenient and they have many options to pick from. All in all, we loved the guesthouse and wish we didn't have to leave!"Guest: Kaity and Barrett Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 16, 2014View listing
"My family of 7 stayed at Casa Temoana for 8 days at the end of October. The villa is located in a gated community called Hacienda Pinilla just over an hour away from the airport and 10 minute drive from Tamarindo. Within HP community you will find the JW Marriott, another hotel called La Posada, a Beach Club, private condos, villas, a golf course, tennis courts, horse stables, and beautiful beaches. You definitely need a car to get around from the airport to the villa and if you want to go into town to get groceries. The location was perfect for our needs as you have a private villa but also access to all the hotels and amenities. There was no extra charge to use the hotel facilities or the Beach Club and Marcelo the owner was kind enough to arrange a 20% discount on food, beverages and any other services. When we got to Casa Temoana we were welcomed by Marcelo to show us around and answer any questions. Its a very unique villa designed by Marcelo's daughter who is an architect. The villa is open concept that incorporates the outdoors in where all of the glass doors slide open overlooking the beautiful pool and waterfall in the backyard. There are four bedrooms and bathrooms with a Master on the first floor which has an incredible en-suite. The villa came with fully equipped kitchen, stainless steel appliances, built in water filter, all cooking utensils, dishware, BBQ, TV, games, DVD, stereo system with an ipod dock, WiFi, towels, linens, tanning beds etc. Marcelo has grand kids and was kind enough to leave a pack n' play, pool toys, a jogging stroller for my baby which certainly made travels easier. The stay included a maid Erika 6 days a week from 7 to 2pm, who can cook a traditional Costa Rican breakfast or something quick for lunch, which was an added bonus. The pool in the backyard is ozonated which is a lot healthier than chlorine and we loved spending our mornings and evenings swimming around and exercising in the pool and having dinners outdoors under the palapa. The closest beach to the villa is at the Marriott within walking distance, there is one at the Beach Club and another beach called Langosta which you need a car to get too. There are rocks at the beach but all have clear sandy areas perfect for swimming. Overall we felt right at home as if we have lived there for years. On our last night we ran into Marcelo and invited him for dinner, he is truly an amazing and kind man who made our trip unforgettable."Guest: Olesy A. "I would rather not tell anyone about this home just in case everyone on this Site wants to rent it when I want to rent it next time. Casa Nibana was exactly that, Nirvana. Every aspect of our trip was perfect and the home was the best part. Rare in life are things better than they appear. Casa Nibana was better than the pictures. Thanks a million times over, we will return!!!!!"Guest: KJ Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 13, 2014View listing
"We didn t know what to expect as it was our 1rst trip to Costa Rica. I loved the pictures of the house and I was not disappointed at all. What a dream house to take a break ! The terrace is huge and we enjoyed it everyday and every evening for sunset. We got to see a lot of monkeys, beautiful colorful birds and even an 'armadillo'. Anna the housekeeper is so sweet and patient. She taught us some Spanish. She keeps the house very clean. We stayed there a lot and enjoyed the pool. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who want to experience Costa Rica. Thank you for letting us stay there."Guest: peter p. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 26, 2014View listing
Playa Avellanas Travel Tips
Attractions Near Playa Avellanas Vacation Rentals
Playa Avellanas travel offers some fun activities and attractions to enjoy. The beach itself is a great place to relax and forget about the cares of life. The Hacienda Pinilla Beach Resort offers an expansive 18-hole championship golf course to enjoy. Another interesting site is the beach's resident 880 pound pig named Lola that casually wanders the area to bathe in the sun. The stretch of beaches provide beautiful white sand that makes the ocean water appear turquoise, or rocky areas that results in fantastic tide pools.
Playa Avellanas Travel Is Ideal for Surfers
Right outside your Playa Avellanas vacation rental you will find that the beach is ideal for surfers. Expert and professional surfers travel from all over the world to take advantageof the right and left surf breaks of the Pacific Ocean. In fact, the locals call Playa Avellanas "Little Hawaii" because of the fantastic surfing swells that form near perfect tubes when the tide is high. Due to these strong currents, swimming at Playa Avellanas is not recommended, but if you're not a surfer you can take a relaxing horseback ride along the shore or watch the sunset over the water from the local beach side bar.
Guanacaste Beach Homes for a Relaxing Getaway
Nothing says relaxing like miles of shoreline and fantastic Costa Rican culture. The region gets its name for the native Guanacaste tree. Whether you plan Playa Avellanas travel or intend to stay at any number of Guanacaste beach homes available in the region, there is plenty to see and do. The northern section of Guanacaste is lined with spectacular volcanoes that connect with the Cordillera de Guanacaste and Cordillera de Tilaran mountain ranges. Liberia is among the larger cities in the Guanacaste region and you certainly can't go wrong with the beach activities available such as snorkeling, birdwatching, horseback riding and wind surfing.
