  • Great and Beautiful Location!

"My husband and I stayed at the Casa Rojo 6 out if 10 days of our honeymoon. It is the perfect size for a couple. It's located in the jungle, very private and safe. Andreas was very friendly and extremely helpful! He speaks fluent English, which was good for us, who speak no Spanish.. Solomon, the care taker, was very nice. We love that its rural and not very touristy. It's is located within a few miles from 4-5 different beaches, which are absolutely beautiful! Right outside the gate we saw a troop of howler monkeys which included a mother and baby. Charlie's in Matapalo has a good menu and drinks. In Brasalito, there's a great restaurant (can't remember the name) to the left before you enter the beach. Kevin who works there also owns a tour company. We loved the ATV tour. You are about a 10-15 min drive from a little surfing community called Playa Granda/Pirate Beach. It was one of our favorite places. You have to go to Kiki's Place, they have a great food an awesome venue."

  • amazing!

"Where do I begin? Villa Selmina is beautiful and even nicer than the picture on the web site. Our family stayed here for our first trip to Costa Rica, and definitely made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The property is exactly as described on the web site, even nicer in person. It is clean and well maintained. There is ample privacy, and yet it is comfortably situated on the grounds of Reservo Conchal. The kitchen is modern, the appliances all in perfect condition. The individual bedrooms are all large, each with their own bathroom and all very private, perfect for kids or a couple. Housekeeping was great, coming every day of our stay. The pool is beautiful, the water incredibly clean. It was perfect for relaxing after dinner The home is situated on probably the prettiest hole of Reservo Conchal's golf course, and even though it is on the golf course, privacy is well maintained by the foliage. The location of Reservo Conchal is great for vacationing in Costa Rica. The property has an excellent beach club with a large lap pool, golf course, and all the extra amenities someone looks for on vacation. It’s an easy drive to Playa Grande and Play Negra for surfing. It is also close to multiple supermarkets that carry an excellent array of products. Special Places and Collen who manages the property were great and very responsive to any of our requests. I can’t recommend this property highly enough! We would definitely return, with our family or with other couples. It is the home you always dreamed of having! Enjoy!"

  • Perfect family destination and accommodations

"We spent a wonderful 12 days here, as a family of four with two small ages (2.5 and 4.5). The condo is very spacious, and the master bedroom was a luxury for my husband and me. Very clean & modern. All the amenities that make life easier with small kids were here: washer/dryer, full kitchen, 2 full baths (with bathtub), WiFi, lots of space. The kids loved it, and there was a lot to do: the smaller infinity pool of the condo area; the larger pool (with kid areas) in the beach club; the largest pool in the hotel area; the Playa Conchal beach. All of this was very kid friendly. We also rented a car and visited several nearby beaches: Playa Avellanas, Playa Ocotol, Playa Negra. We did the Palo Verde River tour, and the kids got to feed monkeys that came right onto our boat, plus see crocodiles, followed by an amazing typical Costa Rican meal prepared at a family's home. We also went to Arenal Volcano and stayed one night at Tabacon Hot Springs and visited the Denaus Ecological Sanctuary, where we saw a beautiful butterfly garden, different types of frogs, and other wildlife. It's very safe to travel here, and the country has made a major effort to ensure that the population speaks English. We were so impressed with the high levels of English fluency everywhere we went. The restaurants all catered well to kids, too (including the Beach Club). Our kids are finicky eaters, but we were pleased to find chicken fingers and french fries nearly everywhere we went. And some restaurants even had small indoor kid play areas where the kids were very entertained! The condo was a perfect "home base" for us as we pursued our adventures. The people at the resort (and really, everywhere we went) are friendly and warm. The roads have greatly improved since we were last here 5 years ago, and we had no trouble driving around (although still recommend renting a 4x4). We have now been here three times: once for our honeymoon, once as a married couple when I was pregnant with our first, and now once with 2 small kids. Each time we've immensely enjoyed it, and I believe it has something for everyone. Even teenagers would enjoy the beaches, eco-activities, and fun restaurants and towns. Also, staying at the condo allows the luxury of NOT having to deal with people who are on vacation just to do an all-inclusive booze/food binge. (Actually, I didn't see those types at the hotel resort area either!) In sum, highly recommend for all ages, including for families w/ small kids!!"

  • Phenomenal Villa for anyone!!

"My husband and I recently visited Costa Rica and stayed at this BEAUTIFUL villa. We have never stayed in anything this nice before, not even on our honeymoon. The villa is very spacious, yet the layout is perfect and has that "homey" feel to it. Our favorite part about the villa was the infinity pool. It was so nice to have our private pool when we didn't feel like going to the public one or the beach. The Villa has surround sound speakers so you can plug in a phone and play music throughout the house which is awesome. The beds were extremely comfortable because they had memory foam mattresses (at least the master bedroom did). We loved having a kitchen so we could cook meals on days that we didn't feel like dining out. The property is extremely clean and there is a cleaning lady that comes every other day. The concierge (property managers) were very helpful, they helped book our tours and get us taxis when we went into town. We chose the sunset cruise and the water rafting tours which both exceeded our expectations. The property is located in a gated community which is on the same grounds as the Westin hotel, so you have access to the beach, pools and restaurants. There is a free shuttle that can take you to the beach or you can enjoy a nice 2 mile walk down to these amenities. The location is perfect, close to other beaches such as playa avellanas and playa grande which are great for surfing and it is about 15 minutes from Tamarindo which has shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Just past flamingo beach there is a place called Las Catalinas which is a beautiful outdoor restaurant with swings, hammocks, couches, lawn chairs, corn hole and they serve great cocktails and food. Another place we enjoyed for lunch was Lolas, which was located on playa avellanas. I enjoyed a few beers and read my book in a hammock while watching my husband surf. So relaxing! I would recommend this property to anyone! My husband and I enjoyed our alone time and having this place to ourselves, however we both agreed that it would have been great to have a few other couples with us b/c it was spacious enough for a big group. We hope to get the chance to come back to this beautiful villa again!"
