"The house is perfectly located. Short walk to the beach and close to the grocery store. The pool area is great and we liked the layout of the house. We were there during the Easter week but it was never that busy. All in all a great place to stay."

"WOW!! What an amazing trip that was! Our group of 9 family members (ages 3 to 60 with a very pregnant daughter-in-law), spent 9 beautiful days/nights at this amazing beach house. Our family highly recommends this place. Not only is the house remarkable, but it was truly a beautiful experience working with the terrific team supporting this residence. On our first call, Greg was so passionate about his beach house and CR and we were only researching!
Then we met Miriam and Nicho (caretakers) on our arrival! They were just as passionate as Greg! Interestingly, they spoke almost zero English and our group only knew a few Spanish words, but through their enthusiasm/warmth, we communicated with no misunderstanding. They are simply wonderful people! And so is Damaris who was outstanding at cleaning and doing our laundry. These folks are humble and always had a big smile on their faces. There was no “sour” service people here as is not unusual on such trips. Our contact was less with Erik, the night guard, but he was also very pleasant and respectful.
We also met Gabriella and Daniella (Greg’s wife/daughter). I still fondly recall the few times they stopped over and we sat on our beach porch and it honestly felt like we were catching up with old friends!
We are thankful we took Greg’s recommendation and worked with Gabriella in arranging 2 rental cars. She bailed us out more than once…these agencies really try to suck every dollar out of you (Greg can tell you more about this). Daniella was so helpful with planning our trips to the volcano, zip lining, crocodile tour, diving and surfing.
Bottom line, this is a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Every day felt like we owned the entire beach (there was a handful of folks - locals and tourists). We spent hours on the patio, reading, writing, conversing, or simply chilling and watching/hearing the waves of the powerful Pacific Ocean at work. When eating in, why eat anywhere else but on the patio? Most of us also had great massages from Christina on the patio/beach.
To ensure you make the most of your trip and have a great time, be sure to read and follow all the terrific info and guidance Greg provides about your stay at Casa and in CR. It was invaluable to us, especially being our first trip there.
Our family would most definitely return to CasaDelMar! Thanks Greg, Gabriella and team for helping us create wonderful family memories that we will carry for 2 lifetimes like my brother said!"

"Our group of nine (2 families with boys aged 9 to 16), stayed at the Frijoles Locos apartments for our whole 2 weeks in Costa Rica. Ever since the get-go, Corynne was wonderful in responding to our numerous questions about life in Grande and also the different activities we wanted to take part in.
First off, the setup is the best for either 1 or 2 families. We would each have our own apartment, which were well furnished. AC worked A1, we did a lot of cooking and had everything we needed, beds were super comfortable, Wifi worked awesome for the kids (for when we were not at the beach). The pool was great to relax in after tough day surfing.
We also took in seven days of surf lessons for the kids and the adults. As first time surfers, we were driven to the beach in the great beach taxis in order to catch the best waves. Our master instructor Ian stayed further out with the boys who were catching great waves and had a blast. The parents stayed closer to shore catching smaller but fun waves with either JC, Andreas or Sebastien, all great instructors. Each instructor would share their tricks and by the end of our 2 weeks, we were catching great waves.
Staying above the surf shop was great for us as there was always a friendly face available to answer our questions or help us order some yummy fish and veggies from the local suppliers. The kids would also get a bunch of high fives and smiles as they would come across their surf instructors. The crew at Frijoles Locos really made us feel like we were part of the family. Our youngest grew attached to Loca the dog, who actually stayed a couple of nights with us.
We always felt safe staying at Frijoles and we also had diner at El Huerto and Kike's Place right around the corner, two great options to give us a break from cooking.
If you are looking for a nice quiet surf town with great waves, beautiful sunsets, far from the commercial hustle, this is THE place.
All nine of us are unanimous in saying that this was one of the best vacations we have ever had in such a beautiful part of the world."

"9 of us went to Playa Grande for 9 days. 5 of them being teenagers. Everyone loved everything about this house. We can not wait to go back. We try to go on a different vacation every year, but this one will certainly be a repeat. The owner is east to work with and the caretakers are great. The waves were only a 3 minute walk for all of our surfers and boogey boarders. Next door is a great restaurant Seven and a small convenience store that has everything you could possibly need."
