"Stayed for 2 weeks with my 3 teens and my husbands parents. PERFECT! Modern! We took the second level and everyone had their own space, even my only daughter had a her own bed and area (the sitting room upstairs). My in-laws had the main floor so they had their own bathroom and could get up earlier.... There are 3 bathrooms with lots of hot water pressure. The master suite bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in my life. Very clean and everything you need. Even have the option to have groceries delivered before you get there. This is a very safe place to stay. Owner was helpful and all payments directly were fine. He has an agency that looks after the cleaning and maintenance while you are there.
Make sure you book surf lessons and rentals with Frijoles Locos Surf (super close) great service!
Also worth every penny excursions even if you only do 1 thing, do this! (book early): Javier (bi-lingual) lovingcostarica.com
A few minor comments to make 110%: a table and chairs on the upstairs balcony would be nice to enjoy the nights. Provided lawn chairs and enough towels for sleeping max to take to the beach should also be provided as there are no chairs at the beach.
NOTE: You need to rent a car for this location. We used a mini SUV from Vamos from the Liberia airport which was great and provided a complimentary emergency cell phone. Strapped luggage to the top and could fit all 7 of us comfortably and reasonably priced. Remember this is a developing country, wi-fi and power is not always running during wind storms. Roads were in good condition. No mosquitos except when we went on the Palo Verde tour (where I got 60 bites without feeling them until after...)
You will love this place.
Also we had to use the emergency clinic close by (there are 2, one is 24hr but they are connected) for an unexpected kidney stone and the service was amazing AND in English."

"This property was perfect...it had all the amenities such as A/C, fans, hot water, pool, outdoor covered patio, fully stocked kitchen, king beds, laundry, etc
We always seek privacy, which this has, and to be close to the beach (10 minute leisurely walk). You can't really get much closer than that in this area. You are in walking distance to the mini-market and several restaurants. It is a very private location.
It was super easy to arrange rental agreement and check in. The owner and property manager were always timely in their communications.
We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return! Both the house and the property are beautiful!

Amazing secluded beach getaway with all the comforts of home!
"My husband and I were so thrilled that casa que pasa was available for our last minute vacation. We needed a week of rest and relaxation on a beach - and we got that and much more! The house is beautiful, with a fantastic kitchen which offers an amazing view of the jungle as you cook. Everything was clean and bright, and the bed was super comfortable. The balcony overlooking the walk to the beach is a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, evening wine, and to spot the monkey family.
We decided to try surfing, so we rented a few boards from a surf school down the road. The 1 min walk to the beach made it extremely convenient for us to go surfing 2 times a day. The beach is fantastic for beginner surfers - no rocks or coral, easy waves (and some harder ones if you're an expert).
After our morning surf we would walk to the estuary to get a boat ride into Tamarindo (for $1). We'd head home, have a nap, surf again, and then head out to one of the local restaurants within walking distance.
Casa Que Pasa has everything - the comforts of home, beach, jungle, restaurants, and a little grocery store all within walking distance. In short, it was a perfect getaway and we can't wait to return!"

"We are terribly sad to see this week come to an end. There is so much left to do so we must plan our next visit. I think Casa Mandarina would be an excellent place for a crowd. Marcia is an amazing cook! Authentic Costa Rican cuisine everyday, breakfast lunch dinner, when we weren't out on the best adventures, organized by Marjolet! Many thanks to Marjolet for getting us on personalized tours with Don Grant, the owner of Get Lost In Costa Rica (# 1 in Trip Advisor for Costa Rica). Now that we have been here, our next trip will be even better! Turtle tour, River Tour, Zip lining, horseback riding, waterslide, mud bath, swim in natural hot springs heated by volcano, and endless fun and relaxation at Casa Mandarina and Playa Grande beach!
This is our last day. After our breakfast, we walked the beach and saw where a giant Leatherback turtle came ashore over night to nest and return to the sea. Then noticed a baby Leatherback trying to make its way to sea. What an experience for the kids and us, right out the back door of Casa Mandarina!
Thanks Nova, Marjolet, Marcia and Oscar!
