  • Love this place!

"We couldn't have found a more relaxing place to get away! Kelly and David's home in Playa Grande far exceeding our expectations! I feel SO rejuvenated after spending a week in their paradise. I love that there is such an awesome alternative to crowded beaches and hotels. From the beach, you wouldn't even know that anyone lives here, yet you are actually just steps away from the surf. I love the soothing natural sounds that lure you to sleep at night - what an incredible change from city sounds. I enjoyed taking the walk to the other end of the beach for yoga classes. For anyone wanted to get re-attuned to nature, this is an awesome place. You'll feel revitalized on all levels - body, mind and spirit. AND don't forget to go for a night walk. If you REALLY want to see what the stars look like - take you beach towel down to the beach AFTER dark - and soak in god's wonder. We'll be back for sure!!! Thanks Kelly and David for sharing this very special place with us. You're the best! Rebecca"

  • Amazing place to stay-with the best pool!

"Our family of 4 stayed at this beautiful property for 10 days. The pool was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations in size and cleanliness. Mike, the thoughtful owner, came by every morning before 6 to clean the pool. The gardens surrounding the home were beautiful and made it very private! The beach was one of the best we have ever been to. Perfect for both children and avid surfers. It was also nice to be away from the more crowded Tamarindo beach. There were amazing dining options close and we also prepared our own meals. We would definitely stay here again!!!!"

  • Michigan Couple Finds Paradise!

"This property was perfect...it had all the amenities such as A/C, fans, hot water, pool, outdoor covered patio, fully stocked kitchen, king beds, laundry, etc We always seek privacy, which this has, and to be close to the beach (10 minute leisurely walk). You can't really get much closer than that in this area. You are in walking distance to the mini-market and several restaurants. It is a very private location. It was super easy to arrange rental agreement and check in. The owner and property manager were always timely in their communications. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return! Both the house and the property are beautiful! Thank you! Nicole & Joe"

  • Perfect, fantastic beach house,

"Casa Kalumina is a place of unexpected adventures and luxurious silences, of being greeted by name the second time you stop for breakfast at the surf school down the street, and enjoying vegetarian pizza while listening to a live jazz/reggae trio a five-minute stroll from the front door – under a cloudless canopy of a billion stars. If I sound a little over enthusiastic, trust me, I haven't scratched the surface. We stayed with two other couples and a single friend and each had spacious, private accommodations. It seemed twice as many would be an easy fit with a little communal spirit. A gorgeous, lush garden ensures absolute privacy. The house is thoughtfully laid out with well-appointed kitchen, bathrooms, and spacious common areas including a breezy covered deck with a seductive hammock secreted over the garage. The beds are comfortable and the furnishings tasteful but practical. Friendly and unobtrusive folks tend to the pool and grounds so everything is always groomed and inviting. There was never a bit of trash on the huge beach unless you count the thousands of seashells. There were very few other people on the beach. I never noticed any biting insects. About a half-hour walk up the beach is a turtle museum, a yoga studio, and a nice bar/restaurant with fine, spicy Bloody Marys. Casa Kalumina is a treasure; enjoy it. You will not want to leave. Pura Vida. Pure life!"
