"When I say beach front I mean BEACH FRONT! The private beach is only a few yards from the house! We stayed here July 2015 and couldn't have asked for anything better. The house is comfortable and every bedroom has its own bath. We hardly saw anyone on the beach, only surfers out in the water. They do offer surf lessons right in front of the house for a minimal cost which we did and had a blast. Tamarindo is a short walk down the beach and a one minute boat ride across the inlet. The house was clean and kept up. Monkeys inhabit the trees in the front yard which we got to see. The pool is a good size and well maintained. I would totally recommend this location for your Costa Rica getaway! The only negative I would say is that the road in front of the house is less to be desired ( in other words, have good shocks!) but everything else makes up for that!"

"The house is perfectly located. Short walk to the beach and close to the grocery store. The pool area is great and we liked the layout of the house. We were there during the Easter week but it was never that busy. All in all a great place to stay."

"We had a terrific time at Casa Baula. Just loved it. Surf was really good and we were in the water out front or down the beach surfing most of the trip. The restaurants were so great, and we loved the town. The ping-ping table was a super-big surprise hit. We all love to play and so ended up having some "high-stakes" competitive round-robin tourneys each evening after dinner! Corynne and Ian at Frijolos Locos Surf Shop were super, and we spent a lot of time at their shop (airline demo'd my board so i dropped it off for repair when I got there and rented until it was fixed; They did a great job repairing and getting it water tight); and they had great boards to rent, excellent gear, very cool apparel, etc.
All of the logistics that concierge Corynne organized and set up went off without a hitch; she was really great!
And best of all, Casa Baula is the perfect place to stay in Playa Grande. Fantastic house, set in one of the most beautiful parts of the world we've ever been. Right on the beach, and the beach is truly spectacular. Restaurants nearby are amazing, and everyone in town was super friendly. Can't wait to get back!"

"I have traveled in Costa Rica and in Guanacaste'/Playa Grande, for over 15 years . I typically stay at a very good friends VRBO in Palm Beach Estates but he and his family were occupying the unit thus I opted for Playa Grande Casitas. My wife and I have admired the semi modern look and layout of the property for years as we drive right by it. As a mid 40's surfer that likes play hard there are some none negotiables' my wife and i need while traveling..... A good quality firm bed, functioning air conditioning, clean linens , and a functioning kitchen . Playa Grande casitas has all of this and more ! I can say this will be our go to place in the future. The owner ( Roger) and the property manager ( Manfred) were very kind and true to their word. Roger returned emails and answered questions while setting up our reservations and Manfred was a great host , a very kind man and very accommodating. Our Casita met and exceeded our expectations. The outdoor kitchen and deck were brilliant ! No food odors in the dwelling and we enjoyed coffee and meals out on the deck surrounded by the natural beauty and view of the beautiful pool. This small detail ( the outdoor kitchen and balcony) proved to be a highlight of our trip, a great place to relax and enjoy our meals. The room was clean, bed was firm and comfortable, sheets were clean and WIFI was dependable and powerful. The bathroom was a good size with a large shower....The water was adequately hot and easily accessible windows allowed cross ventilation.. The staff that cleans the rooms and the pool and grounds were awesome. Very nice folks that we quickly got to know and be friends with. Additionally, my 82 year old mother stayed in the lower level casita for about 4 days during our trip and she was completely pleased with the accommodations as well...She can't wait to go back. To sum things up.....For our active lifestyle and love of the natural beauty of Costa Rica with all the creature comforts needed this is and will be our new home away from home."
