  • Wonderful stay

"We stayed at this condo for the month of Feb. and fell in love with it so much so that we are going back for the month of Feb. / 2016.😄 The condo was equipped with everything we needed and anything we didn't have the owner was more than helpful to accommodate us. It's the perfect spot around an awesome center pool away from the busyness of Tamorindo which is a nice walk down the beach .Love love love it"

  • What a beauty

"Thanks to Kai and Ruth ( sorry never met you!) we were on a whirl and Casa Linda Vista was Wonderful! You have an amazing piece of your own paradise Kai! You were hospitable inviting and warm! Wish we stayed the month but our 2 nights was all we could squeeze into our fantastic CR vaca! Love the walking paths and your foliage! Loved the comfortable house and the views! The upstairs deck was my go to when we were home...coffee in the am and sips of wine or cold refreshing water and tea in the eve! Easily hands down a winner! Walked and biked to the beach, ate at Rip Jacks, Bula Bula for cocktails and just down the driveway at El Heurto! Also managed a low tide bike ride from our beach area to Tamarindo ( with help from the local motor boats!) hung out pretty much at Nocuis while our kids biked around/swam/shopped and then we biked back via Frijoles locos suggestion of water taxi to Bula Bula! Biked the road from there! So fun! Live love be happy! That's life in Playa Grande"

  • Wonderful Villa, thank you!

"We are two families from Canada, a group of 10 and spent 9 nights over New Years Eve at this Villa. We booked this home based on the reviews. It certainly lived up to all the great comments. It is spacious, plenty of room for everyone; however the bedrooms are not very private, the kids with you in loft. I won't repeat all the good stuff everyone else has said, so I'll just add to it. Groceries, wine, and beer all readily available at Super Compro in Huacas; you pass right through from the Liberia airport; an easy 1.15 hour drive. We arrived at night, and just got a bit lost right near the end but managed to find it. We enjoyed walking to restaurants for dinner. There's a new restaurant called Shakas, a wood fired pizza place, Kiki's and taco hut on the beach. All were good. We had Mireya cook 2 authentic CR dinners for us. It was DELICIOUS! We paid for the groceries and then gave her about $40 tip. She cooked with her daughter, and they were both very friendly. Mireya doesn't speak any English, but her daughter and son helped. We booked one trip through her son (as previously said in comments) to an adventure place; zip lines, white water tubing, horseback riding, mud baths, hot baths. It was a full day, very enjoyable. We had some trouble communicating to Carlos and I think we both misunderstood. The trip was $800 US. We thought we could pay him when we got home so we didn't have to carry all that cash. But when we arrived by his bus, he wanted the cash. They didn't take Visa. So we figured it out eventually and the day was good, but be very clear with him. After that, we drove our own car to different activities. We went in a boat up the Estuary and saw monkeys, crocodiles and birds. We went hiking near the volcano and swam in 3 different waterfalls. We took a night tour of a secluded beach and saw the big turtles laying eggs, and a nest of baby turtles emerging and running to the ocean. That was the highlight of our trip! All in all, it was a fantastic trip! Just a few words of caution as stated in previous comments; the only rental car company that had any cars was Alamo. We booked a month ahead from Canada and put a deposit. They didn't have our car or my sister's car. We were stuck! So they eventually found a Toyota Rav4 (very old, standard) and in the end it cost us $1800 CA. My sister ended up at Budget with a SUV and spent about $1500 CA. VERY EXPENSIVE! That was really the only bad thing that happened."

  • Paradise Found

"This was truly a week in paradise, I only wish we had booked a longer stay! The house was perfect for our 2 families of 4, everyone had their own space but the house also offers plenty of room for us all to eat together, or lounge on the patio or yard. Beach access is right out the back door, to a long, wide uncrowded beach. Sunsets up on top of the "Rock" were fun for the kids (15-23).Plenty of patio furniture and beach lounges to enjoy the outdoors. We saw one turtle on the beach one night, though it wasn't nesting season! The orange and purple crabs are everywhere - it became a nightly ritual of shooing the crabs out of the courtyard (Not an easy task without hurting them)so they wouldn't scurry into our rooms when the doors were opened! All part of the jungle life, it didn't bother us at all. Water pressure in the house is really low at times, but there is a drought right now so it was no problem for us to deal with. House water is safe to drink, we had no problems. We had Kimberly cook 3 dinners for us - she is not only a great cook (Her Arroz con Pollo is amazing!) but she is very helpful in answering questions about the house and the area in general. Taco stand just down the block is great, Bula Bula has a really nice dinner in a beautiful setting, but the stand out meal was at Café del Pueblo, the small restaurant on the left as you're heading out of Playa Grande. Not to miss! We booked an Adventure Tour through Frijoles Locos (Corynne is so nice and very helpful!) at Rincon de la Vieja. $85/pp if you drive yourself, which is a very easy 1 3/4 drive away. It included awesome ziplining through gorgeous river gorge, horseback riding (I would skip this part - unimpressive) and whitewater river tubing - the highlight of or whole trip! Also amazing hot springs and mud bath, and a great buffet lunch. Awesome day, I would HIGHLY recommend! Overall, the house exceeded our expectations. Just remember that you are in a beach house in the jungle so there are critters and sand everywhere. Relax and enjoy! PURA VIDA"
