  • Heavenly Villa - Fabulous Waves -

"Wow! We just got back from two weeks in Costa Rica and spent one of them at this spectacular villa. You'll be stunned as you pull up to the gates. The villa is a Mediterranean masterpiece with beautiful stone and wood accents throughout and a lovely garden and pool. The house and caretakers are wonderful. They're kind and attentive and will cook for you or give you privacy. We took our three kids: ages 16, 14 and 11 and let them spread out in the very large space. What a perfect getaway in a peaceful jungle for a family. The villa would also be great for a girls trip, a multi-generational family getaway or two families. The walk to the beach is short and fun. We loved the surfing and boogey-boarding. Perfect sand. Perfect waves. Lovely for walking and very few people. It was like being on a gorgeous white sand beach in California except that we had it nearly all to ourselves. The water was totally safe for kids. I expected more rain since we went during the rainy season, but we had gorgeous days and breathtaking sunsets, then a couple of fun thunderstorms in the evenings. The back deck is covered and the outdoor kitchen/grill is lovely. We had a great time dining outside. I recommend getting a car to get there. Don't bother paying more for 4-wheel drive. You won't need it. The roads are fine. Once there, you can can settle in and cook for yourselves or walk to restaurants. We loved the Bula Bula! Go for happy hour. If you like to cook, you can shop by water taxi! This was a blast. We walked toward Tamarindo on the beach (about a 15-minute walk) and flagged down a boat. It's $1 each to cross. Once in Tamarindo, you go up the steps, head left or uphill and walk to the Auto Mercado. This is the Whole Foods of Costa Rica and they had a great selection of food, produce and wine. We brought backpacks to the store and loaded our groceries up, then walked back to the boats. On the way back to Playa Grande, it's better to catch the water taxi for $3 each to the Bula Bula instead of walkign back on the beach. You'll have a shorter walk from there to the villa (just three to five minutes). We felt so lucky to have stayed at this lovely villa in Playa Grande. If you're looking for a peaceful spot, this is it. If you want action, you can always head over to Tamarindo for lunch, dinner or a night out, then return to your slice of paradise."

  • Amazing vacation!

"We recently came back from 10 days at Casa Muy Grande. I feel like one of our group said it best, he felt like it wasn't a vacation but a way of life. The house was very comfortable. We had a group of 9 from ages 3 to 80 and all felt at home. The pool was just right for our group as it provided a safe place for the kids to play before we headed out for excursions. The walk to the beach was very short and led to a great non crowded beach perfect for playing in the waves or watching the sunset. We all fell in love with the Playa Grande area. It was very safe and an easy walk to the "grocery store" Wil-Mart for necessities (and some of my favorite coffee and sunscreen which I am still using at home!) There are several restaurants easy walk or drive that were fantastic. The caretakers were lovely and helped us get some coconuts out of the trees in the yard to drink the coconut water. We heard and saw howler monkeys on several occasions in the yard...awesome!"

  • Loved our stay!

"We had a great experience in this beautiful, beachfront home. It was charmingly decorated, clean and right on the beach!! So fun to walk out to the beach and enjoy this incredible place. Would highly recommend this to anyone and felt like it was great value for the size and location of the home. We also loved the recommended restaurants, all-day excursion, and surf lessons! Hope to return someday soon."

  • COULDSTAY4EVER

"My husband and our 2 teenage daughters spent a week at the beach bungalow. We absolutely loved it. We found the bungalow to be very comfortable and truly enjoyed the simplicity of the location. SURF, SURF, SURF! The owner of the property came by to educate us on the home and surroundings which was very helpful. We requested a grill and she dropped one by later. She even called a couple days into our stay to check up on us. We have rented several homes throughout the years and this has never happened. My only recommendation would be to add a place to have dinner as a family. We sat around the coffee table and it worked out. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful casa with us. We were soooooooo sad to have to leave."

Playa Grande Travel Tips

Playa Grande Beach Rentals Are Tropical Paradises

Do more than dream about the tropical paradise of Costa Rica. Instead, book your perfect Playa Grande Beach rentals now to experience the Guanacaste Province and Marino Las Baulas National Park. Every day, you can rise and run down to the pristine shoreline around Playa Grande resorts for a dip in the clear Pacific Ocean. At dusk, set up dinner on the deck, so that you can enjoy the sunset. Vacations in Costa Rica are your dream come true.

Playa Grande Resorts and the Life of the Sea Turtle

Playa Grande resorts and Guanacaste Province are most notable for the endangered leatherback sea turtles that visit each year. These turtles struggle up the sand from the ocean to lay their eggs. Vacations in Costa Rica cannot be complete without a look at the natural park where the turtles are protected. If you cannot make the nesting season, try to come 55 to 75 days after the nesting occurs. During this time, you can walk from Playa Grande Beach rentals to witness the baby turtles emerging from the sand to crawl into the sea.

Surf Vacations in Costa Rica

Vacations in Costa Rica to Playa Grande are also notable for their surfing. The main beach at Playa Grande will see waves of varying heights for all skill levels of surfers. This beach is a lot quieter than Playa Tamarindo though equally as good. You will have to be an early riser most mornings to leave Playa Grande resorts for the ocean waves beckoning you.

Enjoy Tours near Playa Grande Beach Rentals

Vacations to Playa Grande Beach rentals do not have to be all about the beach. You can travel inland to experience eco-tours above the ground. Witness the waterfalls that allow the river to snake its way out to the ocean on a trekking tour of the rainforest.
