  • The best vacation ever

"When renting online you of course pay attention to the description, but also the reviews. After reading the reviews, I thought - how could I go wrong. I was right - this place is a wonderful. This property is cute, eclectic and very rustic. All of the bedrooms have AC, but the main living area didn't. I think the idea is that if you have the front and back sliding doors open, the breeze cools off the living area, however our group was a little crab, hermit crab, lizard adverse so we opted to keep the doors closed most days. This sometimes made it a little warm, but doable. As others have said, Ana and Luis are really wonderful. They speak very little English, but we were able to communicate the big stuff just fine. For the cost, you can't beat having Ana available to cook for you. Our group had her make all of our meals and it was absolutely fantastic. Luis was also very good at keeping the pool and property well kept. He cleaned the pool and raked the beach every day. He was also on hand when a little crab blocked me from going up to my room one evening. Having him around made me feel very safe - he rushed off anyone who tried to come on property and solicit the group ( Ana was also very good at that as well). The only challenge was getting to/from Tamarindo after dark. The water taxis work fine during the day, but at night, there wasn't anything to get to on our own. One night we hired a driver to take us out, but it cost about $100RT ( I told my friend it was an expensive bar crawl). I saw other reviews on the Bula Bula and the Wilmart, but we didn't have any instructions on how to get there, so we relied heavily on Nova for our needs. It would have been nice to have this information written down for little things that we needed like extra water, or soda. I would highly advise against swimming the estuary as there are salt-water crocodiles and apparently they hunt at night. There is a grocery store (Auto-Mercado)in Tamarindo; the ATM dispenses colones and US dollars. Future renters who want to do things in the evening may want to consider getting a car. We saw other tourist who did that and they got around just fine, but as others have said, the roads are bumpy. Nova did a good job with making arrangements to and from airport and with our excursions. There were a couple of hiccups, here and there, but nothing major that would needs to be written about. Overall we had a great experience!"

  • Simply Exceptional!

"My wife and I honeymooned here and I must say the Villa and staff were simply amazing. We have traveled to this part of Costa Rica a few times before but this was the best trip and vacation rental we have stayed in by far. The Villa is in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and has everything one could possibly need and much more. I just can't say enough good things about the place, we will be back next year without a doubt. Pura Vida!"

  • Awesome Beach

"The home exceeded our expectations as did the beach. We have stayed at many different beaches and this was our favorite...sand for miles, warm water, water depth and waves excellent for anyone and we felt very safe. Safe at the beach and at the house. The owners (and definitely don't forget Wilbert and Wil-Mart and Manfred the baker) were very gracious, warm, caring folks that did all they could to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. It was great next to the beach and the pool was enjoyed by all. We felt very safe (was traveling with my children) and just "felt at home" - granted it was a lot warmer there than in Montana at the time. Loved and would stay again for sure."

Playa Grande Travel Tips

Playa Grande Beach Rentals Are Tropical Paradises

Do more than dream about the tropical paradise of Costa Rica. Instead, book your perfect Playa Grande Beach rentals now to experience the Guanacaste Province and Marino Las Baulas National Park. Every day, you can rise and run down to the pristine shoreline around Playa Grande resorts for a dip in the clear Pacific Ocean. At dusk, set up dinner on the deck, so that you can enjoy the sunset. Vacations in Costa Rica are your dream come true.

Playa Grande Resorts and the Life of the Sea Turtle

Playa Grande resorts and Guanacaste Province are most notable for the endangered leatherback sea turtles that visit each year. These turtles struggle up the sand from the ocean to lay their eggs. Vacations in Costa Rica cannot be complete without a look at the natural park where the turtles are protected. If you cannot make the nesting season, try to come 55 to 75 days after the nesting occurs. During this time, you can walk from Playa Grande Beach rentals to witness the baby turtles emerging from the sand to crawl into the sea.

Surf Vacations in Costa Rica

Vacations in Costa Rica to Playa Grande are also notable for their surfing. The main beach at Playa Grande will see waves of varying heights for all skill levels of surfers. This beach is a lot quieter than Playa Tamarindo though equally as good. You will have to be an early riser most mornings to leave Playa Grande resorts for the ocean waves beckoning you.

Enjoy Tours near Playa Grande Beach Rentals

Vacations to Playa Grande Beach rentals do not have to be all about the beach. You can travel inland to experience eco-tours above the ground. Witness the waterfalls that allow the river to snake its way out to the ocean on a trekking tour of the rainforest.
