  • Playa Grande - Guanacaste, Costa Rica

"This is a great hideaway in Playa Grande. It is a relaxing 2 bedroom home with everything you need. It's a short walk to the beach and has a beautiful inviting swimming pool surrounded by green, lush vegetation. I highly recommend it."

  • perfect paradise

"This vacation rental was a perfect fit for our group. We hosted a yoga retreat at this Villa. The layout is great. It gave everyone the option to have a private room and bathroom and each room came with 2 queen beds, with A/C. There was a large covered outdoor common area for dining and hanging out. The pool was nice. There was also a great outdoor space for us to do yoga and a quant deck overlooking the ocean for mediation. Marcela, the housekeeper, cooked 2 meals a day for our entire group of 13 people. She cooked Costa Rican meals and provided vegetarian and vegan options. The house is merely footsteps from the ocean. We could hear the waves crashing at night while sleeping, it was beautiful. Monkeys were found playing in the trees outside the house a couple time. This house has a local, rustic feel. It's perfectly located in walking or biking distance to Tamarindo and Playa Grande. I would without a doubt offer another retreat here. The property was a great size for large groups. Nova was very helpful in making sure we had everything, from board rentals to massages and airport transportation."

  • Casa Mandarina and Amigo Realty Top Notch!

"We are terribly sad to see this week come to an end. There is so much left to do so we must plan our next visit. I think Casa Mandarina would be an excellent place for a crowd. Marcia is an amazing cook! Authentic Costa Rican cuisine everyday, breakfast lunch dinner, when we weren't out on the best adventures, organized by Marjolet! Many thanks to Marjolet for getting us on personalized tours with Don Grant, the owner of Get Lost In Costa Rica (# 1 in Trip Advisor for Costa Rica). Now that we have been here, our next trip will be even better! Turtle tour, River Tour, Zip lining, horseback riding, waterslide, mud bath, swim in natural hot springs heated by volcano, and endless fun and relaxation at Casa Mandarina and Playa Grande beach! This is our last day. After our breakfast, we walked the beach and saw where a giant Leatherback turtle came ashore over night to nest and return to the sea. Then noticed a baby Leatherback trying to make its way to sea. What an experience for the kids and us, right out the back door of Casa Mandarina! Thanks Nova, Marjolet, Marcia and Oscar! • The best way to see Costa Rica!

"We began our trip to Costa Rica at an all-inclusive resort in Guanacaste. While nice, we felt like we could have been anywhere (even the U.S.) and we really wanted to experience Costa Rica. I was so glad we chose to stay at Estrella Del Mar for the second half of our trip. We really got the feeling that we were in another country complete with a rain forest with the perfect beach. What a beautiful and very comfortable home. We loved interacting with Fresia and her family and she prepared the best Costa Rican breakfast our second morning there - gorgeous local fruit, eggs, the most delicious coffee and gallo pinto. We sat on the patio and listened to the monkeys. What a perfect Costa Rican experience!!"
