  • Excellent in Every Way!

"We loved this place! There are a lot of wonderful things about this condo but the very best is the view of the beach and ocean from the deck. It is stunning! You can sit and listen to the surf, or watch the tides rise and ebb as people ride by on horseback, and dogs play in the waves. Las Brises is a great location and beautifully maintained. The lovely pool area has lots of chairs and is surrounded with flowering bushes and palms. It is kept spotless by great staff. There are only 18 units and this one is the prime location – right on the end with a wraparound ocean view! The condo has all the latest conveniences – including a wine cooler. It's tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped. There is air conditioning, but since there is always a nice breeze, we found we seldom needed it. The condo is excellent in every respect. The manager, Barbara, gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us everything and answered all our questions. We had only one very minor issue at the condo during our stay and it was fixed in 20 minutes! Owner was excellent to deal with. Everyday we walked for miles along the beautiful sandy beach and saw very few people. It was so private and serene. Gorgeous! Everyone we met at Las Brises was friendly and helpful. It's a great community. The setting is very rural, yet surprisingly there are some great restaurants near by. We especially enjoyed Mundo Milo and Guacamaya Lodge. The best grocery store is in Tamarindo (40 minutes) and it has pretty much everything you’d find at home. We highly recommend this condo and give it Five Stars! We would gladly return."

  • Perfect spot for relaxation!

"Our family of 9 (ages 12-72) all found Casa Juliana to be the perfect place for a relaxing family vacation. The screened in living area, which overlooks the pool, is very spacious and inviting. We were so happy not to have bugs biting when the sun went down! Access to the beach (across the street at the end of the driveway) was so convenient when going back and forth from the pool to the ocean. Our kids went down for sunset swims while we enjoyed a drink by the pool with no worries in the world. All of us agreed that we would definitely rent Casa Juliana again. Thank you to Georgina for being so attentive to our needs and making our stay as easy as it was. Thank you to Mike, Kathy and Chris for making it so easy to book! Some of the highlights of my trip was watching the monkeys swing branch to branch at the end of the driveway, listening to the various birds and other wildlife (gecko's and various birds especially) chirp from the lush gardens, and listening to the waves crash down from the comfort of a lounge chair by the pool. Also, the local Surf Cafe, Amigo's Bar and Grill (each about a mile away) and Tatanka Hotel (right next door) made it so I didn't have to cook our entire stay! Tatanka must have made about 10 pizzas for my boys over the 5 days were were there. Surf Cafe has wonderful breakfast and fresh fruit smoothies, and Amigo's is a great spot for dinner. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, with easy access to more hustle and bustle (like Tamarindo), this is the house for you:)"

  • Stunning views, amazing property and great area

"We've just finished our third stay at Villa Oceanis in the last year, and there's a reason we're continually drawn back to this gem in Guanacaste. A perfect size for two couples or a family of 4 or 5, the home has a well equipped kitchen, two beautiful bathrooms, a great picnic table on the deck, adirondack chairs and lounges. But in all likelihood you'll spend you time in the pool enjoying the spectacular views and sunsets. It's a beautiful pool suitable for kids and adults and is always well maintained. The home also has all of the other amenities you could use including stable and fast WIFI, A/C in the bedrooms with great patio doors at each end for breezes, a tv with Sky satellite (about 10 english channels), a gated driveway, washer and dryer (though you're provided with more than enough towels and plenty of handy drying racks for bathings suits). They've also thoughtfully included some paperbacks, bug spray, a lantern (there are not streetlights in the area), binoculars, maps and books about Costa Rica, and the list goes on. The home is on a beautiful beach for walking and surfing, but if you are looking to swim there are options a few minutes away by car. The area has a few great restaurants around including the one at Hotel Igauanzul (you can walk here), Amigo's, Latinos, Lola's Deeveena and others which are few minutes away by car. We've also felt incredibly safe in in the area and everyone we've met has been incredibly friendly. Over the last year this vacation rental has only gotten better! Two trees have been cleared out so the view is less obstructed, the indoor and outdoor couches have been replaced/recovered and look great and are comfy, a new privacy wall on the deck which gives it more space, and the yard has some new landscaping which also improves the view. Also new on this trip are Patty and Nicholas the new concierges who live nearby and are incredibly helpful and friendly. They emailed us ahead of our arrival to help with any preparations and had a wonderful set of activities/suggestions/options available (make sure to get a few platters of food from La Ventanas, do the beach sunset dinner, eat Desert at Deeveenas, and release baby turtles if it's happening during your stay). Thank you to Valerie and Patrick (the owners), you're easy to deal with and I hope we meet on a future visit. It was another magical stay and I am already planning a return trip, it truly is paradise."

  • Beautiful place, not enough privacy

"I was torn on giving 3 or 4 stars...I gave 4 because I didn't want to bring his rating down too much. The property is gorgeous, right on the beach, amazing food very close by, but at times we felt like we didn't have enough privacy. The owner was a very nice guy, very informative, but talked way too much sometimes. It felt like he was constantly trying to sell us something, his books, a time share, some photos of cows in the unit we rented. He also joked with my boyfriend about women, and saying how he was taking so long to run our credit card because there were two women renting the other unit that he would stop and talk with. Frankly I felt a little uncomfortable at some points walking past him in a swim suit to get to the beach. I saw someone else's review about the place being great for 55+ and I think that's accurate. For a 26 yr old, lets just say I'd never go there without my boyfriend. But again, the property is beautiful, the dogs running around on the beach are very nice and playful. The hammock was great, but I would recommend a bigger one that two people could lay in. He was also realistic with us about petty theft and the likelihood of property being stolen. Happy to report nothing was stolen while we were at Plumita Pacifica. He also had great recommendations for places to eat at, all very close by. All in all, still pleased."
