  • Stunning views, amazing property and great area

"We've just finished our third stay at Villa Oceanis in the last year, and there's a reason we're continually drawn back to this gem in Guanacaste. A perfect size for two couples or a family of 4 or 5, the home has a well equipped kitchen, two beautiful bathrooms, a great picnic table on the deck, adirondack chairs and lounges. But in all likelihood you'll spend you time in the pool enjoying the spectacular views and sunsets. It's a beautiful pool suitable for kids and adults and is always well maintained. The home also has all of the other amenities you could use including stable and fast WIFI, A/C in the bedrooms with great patio doors at each end for breezes, a tv with Sky satellite (about 10 english channels), a gated driveway, washer and dryer (though you're provided with more than enough towels and plenty of handy drying racks for bathings suits). They've also thoughtfully included some paperbacks, bug spray, a lantern (there are not streetlights in the area), binoculars, maps and books about Costa Rica, and the list goes on. The home is on a beautiful beach for walking and surfing, but if you are looking to swim there are options a few minutes away by car. The area has a few great restaurants around including the one at Hotel Igauanzul (you can walk here), Amigo's, Latinos, Lola's Deeveena and others which are few minutes away by car. We've also felt incredibly safe in in the area and everyone we've met has been incredibly friendly. Over the last year this vacation rental has only gotten better! Two trees have been cleared out so the view is less obstructed, the indoor and outdoor couches have been replaced/recovered and look great and are comfy, a new privacy wall on the deck which gives it more space, and the yard has some new landscaping which also improves the view. Also new on this trip are Patty and Nicholas the new concierges who live nearby and are incredibly helpful and friendly. They emailed us ahead of our arrival to help with any preparations and had a wonderful set of activities/suggestions/options available (make sure to get a few platters of food from La Ventanas, do the beach sunset dinner, eat Desert at Deeveenas, and release baby turtles if it's happening during your stay). Thank you to Valerie and Patrick (the owners), you're easy to deal with and I hope we meet on a future visit. It was another magical stay and I am already planning a return trip, it truly is paradise."

  • Already Planning to Return

"We spent an amazing week at Plumita Pacifica and simply fell in love with Playa Junquillal. Gary is a wonderful host and has the BEST location on the beach. If you are looking for great waves, long walks on a quiet and incredibly beautiful beach, and a place to kick back and relax you have found your paradise! Gary directed us to all the local dining spots which we really enjoyed (and had no problem walking to since we didn't rent a car). He also hooked us up with a local company who shuttled us to and from Liberia Airport and coordinated our rafting and ziplining excursions. It was a perfect week! Thank you Gary!"

  • Great Place

"My girlfriend and another couple stayed here for what was supposed to be 3 days but turned into 4. I originally booked a 1 bedroom but 1 day before our reservation emailed Dylan (The owner) and asked if he by chance had a 2 bedroom unit because another couple had decided to join us. He said no problem and that he would have it cleaned and ready for us. We arrived and were shown to the unit. It looked as if no one had stayed in it before. These units must have been built within a year or two. Tile floors, A/C in the living room and each bedroom, tile showers, granite countertops, new appliances and cookware, everything you need for a wonderful stay. The fact that Amigos (A MUST GO) and the supermarket are literally downstairs makes it even more relaxing and convenient. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away, and little town with a great bar and surf shop is about a 10 minute drive. The surf breaks around Playa Junquillal were very good. It was fairly big for my talents (8-9 foot at times) and would close out later in the evening. The sandy bottom was very nice! I wouldn't recommend coming here without a vehicle if you want to venture out much, but if you want to stay in the complex, it has everything you need, except an ATM. The store has standard prices on everything, Amigos is a fantastic bar/restaurant, and the pool is lovely and well kept. Dylan is a pleasure to work with, and if we come back to Costa Rica, we will be staying here again."

  • Luxury By The Sea

"My wife, stepson and I had the pleasure of recently vacationing at Casa Juliana. We shared the spacious villa with seven other adult family members and friends and never felt a lack of privacy. The daily ritual of sunset watching from the second floor balcony overlooking the ocean was spectacular to say the least. The interior of the property has all the appointments you would expect from a luxury resort including a fully equipped kitchen with all the modern appliances. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the pool was a divine setting for water volleyball or simply relaxing. The indoor screened porch creates a multipurpose indoor/outdoor venue for dancing, dining and lounging. We found the location of the property to be ideal. Far enough away from civilization to have a relatively remote feel but close enough to local markets, restaurants, public beaches, golf course and other attractions to provide more than enough day-trips to keep us more than busy. Of course, I can't forget the trip to Rincon National Park for a day of outrageous ziplining and a hike to a spectacular waterfall. As for nightlife, we were a 35 minute car ride from Tamarindo where we dined on an exquisite meal and had the chance to see a terrific live rock band that was incredibly entertaining. No matter if you are going as a large group or two or more couples for a romantic getaway this will be a destination to which you will quickly return!"
