  • Gorgeous villa and wonderful vacation!

"We had a wonderful vacation and this villa was perfect for our family. My college-age children each had their own bedroom and bath and my husband and I had the spacious master suite. The furnishings are all lovely, French windows and doors across the entire unit upstairs and down offer the most beautiful view of the Pacific. The terrace downstairs and the balcony upstairs have quality furnishings as well as a relaxing hammock! We watched the most beautiful sunsets right out our back door. The beach club is great but we also enjoyed walking to the local beaches. We enjoyed both the first class golf course and the well maintained and lit (so you can play when the sun goes down) tennis courts. It is a short and pleasant walk to the JW Marriott if you want the amenities of a large resort. Best of all was the assistance of the wonderful lady who manages the property. She gave us the best recommendations for restaurants and activities and went above and beyond for us arranging our car rental and a few private tours and experiences. Make sure you walk down the beach to Lola's for lunch, don't miss the Beach Box which is also by Playa Avellana and serves the best burritos we have ever had!! Another great restaurant is Villa Deveena. Its a little off the beaten path but well worth the drive! But we had many great meals at places in Tamrindo like Patagonia (steaks), Dragonfly, and Pangas Beach Club. You have to rent a car and I would recommend an SUV. Lots of dirt roads or roads with pot holes, etc. Part of the adventure!! There is a fully stocked supermarket in Tamarindo only a 20 minute drive from the villa. The Costa Rican people were warm and friendly and we felt very safe the whole time we were there. We can't wait to go back!!!"

  • A quiet place in Tamarindo

"We visited Tamarindo with our three teenagers. I would like to make a distinction between the house and the service from the property management company. Bob and his staff were very helpful and really made our stay in Tamarindo easy and enjoyable. They are a 5/5. Our flight arrived late, but Bob was there to meet us with tips and reccomendations. Our tour questions were answered quickly and booked efficiently. Wonderful service! The house has a comfortable layout and the pool is a real treat on those hot afternoons. Air con, washer and dryer and wifi are great to have and all worked. The location is very quiet, which is nice. The house, however, could use some updating. There are stains on the living room couch, and the beds are not comfortable. The loungers by the pool were rotten, but the staff replaced them when I pointed that out. One of the air con units had leaked all over the floor, but maintenace was there quickly to fix it. One thing the picture doesn't convey well is the front yard is really just the pool and it is in the front of the house that overlooks the cul de sac. Its high enough and there is a small hedge so there is privacy. The area is pretty quiet as well. It's not a quick walk to the beach and if you have little kids you'd want to consider that. It's a balance between a quiet neighborhood and proximity to the beach. The walk down the road is very scenic and enjoyable. Overall, we certainly enjoyed our stay and I very much appreciated the manager's service and on our next trip to Costa Rica I will be contacting Pura Vida Property Management. The location is quiet and amenities are convenient and the house is clean. Owners of the house need to do some sprucing up considering the asking price of the rental."

  • Slice of heaven

"We recently returned from our stay at Naxos in Playa Langosta. The condo had everything we needed and the views were spectacular. The condo itself was very nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable and we always felt very safe in the gated condo. The pool area is gorgeous and most of the time we had the entire area to ourselves. We used the BBQ on many occasions and it worked wonderfully. This condo is a very short walk to the beach or if you take another 5 minutes past Barcelo Langosta there is a really beautiful sandy beach where you can spend the day watching the surfers and swim. We never walked to town as we had my father with us who had bad knees but it would not have been difficult along the beach at all. It's just a $5 taxi ride to Tamarindo and taxis are everywhere so we never had any problems getting a taxi when we needed it. I corresponded with Donna many times prior to our arrival and she was always very helpful and informative. If you're looking for a place that is clean, comfortable, safe and relaxing look no further."

  • Wonderful adult family vacation home!

"What a beautiful and relaxing place to experience the west coast of Costa Rica. The terraces are amazing to hang out in the mornings and the evenings. There was always a pleasant breeze and the views! Sunset was out favorite time to be at the villa. We had six adults and all had plenty of space! We cooked most of our meals and found everything conveniently located. The only thing that would have made a difference would be better interior light for reading. We loved the pools and the beach swing. There was a family of Howler monkeys at the small beach, too. All the security staff were helpful and friendly. We took a few days side trip to the cloud forest and Arenal and felt very secure leaving the villa unattended. We would come back here to stay in a heartbeat! Pura Vida!"
