  • Beautiful home

"My wife and I stayed at Casa Dulce for our first trip to Costa Rica, 8-15 Mar 2014. The onsite manager met us even though we arrived more than an hour late due to flight delays. Got us checked in, oriented and settled quickly and efficiently. It was dark when we arrived, but in the morning, it became obvious that the home is beautiful and fully equipped. Love the pool and the backyard landscaping. Ate breakfast every morning while looking out at the great backyard view, including the iguana who seemed to be expecting an invitation in (we declined.) The Sunrise community is a nice mix of locals, people who have moved there from elsewhere and people like us who are short term visitors. All were welcoming and friendly. We shopped at some of the small close by markets (Super Wendy and Super Massai), and the local corner fruit stand. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, off the beaten track vacation. If you prefer having a bunch of Americans around, go to Tamarindo instead. Loved the local beaches, especially Playa Portrero, Sugar Beach and Playas Danta and Danita."

  • Awesome!!! Just what we wanted for a Honeymoon

"This place was great! We were not expecting much based on the price, but were greatly surprised at how awesome Mike and Irma's home is. The breakfasts were phenomenal...from plates of fruit that included papaya, star fruit, mangosteen, passion fruit, and pineapple, accompanied by "coffee thirty" and the best typical food we ate while in the country. I still need your recipe for the gallo pinto Irma! I could eat that daily with your fried plantains. The penthouse was very clean and comfortable. Views from the balcony and even the shower are missed already. We rented a car and explored the hidden treasures in the surrounding area and enjoyed the charm of the nearby Playa Danta, finding a local fisherman to get fresh Mahi Mahi, and access to hacienda and tours at El Viejo. We drove to Arenal for the second half of our journy and ran into difficulties with an acclaimed resort. The thought of driving the 4 hours back to your home would have been a reality had our travel agent not anwered their phone. Thank you for answering the dozens questions regarding the local culture and for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated."

  • Charming and Inviting House in Surfside!

"My husband and I stayed at this house for two weeks this summer. We really enjoyed it. It is in a nice neighborhood that is close to the beach and I really love the Potrero area so for me it was perfect. It was great having the garage to put our rental car in (not many houses have this in Costa Rica) and the fence around the house also made me feel very safe. The house was very cozy and has a cute backyard with a pool that is nice for lounging or cooling off any time of the day. My parents and brother came for a few days and also enjoyed staying at the house during our stay. The owner of the house was lovely to work with and was very accommodating! It was a great vacation and I would definitely recommend this house and stay here again!"

  • A very good choice

"After sorting through many property reviews we chose Villa Celeste and were very pleased with our choice. The house was fully stocked upon arrival with ample paper supplies and cooking necessities, as well as some groceries to get us started! We were lucky to have the property to ourselves while we were there off season. The grounds are great with a lot of birds and, yes, monkeys occasionally to view. We opted not to rent a car and this worked out. Even in low season there were buses and short walks to Sol Y Mar restaurant, which we recommend, as well as Las Brisas on the beach, also recommended. We found a great taxi driver and not having a phone we only needed to ask at the restaurants or supers to call Michael from Flamingos Taxis (he lives in Potrero) and was punctual and reasonably priced. The property has great proximity to Sugar Beach where we had to be for a wedding. We booked a few tours with Eco Trans, as well as airport pickup, and we recommend their tours and transportation services. Eco Trans and really all taxi drivers had no problem finding the house. We truly enjoyed our peaceful visit; the house had everything we needed and was easily kept comfortable temperature-wise with AC and fans and sometimes just opening the windows to catch the early morning breeze and wild life. Enjoyed Costa Rica and Potrero even in the slow season and hope to return. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home."
