  • A very good choice

"After sorting through many property reviews we chose Villa Celeste and were very pleased with our choice. The house was fully stocked upon arrival with ample paper supplies and cooking necessities, as well as some groceries to get us started! We were lucky to have the property to ourselves while we were there off season. The grounds are great with a lot of birds and, yes, monkeys occasionally to view. We opted not to rent a car and this worked out. Even in low season there were buses and short walks to Sol Y Mar restaurant, which we recommend, as well as Las Brisas on the beach, also recommended. We found a great taxi driver and not having a phone we only needed to ask at the restaurants or supers to call Michael from Flamingos Taxis (he lives in Potrero) and was punctual and reasonably priced. The property has great proximity to Sugar Beach where we had to be for a wedding. We booked a few tours with Eco Trans, as well as airport pickup, and we recommend their tours and transportation services. Eco Trans and really all taxi drivers had no problem finding the house. We truly enjoyed our peaceful visit; the house had everything we needed and was easily kept comfortable temperature-wise with AC and fans and sometimes just opening the windows to catch the early morning breeze and wild life. Enjoyed Costa Rica and Potrero even in the slow season and hope to return. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home."

  • Simple Beauty

"Spent Thanksgiving week at Palma del Mar with a pal and my sister and brother-in-law for my niece's wedding. Nice, comfortable home with plenty of room. Best part is the open air concept so you are always connected to the sounds of the surf and the exotic birds in the front yard. The beach is quiet with great swimming and located in a gorgeous horse-shoe bay surrounded by hills/mountains. There's also a cool tiki hut for shade on the beach. You can easily walk to other beaches, restaurants, and more touristy spots if you wish. We went zip-lining just an hour or so away and out on a catamaran from close by the house. Cody and Perla are on site in an adjacent suite. They are gracious and accommodating - whether you want a Costa Rican meal or to take a hike or a kayak trip. We all became great friends. No question I will be back. One caveat - if someone named Mauricio appears, show him the door. He is not trustworthy. Mel the owner is now aware and has banned him from the premises."

  • Beautiful home

"My wife and I stayed at Casa Dulce for our first trip to Costa Rica, 8-15 Mar 2014. The onsite manager met us even though we arrived more than an hour late due to flight delays. Got us checked in, oriented and settled quickly and efficiently. It was dark when we arrived, but in the morning, it became obvious that the home is beautiful and fully equipped. Love the pool and the backyard landscaping. Ate breakfast every morning while looking out at the great backyard view, including the iguana who seemed to be expecting an invitation in (we declined.) The Sunrise community is a nice mix of locals, people who have moved there from elsewhere and people like us who are short term visitors. All were welcoming and friendly. We shopped at some of the small close by markets (Super Wendy and Super Massai), and the local corner fruit stand. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, off the beaten track vacation. If you prefer having a bunch of Americans around, go to Tamarindo instead. Loved the local beaches, especially Playa Portrero, Sugar Beach and Playas Danta and Danita."

  • Wow simply everything you can ask for.

"My fiancé and I rented this house with two other couples for 1week. It was AMAZING! The staff was very friendly and the owner is quick to answer emails. We saw monkeys in the trees only 50 feet from the house and more butterflies than any of us had seen before in lots of different colors. The ocean was probably 80 degrees and only 100 feet from the house. We went to a swim up bar right down the beach from the house which also offered ocean side massages! (It was truly amazing). Four of the nights we stayed in and had a private chef prepare dinner for us. It was local food and flavors that we miss so much (fried plantain, yum) I can't wait to return to this perfect house and beautiful country."
