"My family of 4 travels really well with 3 other families/amazing friends of ours. This was our 2nd annual Spring Break shared Vacation. There is no way I will be able to say enough about what an incredible time we all had at Casa Playa Bonita.
Where do I start? Lisa is so prompt and pleasant and made planning our trip a breeze. She and Yoko answered all of our questions immediately. Yoko will book your transportation and any day trips, she will make reservations for dinner, she is available to answer any questions at any time before and during your stay. When I called, she picked up. We were taken care of. Herman and Blanca were a dynamic duo for sure. Blanca is one stealth woman! She was like a ghost. We bought tons of fruit and she would cut it for us every morning and set it out without anyone seeing her. Any time we would try and wash a glass or dish she would stop us. She cleaned our rooms every day and I swear I rarely ever saw her! Herman and Blanca have perma-grins and they are wonderful human beings. Make sure you arrange at least one dinner cooked for you. They made us the BEST Tuna we've ever had. Even the non seafood eaters tried it and loved it!
Casa Playa Bonita is a perfectly designed home. 4 families, 14 people and there was plenty of privacy when needed. Best location, gorgeous sunsets, steps to the beach, a quick walk to Coco Loco's. It's like you have your own private resort. Coffee every morning looking out at the ocean, listening to birds and watching dragonflies buzz by was so incredibly relaxing. We rented sea-do's down the beach, kayaked and paddle AND boogie boarded right in front of the house. Fish would swim between our legs and the kids saw a sting ray. There were no vendors bugging you on the beach, it's super mellow and GORGEOUS. White sand and clear water. Yoko set us up with a 4 wheel/canopy tour and everyone had a great time. So much so that the kids decided to go on a 4 wheeling guided tour later in the week to ride again. We swam in the pool for hours and took advantage of the kiddie pool to float because we have no little ones. I want to be floating right now! Read the house book that Lisa will provide front to back. Everything you need is in there. We cooked in the amazing kitchen, went to Angelina's for dinner (tried octopus and LOVED) and there were daily walks to Coco Loco's for a coco loco served in a coconut. YES! I want to write more and I'm being cut off so....JUST GO. We can't wait to return. Pura Vida!!"

"My boyfriend and I decided to take our January vacation in Costa Rica. Not only was this our first time traveling to CR, but also our first time using VRBO. We were very nervous but we had no issues using VRBO and we got our full deposit back the day we left the property-so if you have any concerns, don't!
When choosing our property, we wanted a mix of good tourist area where we would feel comfortable with things to do but without the super touristy resort like feel. With this property and area, I feel like we accomplished that! The night we arrived, Franklin showed us to the property. Both him and Ricardo are very nice and accessible. Whenever we contacted Ricardo, either before or during our trip, he was very quick to respond via phone call or email! He was also very helpful with recommending things to do etc.
The house itself is also great- it is located in a gated area, which made me feel safe and secure. A car is definitely needed for this property, preferably a 4 wheel drive or SUV (something with some clearance) as the roads in CR are not all fully paved. We managed fine with a sedan but would have felt better in an SUV, especially in the rain. (Also, most activities and such are definitely driving distance) The house was great with a master bedroom/bath and deck upstairs; another bedroom/bath downstairs; kitchen with utensils/bowls/etc; another deck off the living room which is gives you amazing sunset views!
The nearby town Nuevo Arenal (5 minute drive) has a grocery store, a bank and numerous restaurants with CR food, Italian, American and German food (so a great variety). The Windcatcher and German bakery were great breakfast spots. Los Platillos, Moyas and Tinajas (Tinajas is 5 min out of town on the lake) are great for lunch and dinner!
As far as activities, we drove to La Fortuna (35 minute drive) to see the waterfalls, go zip lining, hot springs, hanging bridges and hiking.
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this property with Ricardo!"

"Jane, your Condo is really nice. My family and me had gone many home away or luxury retreats through the years.
The furniture is nice, the architecture is nice but, there are many buts:
Towels were worst than in a Motel 6
Pool rules (obviously) forbids glass but your condo has nothing plastic (should I think about it and carry them from my city of residence)
Better if you don't put those awful soaps, they are the worst soap bars ever
Water pressure in the showers is terrible, my youngest daughter thought her showers wasn't working.
Have you noticed there is NO street outside the condo and that basically Tamarindo beach has only two or three paved roads? I think that should be written somewhere, I mean, we really go to this kind of home away because we believe what you review of your own place.
Linen are older than me (I'm 46) and stained (really don't want to know what stained them)
Toaster was broken (but promptly changed, but try to eat costarrican bread without a toaster, it's like chewing bread).
Scissors might be useful in the kitchen, like at your actual house
Overall: nice condo cheap amenities
Return: only if we get 90% discount and free flight tickets, this is not from the condo but from the hole area. God forgot completely of Tamarindo beach in Guanacaste, almost 4 hours away from awful city of San Jose"
