  • The Perfect Beach Vacation

"Wow. We (a party of 6) just returned from an amazing stay at Mel's wonderful beach front home. The place itself is an classic beach house, with four bedrooms, and lots of space for lounging. The house was clean (spotless really), well stocked with towels, linens, etc., and had a full kitchen. Mel gave us an amazing itinerary: we had a blast visiting the beaches at Conchal and Tamarindo (not to mention the beach in front of the house!), snorkeling, kayaking, building bonfires, and napping in the hammock. Perla and Cody took wonderful care of us. Perla is an amazing cook, and prepared a variety of original and by-request dishes for us. We also enjoyed the Beach House restaurant and bar, a few steps down the beach. The house is a very short drive from a bunch of other fun excursions and towns as well. Our only complaint is that we didn't have enough time to enjoy everything the place had to offer!"

  • Another Amazing Vacation

"This is the second time I've stayed at The Jungle Beach House. It's a great place for a large extended family to enjoy a quiet, relaxing vacation. The Jungle Beach House had several buildings with bedrooms so everyone had a little space. The most popular bedrooms in our crowd were in the air-conditioned building. The pool house had two bedrooms but no air-conditioning, just fans. It tended to get hot in the afternoon, but the rooms cooled off at night. There was some trouble with biting ants in the pool house, but bug spray helped. There were several "more primitive" beds and bedrooms in the Rancho that had fans and mosquito netting to help protect the occupants from nasty bugs. The on-site pool with the convenient lounge chairs and shade was wonderful and the beach was a short walk from the Rancho. Marta, was a wonderful cook and gracious "hostess" during our stay. She took care of our needs and made suggestions on the best places to purchase food. While her English and our Spanish was limited, the Spanish/English dictionary in the Rancho helped us communicate. The Jungle Beach House is within walking distance to some restaurants, surf shops and a small store and within a short drive to other great restaurants in the area. It helps to have a car when staying there, but there was some "taxi" service available via 3-wheelers. The dusty dirt roads in the area made us glad we had a good air-conditioned SUV and weren't exposed to breathing the dust. Overall, this is a great place to relax. Once you "settle in", it's hard to get motivated to leave the compound."

  • Excellent Villa

"Our family of four stayed in the Hermosa Heights Villa for a week trip to Costa Rica. Located just 25 minutes from the airport, it is very convenient. Playa Hermosa is just down the road and you can walk if you like. Playa del Coco is just a short 8 minute car ride or $10 cab ride and it has has tons of restaurants, bars, shops, and a large beach. Playa Potrero and Flamingo is just 1.15 hours and Tamarindo is about 1.75 hours by car. The villa is large with a great deck and view of the ocean. All amenities and A/C is included! Recommend renting a car if you want to see the coast - very easy from airport. Would stay there again. Owner is very nice and responsive and the property management team were excellent and prompt."

  • Beautiful, spacious house in a great location

"The house is comfortable, spacious and beautiful! It was a great place to relax in the evening by the pool or in the "backyard" patio after a busy day of activities. Just a quick walk to the beach. Great to walk the beach to Tamarindo at low tide (or spend hours exploring the tide pools). Just a $5 cab ride to/from Tamarindo. Maria, the property manager, was helpful with recommendations for surf lessons and restaurants. My daughters loved Princess (or Prince?), the resident cat! We enjoyed surf lessons, scuba diving, snorkeling, boogie boarding, zip lining and lots of amazing food in the Tamarindo restaurants. I've already recommended this home to friends who are planning to visit Costa Rica!"
