  • Fabulous stay at Villa Oasis!

"Having stayed a Villa Oasis before, we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed! Our days started out with early morning coffee on the veranda watching the monkeys, iguanas and birds. Once the rest of our "crew" got out of bed, we had a hearty breakfast, that consisted of eggs, pancakes, bacon, gallo pinto, and fresh fruits. Each day led us to some type of adventure; Surfing and exploring Playa Camoranal (Sea Turtle Sancuary), Deep Sea Fishing on the Kingfisher (catching tuna and sailfish), exploring the local town of Samara, Hiking to a local waterfall for a refreshing dip, or just spending the day on the beach in Playa Carrillo. Of course, we finished the activities off each day with a dip in the pool at Villa Oasis, usually with an "adult" beverage in hand! We opted to have our dinners at local restaurants recommended by our hosts. Cabinas El Colibri & Steak House was our favorite, and is within walking distance. Fabulous steaks, chicken and shrimp at reasonable prices. We also frequented "TOUCAN", the local "Pizza" joint. Great pizza and pasta dishes and again within walking distance. This wasn't our first visit to Villa Oasis, and it won't be our last. We had 9 adults (2 families) in our group and the Oasis provided spacious living areas for everyone! We are already planning our next visit."

  • perfect!

"Villa Mirador is exactly as described—if not better. Mary-Ellen, the owner, is absolutely amazing. She was extremely helpful, organized, prompt, friendly and passionate about her properties. The on-site manager, Daniel, was very helpful as well. He does not speak English—so be prepared if you do not speak Spanish. Just ask Mary-Ellen questions ahead of time. The house has everything you should need—even a crib for our little one. The views and pool were amazing! We spent several late afternoons relaxing in the pool and patio area. There were (3) bedrooms downstairs and (1) upstairs. Air conditioner worked great in the rooms; however, there is no ac in the main living areas. The house is designed to be an open concept which for the most part does not require ac in the living areas. This particular home is probably the smallest in Samara Reefs; however, it is off on its own providing you plenty of privacy. If you need a little more room (5th bedroom) I would contact Mary-Ellen about her other property in Samara Reefs. Daniel actually took us over to view it and it was amazing. Very large pool—you could do laps in it and the house is a little bigger. Villa Mirador was perfect for our party of 6 adults and 2 kids. Samara is a very nice beach town with friendly people and plenty to do and several great restaurants. I would recommend a car—we picked up our car rental from the airport. With traffic it is 1 hour and 40 mins. Without traffic we did it in 1 hour 15 mins; however, I did the drive 4 times in a week so I was very familiar with the roads. Overall this property is truly amazing. The only small little issue we had was the light drapes in the bedrooms. Our 3 and 1 year old woke up super early each morning which caused for some long days! I would absolutely come back to Samara Reefs and stay at Villa Mirador again."

Samara Travel Tips

Half Moon Bay and Samara Beach Rentals

Unpretentious splendor awaits you when you book Samara Beach rentals. To characterize vacations in Costa Rica, words like "tropical," "paradise," "sun," "sand," and "fun" have to be used because it has it all. The small village of Samara is located on Half Moon Bay in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is split into provinces that each have their own capitals, which vary in size and attractions like Guanacaste Province. Samara is one of the smaller locales on the Pacific Ocean for the entire family.

The Playground of Samara Resorts

Water in the bay is relatively shallow for wading and swimming. In fact, it is the best playground for younger children because the waves are also small as they reach the shoreline. Children can spend the entire day steps away from Samara resorts building sandcastles and snorkeling with tropical fish, while parents join in the festivities. Scuba diving trips from Samara beach rentals are possible as is boat diving. Most vacations in Costa Rica are all about the water and beach, but they does not have to be.

Canopy Tours on Vacations in Costa Rica

Vacations in Costa Rica can also include canopy tours, hikes into the rain forest, or shopping. The canopy tours begin in early morning as the dew is still settling over the mountains and the wildlife is just waking up. On your way up to the top of the canopy, you can expect to encounter a few Howler monkeys and other animals. Hiking along the trails by the rivers will provide views of waterfalls and other forest creatures like snakes, butterflies, and chameleons. At the end of the day, you can return to Samara resorts to watch the sunset on the balcony while you eat dinner.

Grilling at Samara Beach Rentals

Samara village has a disco, a few bars, and plenty of late-night entertainment. Whether you bring children or not, you can enjoy the nightlife of Costa Rica. If you want a home-cooked meal, Samara beach rentals have barbeques, fully equipped kitchens, and plenty of space to make a real Central American dish. You also have the option at Samara resorts to have an all-inclusive package that includes your meals.
