  • Amazing Location!

"Hacienda Punta Indio has a gorgeous location with an ideal view of Samara beach and bay. The expansive property with numerous paths also offers views of Carillo beach. The house is reached up a long winding drive and is very private. Not far from the base of the drive is a road leading to Samara Beach and we all found it pleasant to walk from the house to the village (about one hour) along the beach. It helped that we could leave one of our two rental cars in town for the trip home. For nature lovers, the property is ideal. There are numerous birds, a variety of vegetation, frequent views of howler monkeys making their way through the jungle and the opportunity to hike through the woods on the paths provided. There is even a hike to a private beach which at low tide has ample tidal pools and beachcombing. We really adored the property! The house is spacious and a great setup for a large group with all the bedrooms a similiar size and setup (king bed, ensuite bath) so that no one was getting a "better" room. All rooms overlook the pool area and view of the beach. The pool is one of the nicest setups we have seen--the last stop on the edge of a ravine overlooking the beach and way. While sitting in the pool you can cozy up to the edge and gaze for a long time at the views. There is ample seating around the pool and a very, very comfortable hammock. I would say that the photos do not do the house proper justice: based on some other reviews we were prepared for a fairly basic setup, but were pleased to discover everything was tasteful and very comfortable. This may not be the house for individuals accustomed to 5 star resorts with spa like amenities, but it is completely clean, functional and comfortable. The air conditioned cold cellar was awesome for a large group keeping everything cool and the ants out of the kitchen. Jorge and Flory take good care of everything, come promptly when asked and are not intrusive. We had regular garbage pickup, attentive assistance when our baggage had to be delivered by the airline the day following our arrival and housekeeping along the way. The area of Samara is a paradise for beachlovers. There are lots of possible daytrips either way up or down the coast and numerous activities for adventure seekers. We found lots of places to dine, although enjoyed dinners at home more. Costa Rica has the best fruits and vegetables and shopping for supplies is not at all difficult. We definitely plan to come back."

  • AMAZING!

"Popo's Treehouse was an amazing adventure for us. Tad was extremely accomodating. Our flight into San Jose and drive to the coast put us at his place around 1am local time. Tad was available to great us and show us around. Breakfast is included each morning and the coffee plus fresh fruit is a delight. The beach is a short walking distance and was nearly empty every day we were there. No crowds to worry about in Puerto Carrillo. It is a very quiet town and extremely safe. Tad and Suzie gave us great information about local restarants and activities. Even short cuts that took us through dried out river beds. We really got to see all parts of Costa Rica. This is the place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy a bit of nature. The treehouse has everything you need. The shower has great water pressure and the bathroom is clean. The kitchen has a cooktop and refridgerator. The porch upstairs has a hammock and chair and the bedrooms sleeps 4 comfortably. We will definitely be back to Popo's on our next trip to Costa Rica. Thanks!"

  • THE BEST SPOT IN COSTA RICA!

"I went with two other couples for the first time to Costa Rica in May, beginning of the rainy season... which out of 8 days, only one rained! We all heard of this beautiful rain forest country, and can only imagine what was waiting for us... Well, not only is the country beautiful, amazing beaches, water temperature was perfect, the people were so welcoming, delicious fish... but this house was perfect! Cozy, walking distance from the beach, a yard in the back that had from monkeys, to horses (wild free happy ones), to iguanas... Close to the little town of Samara. We were able to cook fresh fish, or relax in the hammock at night... I would never prefer to choose this house over any hotel in the area! Can't wait to come back, and I will!!!!"

  • 6..7...8 stars !!!! AMAZING !!!!!

"We have to first say it was not an easy thing to write a review on Casa Las Nubes since all previous guest had already shared everything that we wanted to share about this master piece of architecture or if you prefer this breathtaking eden of peace and beauty. My partner and I are both mid 30's French Canadian from Montréal. We had one full week to enjoy and live at Casa Las Nubes at the beginning of our 3 weeks trip in Costa Rica. I will start by saying that I’m known among my friends and family to be very difficult to impress and satisfy in terms of “accommodations". In other words very picky…;) The minute we contacted the owners with our initial questions we had regarding their property we felt something different. They did not want to simply rent their house. We felt they wanted to share the experience of their house with us. This house is so special it's an experience to live. It became a big highlight of our trip. When we first arrived to the property, and walked up the stairs that leads to the first breathtaking point of view of this house, I told myself and my partner that this would be a week of a lifetime. The minute we walked thru that entrance we felt like nothing else mattered… It was just to good to be true… Every morning we would pinch ourselves sitting around the infinite pool and just starring at the amazing views… Listening to the wildlife surrounding and living in front of us. It was so relaxing, so rejuvenating, we were able to really disconnect from our busy stressful work lives and take a moment for ourselves… The sunset … floating in the pool with a drink and some clouds sitting in the mountains in front of us was just one of the best memory we will keep. Even if some days we would go out to visit the area, beaches & Park, we would come back early just to make sure we would be able to enjoy the end of the day at the pool. Dany the house caretaker was very nice and welcoming! We even downloaded an app to be able to speak and translate live with him ;)) We asked him few things and when he did not knew he would get back to us later. We felt like friends visiting. His son made us smile and welcome us every time we pass by the gate at the entrance of the land. We will be back for sure !! We wish all future guest to enjoy as much as we did. On this day of Canadian Thanksgiving, Darryl & Michael, we will never thank you enough for letting us share this dream of yours. Merci encore mille fois et à très bientôt ;)"
