"Vacationed for a week with another couple, our first trip to Costa Rica. All agreed the home met all expectations: clean, well furnished, comfortable, and the splash pool in the back yard was perfect after our walks to town and back along the beach. Appliances, grill, dining room or outside table were very inviting for eating at home, but we passed on any cooking-in to sample the variety of restaurant in Tamarindo, Langosta, and Lolla's and the Marriott on Playa Avelinnas. It was only a short walk cutting though the Capitan Suiza Hotel or the Beach Club to get to the beach, and having access to the club as part of the house was super convenient (pool, food, massage and exercise room). Linda recommended and we used almost exclusively Tamarindo Traval for our excursions and trips around the area. Fantastic week all around."

"I echo the other reviews in stating this house and location are great. The house is up the street a block from the main strip through a small town. The house was perfect for our two families of 10 total, beds were great. A/C was great and pool area wonderful for hanging out. Modern grocery was five minutes away, and town was small but very laid back with lots of options to eat. We liked we could put both rental cars in the garage and come and go with two sets of keys and garage door opener. Almost every morning the howler monkeys would come through the trees which was a huge bonus. We cooked in the big kitchen several times and maid service was nice to have. W/D made clean up from the beach easy. The beach was walking distance and you can rent chairs and awnings right there as well as beers and sunset empenadas. Truly a relaxing time watching the kids boogy board and surf. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Next time I will really debate whether we needed rental cars, hardly used them."

"Our family of 5 just returned from a week (Nov, 4 - 11) at Casa Blanca. The accommodations were very clean, spacious, well appointed and well equipped. The grounds are gorgeous and we spent many happy hours just relaxing on the covered patio reading, listening to the howler monkeys and tracking the resident iguana. The location is far enough off the beaten track to be quiet but close enough to be convenient. The beach is a short walk across the road. Beware that in November when it is quite rainy the road and beach access are very muddy and beach thongs are the only practical footwear. The condo grounds are gravelled, paved and clean. The management company are very friendly and helpful. We did not rent a car so needed to rent taxis to get groceries and get to restaurants on those very rainy nights. Although there was lots of rain and thunderstorms they were mostly at night and seldom interfered with our plans. The beach is extensive and awesome and the surf calmer than many other locations. A great place to learn to use a surfboard with lots of available instructors. There are a great many reasonably priced restaurants with wonderful food. The area is very multi-cultural and friendly. A special experience was flying back and forth with Nature Air."

"Just spent a week in Casa Catalina and it is one of the most incredible, beautiful homes that I have ever rented for a vacation. The views are unparalleled and really spectacular. The home itself is spacious and inviting. The infinity edge pool is the place to be! The onsite staff of Miguel and Manuela made sure you were kept safe and that the home was always in perfect condition. Breakfast is provided complimentary on your first morning and Lacey, the guard dog, was a real sweetheart. We vacationed with our niece and nephew (first trip to Costa Rica) and my sister-in-law and we were anxious to share many of Costa Rica experiences, favorite activities, and tours with them but they literally didn't want to leave the house! The road to the house is quite steep as it is with many of the homes in the area, but when you arrive you are rewarded with the most incredible views. In addition to the Living Room television, all of the bedrooms each have their own television with cable. I was even able to watch American football on Sunday. We also enjoyed the great sunsets on the Pacific ocean, the family of Howler monkeys in the trees right across from our front door, the iguanas feasting in the nearby bushes and scurrying across the yard, and a menagerie of birds. The home is absolutely perfect for several couples, a family, or a group of friends. Hans, the property manager, is a real delight and very helpful in greeting you upon arrival and giving you a tour of the home and property. He is always there to answer a call if you have any questions. It is possible to walk down the hill to town; I ventured out every morning to get some fresh baked goodies at the bakery at the bottom of the hill. The walk back up the hill is fine if you are looking for some exercise! Although not required, if you are renting a vehicle I do recommend a 4 wheel drive. We have been vacationing in Costa Rica for over 20 years and I must say that the road conditions have drastically improved in many areas. Views of Playa Grande and the Estuary are the absolute best form the pool area and you also have great views of Tamarindo beach on the deck with the outdoor bed on the front side of the house. Great place to relax on the outdoor bed and enjoy your coffee in the morning with the sunrise or in the evening with the sunset! Casa Catalina is the the best!!!"
