  • Nicest hosts, amazing location, has everything you need!!

"Recently spent 14 days at the Blue Lagoon House and has the most amazing time. If you're looking for the real Tico experience, look no further. Rick & Gabriella were simply the nicest hosts from welcoming me at the gate and giving me a tour of the place despite my late arrival to inviting me over for a delicious typical Tico BBQ prior to my departure, and giving great advice about the area in-between. Gabriella is an amazing cook and she was kind enough to share some of the local delicacies with me and taught me how to make & eat breakfast like a true Tico: Gallo Pinto (I am still eating it for breakfast every day back home)! Rick is a great surfer and was kind enough to share some of the local knowledge of the breaks and it was nice to share a couple of waves with him at Palo Seco! They also both helped me brush up on my Spanish! The house itself has everything you could possibly need. It is a gated property with the main house (so Gabriella and Rick are always just a few steps away if needed) and the guest house with parking spot. The 2 rooms are spacious with comfortable matresses and the master bedroom (2 double + 1 single bed) is equipped with an A/C unit, which was very appreciated in the hot Costa Rican nights of the dry season. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary amenities (stove/oven, fridge, toaster/toaster oven, coffee maker, and all the kitchen-/tableware you may need). No microwave but you can get around that no problemo! Nice little dining room/living room area to chill out during the evening. The bathroom was very clean (as was the rest of the house) and the shower has warm water. The Playa Avellanas area is the best. Remote enough so that you get the cultural experience of what the real Costa Rica feels like yet it's a short drive (20min) from Tamarindo's nightlife & shopping and a 30min drive to Santa Cruz where you'll find nice local markets with cheaper goods. It's a 10min walk to the beach from the house. If you'd rather drive, park at the Cabinas las Olas across the street or at Lola's a 5min drive away (a great restaurant worth a stop during your stay). Both offer security for your cars and are free although you are somewhat expected to tip the security guards at Lola's. The beach is very nice, uncrowded, with a few shaded areas to find cover from that burning mid-day Tico sun. For surfers, tons of nice beach breaks, lefts & rights. The water is clean & warm and you can bet on it being sunny & gorgeous every single day!"

  • A Week in Paradise

"My family of 4 spent a week at the Palms in Keith's Villa in March, 2015. Having been there earlier and having stayed at another not so great villa in the same complex, we were a bit apprehensive about the quality of the villa. Fear not. This Villa is a true gem, decorated tastefully with international art and crafts. The linens and towels are of top quality. The owner is a true host, not just someone you rent from. He took great care of us, and addressed any possible concerns (such as a complicated but working coffeemaker, replaced immediately). Every villa is individually owned, and you are at the mercy of the owner's tastes and budget. Keith goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great vacation at Playa Flamingo. We arranged for a private tour of the Palo Verde National Park with Eco Travel. It is cheaper and better than going through the options given at the Residence Club. Our guide Carlos was wonderfully knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Highly recommended. Playa Flamingo is probably the best beach in Costa Rica. We will return to this villa soon. Thank you Keith!"

  • Beautiful place in Tamarindo, Langosta Beach, Costa Rica

"Just spent 10 days at this great home with my Sister. It was my 2nd time in Costa Rica and my sisters first. Beautiful furnishings, clean and comfortable. Used the dipping pool everyday because it was so hot. Short walk to the beach. There is a beach club you can use and is included in your rental. The beach club has a pool, gym, food, bar and cabanas. We went there everyday. The property manager Bob was very helpful when we arrived and showed us around and helped us shop for food. Restaurants nearby are excellent. Our favorite was the Green Papaya."

  • aging surfdog

"Gato Cansado is a tiny bungalow at the top of a hill in K Section. It's a 15 minute walk to the surf. Small and cozy, this Casita was perfectly functional for my wife and me. If you are looking for luxury, this is not your place. If you have simple tastes you will love it. The fence around the property gives you privacy and the cottage is bordered on three sides by forest, so you will see some wildlife. You’ll have neighbors are close by on one side and you can hear their conversations as they sit by their pool. Gato Cansado’s small soaking pool is refreshing after walking up the steep hill from the beach. We did not contract for the AC, preferring to enjoy the Costa Rican heat after a long, cold New England winter. If you want to go out for dinner you will need some type of transportation. Virginie, the property manager, was responsive and sweet and made our trip hassle free. We would have no hesitation renting Gato Cansado again."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
