  • Relaxing Retreat

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful villa. We started each morning with a delicious breakfast at one of the lovely restaurants located just minutes down the beach. Our days were spent lounging by the pool - enjoying the iguanas - or exploring the beach. Each evening we walked into town to dine at one of the many restaurants in the area. Highlights of the trip included our estuary kayaking trip, and our day trip to a resort just north of Tamarindo, called Las Catalinas. The Villa was incredibly comfortable, and perfectly located. We look forward to returning to Costa Rica again soon!"

  • Best spot in Nosara

"We (along with two other couples) had the pleasure of staying at Ginger Powers' Rancho Authentico for a week. We arrived after dark from Liberia, and Ginger was there to greet us and show us around. When we woke up the next morning, we couldn't believe it -- breathtaking beach, sunshine galore, and all of the beach amenities you could want -- lounge chairs, towels, outdoor shower, it was fantastic. Photos don't do it justice. It's bigger and better than the photos (and the photos look really fabulous). Before our trip, Ginger was very responsive on e-mail and helped us connect with local fruit/meat vendors who were able to deliver food before we arrived. There's a new gas range in the house that worked great, as did the blender for fruity cocktails. The craziest thing about this place is how quiet and un-touristy Playa Garza is. Many days, we were the only people on the beach. We felt as though we had an entire cove to ourselves. There were several funky beach bars that we could walk to at night (again - NO crowds and amazing star gazing). Playa Giones is a short 10 minute car ride away for more restaurants and shops. And, you can catch a boat for a fishing trip right there on the beach. We did several excursions, but also entertained ourselves in the water by body surfing and boogie boarding. The waves at Garza are tame enough for recreational swimming -- occasionally, the waves were good enough for actual surfing. But Guiones and its big surf was so close, it's not a big deal to travel where you want. Plaza Garza is VERY clean. Clean beach, clean water, no signs of pollution, jelly fish, etc. It's a PERFECT beach! We are still dreaming about this place and need to figure out when we can return. A couple of things we noted for future travelers: Bring ear plugs if road noise or high wind noise bothers you. We had a couple of very windy nights at the house with almonds/coconuts falling on the tin roof most of the night. Also, the house is right off the village road, and rush hour in Costa Rica is much earlier than in the U.S. (think, 5:30a.m.). Since the house is open-air, all of these sounds travel right into the house. Also, bring plenty of sunscreen if you don't want to fry (we ran out of sunscreen on the last day -- oops!). Ginger -- We will be back!"

  • A piece of heaven

"We were a group of 8 women, over 60, who were looking for something a little different from your normal Caribbean vacation. We definitely found it in Costa Rica and at Villa Encantada. This villa is unbelievable. It is so comfortable, settling in is easy, yet had the air of a resort. The house is wonderful and the grounds indescribable. We had our very own pool, complete with water slide, and our own island in the middle of a pond stocked with fish. There are trails throughout the 40 acre properly and even waterfalls. The 2 resident peacocks greeted us upon arrival and visited us daily. We loved hearing the howler monkeys 'barking' every morning, reminding us we were surrounded by the jungle. We ventured out a few days during our week to go to a spa, go zip lining, and on a boat tour of Lake Arenal, but really would have been happy to just stay at the villa. This house would also be good for children of all ages. During our week, we had the pleasure of having Chef Natalie cook dinner for us 3 times. She was wonderful. The food was great and quite inexpensive. Her presentation was fabulous. Most of Natalie's food was homegrown, organic and as fresh as it gets. We truly experienced "farm to table". She brings a helper and they do everything, including clean-up. We cannot say enough about Glenn, the owner of the property. He was just a phone call away at all times and always checked on us after one of our excursions. We feel like we truly made a new friend in Glenn. Even during our planning stages, months before, he never hesitated to answer the many questions we had. Thanks Glenn, for everything."

  • Peaceful Paradise

"We found this condo the perfect place for us. It really is ideal for two couples and we loved everything about it. The ground floor was actually nice and convenient to the pool and BBQ (which we used frequently). We didn't miss being on the top floor having an ocean view. We felt almost like we had a private pool as it was never busy, we always managed to find lounge chairs when we needed. The condo itself is extremely spacious and well equipped (aside from perhaps a few kitchen tools and another lounge chair on the patio) and we found it more than adequate for our 12 day stay. We really liked the location in the area as well, close to all the beautiful beaches up and down the coast as well as the activities we wanted to do and the towns of Tamarindo and Santa Clara weren't too far away. I enjoyed all the wildlife we saw (and heard) but a bird feeder would have thrilled me to enjoy watching with my morning coffee. Barbara was always willing to answer questions and make suggestions and the grounds were immaculate (thanks Rudy). We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home base to enjoy Costa Ricas beauty and culture from. Iquana, Gekko's, Birds, Dogs, Howler monkeys, Lizards, and Giant Grasshoppers made exploring the area around the condo lots of fun (not to mention the amazing, diverse beaches closeby)"

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
