"We visited Casa Colibri and Samara in June 2014 with our entire family ranging from age 5 to 75. The house is beautiful, beds are comfortable and the view is amazing! I truly miss waking up to beautiful sunrises and to the sound of the howler monkeys. We prepared most of our meals at home and spent the days enjoying Samara and the surrounding areas. Four in our group attended the local Spanish immersion school and found the experience extremely valuable. In addition to the Spanish classes, we rode horses, hiked in the beautiful reserve behind the house, kayaked, fished in the ocean and enjoyed the zip lines. Mary Ellen was extremely helpful and was quick to answer our questions and provide us all the guidance we would need to navigate around the area. I do have to say that Daniel, the on-site caretaker is a gem. He was there to help us with any questions or problem that we encountered. For example, one morning we had a flat tire - as we were attempting to put on the spare, he asked us to wait since he had all of the tools to repair our tire at his disposal. That saved us an entire day of our vacation. On numerous occasions, Daniel went out of his way to make sure that our vacation was a memorable and enjoyable experience. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again."Guest: Roseanne B. Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 28, 2014View listing
"We were two families looking for a quick getaway from our own vacation rental condo in Jaco, Costa Rica. The condo is beautifully decorated and very spacious. This place was paradise -- with beautiful views of the golf course, wild life and amazing sunsets. The property has access to the beach club, which boasts the largest swimming pool in Central America. There are also fun activities by the pool for kids: ping pong, pool table, etc. Also, there is a convenient free shuttle from the condo to the beach. On the beach we found a 60 minute massage for only $20 look for "Massage by Gigi" on TripAdvisor -- what a deal! The little town next to the resort is a three minute drive from the property and had some amazing seafood at reasonable prices. One last item, we always felt safe as the property is in a gated community with 24/7 security. We highly recommend a visit to Playa Conchal and have already been recommending this place to our friends. Thanks Ron, for all your help, we can't wait to come back!"Guest: Kelly B. "This was the perfect home for a wonderful family vacation. We walked the beach, swam in the pool (brought swim toys from home, there were a few at the house too!), ate at The Beach House & El Coconut, shopped at the near-by store (within walking distance) and did three events: fishing, zip-lining & a jungle river trip. It was so perfect I can't say enough. I loved the bread & fish trucks that drove up and sold to us right at the door. We had massages on the front lawn. I have three children ages 4,8 & 12 and we always felt safe and the home was always so well taken care of while we were there. The beach was safe (no strong undertow) and still had waves that were fun. We collected shells and had an amazing camp fire one night. I would very highly recommend this home. It was pure delight. Everything was clean, beautiful and just what we needed for a wonderful week as a family."Guest: Liza Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: May 12, 2014View listing
"We rented this beautiful Costa Rican home for a week in August and could not have been happier with our choice. The location was exactly what I was after....peaceful retreat with a pool and on the beach, in a good central location in Playas Del Coco from which we could explore when and if we wanted to do so. There were only three of us but the location and property were right so we did it and are glad that we did. The house is plenty big enough for many more people to stay and have privacy. Because of the way the rooms are situated the property may not be the best choice if you have very young children that you would wan to have in their own room.....they could sleep in the loft area of the second floor outside of the master bedroom I guess but otherwise it would be difficult to have them near you. The photos are accurate. The house is well kept and clean. I will note because it may be important to some - there was only 1 TV, no DVD player, and no iron. We did not ask because we did not miss them beyond noticing that they were listed but not at the property. Unless you want to stay put, you really should rent a car or have some form of transportation...not that the town or other services are so far but in the heat even the .5km walk to a very small, not full service market would be a chore- not what I want on vacation. The main down is maybe 1.5-2km from the house. The beach is peaceful and beautiful. The sand is clean and free of rocks. The water is clear. The pool was perfect size and refreshing. We would absolutely stay here again."Guest: JohnFromCT Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 20, 2014View listing
Guanacaste Travel Tips
Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica
If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.
Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions
All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!
Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture
As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.
The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals
Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
