  • Our favorite place to stay

"Jeanie and I have been coming to Costa Rica almost every year for the past decade to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have stayed at a number of Guanacaste resorts and visited several others. Ocotal is our favorite beach, and Los Almendros de Ocotal is our favorite place to stay. This year we stayed at a condo on the front row that had excellent reviews posted on VRBO. The reviews were right on the mark. Our condo was well equipped and only a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. An earlier review listed a number of local restaurants. We are not familiar with all of the restaurants listed, but we agree with the reviewer's overall assessment...we too have never had a bad meal in Costa Rica. In Ocotal, both Father Rooster's and Ocotal Beach Resort are excellent restaurants. The restaurant at Ocotal Beach Resort is up on a bluff, and may be the best place in the area to watch Costa Rica's beautiful sunsets. Ocotal Beach and the rear terrace of our condo also provided excellent sunset views. Picante's is another Ocotal restaurant that offers good food and beautiful ocean views. Our rental unit had a nice BBQ unit out front. We purchased charcoal, lighter fluid and fresh seafood in Coco. We grilled the fish and enjoyed a fantastic home cooked meal. At night the air-conditioned bedrooms are very comfortable. However, our condo had ceiling fans and secure screen doors that enabled Jeanie and I to go to sleep listening to the ocean surf and enjoying the comfortable breeze that comes off the ocean in the evening."

  • The cow crosses the road

"Costa Rica was just what the doctor ordered. Our family trip included some awesome adventures ( white water rafting & zip lining across the jungle), balanced out by some time at the pool, beach, spa & golf course. We arranged our trips through Tamarindo transfers & tours, and they were wonderful with everything. Prompt, courteous, friendly. We had the same driver( Rodolfo) for all of our trips and he became part of the "family". The location of the property was ideal, close to many amazing restaurants, beach & nearby supermarket( to stock up on some breakfast items, coffee & beverages). Most within a short walk or cab ride. While dining at one of local beachfront restaurants( Nogus), a cow walked on the path through the restaurant. The four of us were amazed, like he knew where he was going. We enjoyed coffee on the patio most most mornings & after dinner drinks in the evening. The owner of the property provided a thorough description of activities, restaurants & places of interest to visit, so it was a wonderful resource for a first timer at the property. Plenty of space for the family, and had almost everything you needed( I forgot a hairdryer). Plenty of lounge chairs at the pool, and we were able to rent chairs/umbrellas at the beach for a nominal fee. Wish we had more time to try some of the other restaurants & cute little coffee shops around town. Hope we can get back soon!!"

  • wonderful view, amazing weather -lovely accommodations

"We recently stayed 10 days at Playa del Coco, the luxury condo is certainly that, very nice, love the 2 master suites with large baths- great for 2 couples. We were a little disappointed in the distance from the beach club and the actual beach. It is quite a walk, very steep grade and in the heat you must be prepared for it. We are all quite healthy in great shape and found it to be a tough go, especially in the heat. A car is a must- we ended up driving down to the beach club and pretty much everywhere else. The beaches we visited were very beautiful and we found the areas safe, food was a pleasant surprise (we had been told it was not that great) The staff at the beach club could speak no english except for one- she was extremely helpful. We were the only tenants in the building- slightly odd, we thought. Not as busy as one might have thought. We enjoyed the condo, very modern and well appointed, only 1 wine glass though!! LOL that was not enough- we purchased our own!!"

"We stayed at this vacation house for five days and absolutely loved it. It was completely accurate with the pictures from the website. The house is right on the water and has nice clean beaches, great for romantic walks and to watch the sunset. All the bedrooms come with working A/C. the maid service was awesome the girls kept are stuff clean and organized throughout our stay. The owner came by and showed around the town. He showed some of the best surf and snorkel spot. As well as where to eat and was able to lets get into the big resorts and allowed to use their pool and hot tub. He was able to get us some great deals at restaurants, pools and spas, and other activities such as surfing and snorkeling. This property is highly recommended for families and active or lazy groups. it really has it all."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
