  • Pura Vida

"Casa Limon exceeded our high expectations. As others have said, the architecture is spectacular and the place is laid out beautifully. The kitchen makes you want to cook, and the dining room makes you want to dine in. That being said there are many great choices for eating out. The whole fish at Locanda on the beach was probably our favorite. Ma Ma Gui's makes the best thin crust pizza we've ever had. We arranged with Gerardo(the on site caretaker) via email to have his sister Lleana make a special dinner for us. Lleana made a delicious, gourmet, 4 course meal for us. We also arranged ahead of time for the 5 of us to have massages with Tod, Casa Limon's massuse. All 5 of us were impressed with his skill and knowledge and wanted more. We managed to get in 2 more hours of massage for 2 lucky family memebers. As others have said, it was really nice to have Gerardo nearby. One day the wifi wasn't working and he knew just how to reboot it, our sons wanted to rent surfboards on New Years Day and Gerardo just happened to have 2 surfboards they could rent, and he helped them tie it to the top of the jeep. I wouldn't have know that Jinny the housekeeper was there because she is so unobtusive, except that the house looked cleaner. With 5 adults it was really nice to have the option of walking to and from town even though we had a jeep. Everybody could come and go as they pleased for yoga classes on the beach, or surfing at the best time, or catching lunch at the bohemian cafe (a favorite of our crowd), etc. I musn't forget to say something about the pool. I didn't realize that the dining room/family room is totally open to the outside and thus the pool. We had an 18 month old with us and I panicked when I first realized it was all open. As it turns out the pool with it's steps entertained our grand daughter for hours every day , and it wasn't a problem at all because with an 18 month old you pretty much need to have somebody supervising their movement all the time anyway. We did feel that it would not be a place for 2 non swimming toddlers, but luckily we just had one with us. As you can tell from the pics there are some boulders that separate the pool area and it was easy to separate patio time from pool time. Rich, the owner was real helpful and easy to communicate with via email. I could go on and on, it's true Pura Vida!"

  • Simply fabulous!

"We have just returned from Casa Pericos to NY and all I keep thinking about is "when can I return". Myself and my four adult children stayed for eight nights. It was just the perfect accommodation for us all to have our own rooms and a wonderful deck to relax on in the noon day heat, and to watch the spectacular sunsets. It was very clean and very comfortable. Very true to description. David, the owner was easy to communicate with; timely in responses and very helpful with advanced information which made our trip in a rented car from Liberia International Airport effortless. Nick, the property manager, who met us at the house was a delight in all ways. A generous, helpful, pleasant person who left us alone to our holiday but was easily accessible if needed. In fact, my son left his passport behind and Nick took care of it without fuss and without stress. Most mornings were spent taking the walk to the beach (5mins), swimming and walking the quiet crescent. A lovely way to start the day. In the afternoon it was rest in the warm, hot sun. Listening to the howlers, spotting the iguanas, and marveling at the diversity of plants and trees; animals and birds. Later afternoon was back to the beach, watching the sunset (around 5.30pm) and more swimming. All the restaurants we ate at were wonderful. All previously recommended by David in the packet he sent prior to our arrival. Shopping in town was simple and we were able to make delicious fresh meals on the barbecue on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to manage. We went on a hike with Alvaro at Werner Sauter Biological Preserve which should not be missed. It was informative and fun and it seems that Alvaro himself is well known for his warmth and kindness within the town and on trip advisor. He lived up to his reputation. We sampled the foods native to the forrest and he even convinced one of us to try termite. We took a boat trip out with Samara Adventures and were delighted to see awe inspiring sightings of humback whales and beautiful fish snorkeling in the reef. Again, the staff were such a pleasure to spend time with. Leaving Playa Carillio which is very tranquil, to go to Samara was also fun. It was more lively with bars and restaurants on the beach and with many places to shop, internet cafes, and lots of different adventure pursuits to choose from. All in all, I would struggle to find any negative thing to say. It was perfect"

  • Fantastic B&B - Could not of have asked for more!!

"Twin Dolphins B&B with Mike and Irma as our hosts was truly exceptional! My husband and 15 year old son enjoyed the accommodations immensely. The penthouse room was unbelievable - large; breath taking views and very clean. The breakfasts each morning were exceptional- we loved the fresh fruit and all the delicious food prepared for us! Mike's guidance and recommendations were invaluable to help make our stay in Potrero a fantastic one! We loved learning more about Costa Rica and Mike was fabulous at answering all our questions! There were plenty of local restaurants close by that were fabulous! We would recommend renting a golf cart at Surfside Rentals if you don't have a rental car to get around. Thanks again Mike and Irma - Look forward to our next visit! Pura Vida Jeff, Tammy and Nicholas Swan River, Manitoba Canada"

  • A hidden gem with Lake access!

"We, a party of 6, stayed at Stephanie and Ron's beautiful gem for a total of 13 nights. We loved the layout and space available to us, especially the big living room/kitchen area and the deck. Getting to it at night can be challenging since the "Turtle Cove" sign is partially damaged. Jorge, the property manager, was kind enough to wait for our delayed arrival because we got lost a few times. :) Unfortunately, the weather wasn't that great but the never-ending winds were just right for the die-hart windsurfers amongst us. It's important though to let new tenants know that the road to the property is a dirt road so that people can make decisions about the type of car and car insurance to get when coming to stay here. Nevertheless, it was an okay enough road with a regular car. Thank you again, Stephanie and Ron, for letting us stay at your beautiful property! We would definitely recommend this place this to others who want to stay near Ticowinds or who do not mind driving 45 min to see the volcano, go on hikes, or enjoy the hot springs."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
