  • A Return to Love

"My husband & I planned a short trip to Costa Rica and this was the perfect place for us. I wanted to spend time walking on the beach and holding hands. We walked a 2 mile section of the beach and never saw more than 6 people. I have some wonderful sunset photos that I will treasure forever. Gary and his staff were so helpful during our stay and when I left behind my cash and driver's license he sent an email to inform me. THANK YOU We had a wonderful time!"

"WOW! When my two children and their 6 friends booked me a 50th Birthday VACATION in Costa Rica..I will admit I was abit apprehensive as to what or where we would be staying and what kind of adventure they had in store for me. They couldn't have done a better job with the home rental. Costa Rica in itself is a beautiful place but having a warm and welcoming home to reside in while we were there was simply comforting. Tom, the owner made us feel so very welcome and was such a help at arranging and offering local information to us. Trust me you need all the local help you can get!....Having a trusting local made it easier to travel about the country at ease. The home is magnificent ... he placed such thought into detail when building this house. The dragonfly inlet tiles, the copper sinks, teak wood details throughout the home and property, AIR CONDITIONING!!!!, a must see for yourself property. Its a hide away in the canopy of the jungles of Costa Rica. Walking to everything you need, beaches and great food!!!! We were introduced to locals to whom we became friends with throughout the duration of our stay and hope to remain framily for many years. If you want a true Costa Rica experience without all the hussle and bussle of the tourists areas...check this place out....become one with the sounds and smells of the country. Amazing trip....we will return, and when we do it will be at the home of Tom."

"My wife, daughter and a her friend stayed here for 2 weeks this last winter. We had a lovely time and this place was everything that was advertised and more. Very well maintained. Freddy was not only a great caretaker but became a good friend. He made sure we were happy with everything. We really enjoyed the horses and riding on the beach and through the forest. I simply cannot say enough good about this place. If you choose to go here you will not be disappointed."

  • Staying in Costa Rica? Look no further!

"Casa Las Nubes is an epic vacation destination. The fact that Daryl and Michael have successfully built such an astonishing house in Costa Rica is impressive, but that they are willing to share it with the HomeAway community is even more so. The entire experience from first contact with the owners to the last day of our stay was remarkable. Danny and David (the property's caretakers) answered any questions we had and gave advice on what to do and see. Danny works incredibly hard to make sure the grounds around the house are well cared for. He even came to get us when the monkeys were lounging in the trees on the property (he knew I was searching for them). The house itself is an architectural gem surrounded by the natural beauty of unspoiled tropical forest. If you appreciate clean architecture, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a more spectacular home in Costa Rica. Since the guesthouse is just a few steps down from the pool, it does not feel isolated or split off from the rest of the home. The outdoor showers are brilliant, and the guesthouse comes fully equipped with a blender for making some fresh fruit cocktails! Daryl and Michael only rent out the guesthouse when no one is staying in the main home, so it truly feels like you have rented the entire campus. The pool is massive and forms a large "L" shape right at the corner of the hill, providing massive views. There is even a terraced section of the pool that runs the length of the home's main living room, and a conveniently located outdoor shower and bathroom. This area of the home is so surreal that you may not want to leave the property at all. However, if you do decide to explore, here are some of our favorite things to visit: Best Beach - Carillo (~35-40 minutes away, beautiful and very few visitors) Best Restaurant - El Colibri (located in Carillo, Argentinian grill) Best Soda - La Cuchara (short walk from the house, delicious Costa Rican food) Best Grocery Store - the supermarket in Nicoya (short drive away and fully stocked). Overall, we fell in love with Costa Rica, but admittedly we love Casa Las Nubes even more. We can't wait to come back! -Steven and Katie P.S. We drove from San Jose, which was straightforward and easy, but I highly recommend flying to Liberia to save yourself a few hours of driving."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
