  • Perfect house! Gracious hosts!

"We have returned to Playa Langosta this year with our children and loves it even more. OUr hosts, Claudia and Samuel have been helpful in many ways and always available for us. The pool is private, the area very quiet, except for the howler monkeys at sunset...which we spent at the beach with our sunset drink every night, always spectacular and magical. The house is well maintain and the terrace is covered from the sun and this is where we spent most of our week, even convenient for my husband to take his email daily... Thank you again! S."

  • The view, the location and the quiet setting make is 5-stars

"The Sunset House has a spectacular view, great proximity to conveniences in Playas del Coco (i.e. the nice supermarket and veggie/fruit market), and is in a very quiet private and secure residential neighborhood. We really enjoyed the pool from sunrise to sunsets (and what a sunset it is!). The kitchen is well equipped. We had some minor problems with the dish washer leaking and the Manager had that fixed. We grilled out a lot, and if you plan to as well be sure to check to see if you have a full gas tank for the grill. Ours ran out and it was a Sunday so we had to wait for a refill. The neighbor was away and their dog was left out and yelped incessantly one night through. Hopefully you won't have to suffer through that. We hope to visit the Sunset House again soon. Our three-year old refers to it as "our new house"... what more is there to say than that!"

  • Our family celebration

"After being married 50 years, we chose to celebrate with our family and a trip to Costa Rica. The ages of our family are from 75 to 16. Joan, thank you for a wonderful home and the top expression that I have is WONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY. The property is described beautifully but as anyone knows pictures can't possibly capture the true beauty of the place. We had every expectation met from arrival to departure. We have already recommended this place to several and one friend has already reserved it for next summer. Tomas and Janet are more than wonderful. They were helpful for our needs there; they cooked fabulous meals for us (please get them to cook, you won't be disappointed. His guacamole is the best of the best), kept the place clean and neat, helped us with details of going in and out and were so pleasant to talk with. Joan, you have a definite gold mine with those two. Dervin scheduled the things we wanted to do and he is wonderful also. Don't use anyone else but Dervin. I suggest that you fish early in the stay so that you are able to bring your catch home for Janet and Tomas to cook. Our son in laws and grand sons went fishing and caught 4 sail fish and 1 Mahi Mahi. It was a super trip for them and their first to catch bill fish. At 74 I did the zip line and am so sad I hadn't done it long before now. The different beaches are great to relax and play. The catamaran sunset sail and snorkeling trip was perfect for our last evening there. Whatever you want to do, Dervin is the man to schedule it. Thanks Joan for your fabulous home and the great time we had there. We want to come again."

  • Wonderful vacation spot

"This guesthouse was perfect for our 9 days in Costa Rica. Nan and Paul (the owners) are right next door and provided us with information on trips, restaurants and activities. Nan and Paul are also wonderful trustworthy people who really care about their guests. The guesthouse is clean, spacious and a perfect location to sit outside in the mornings and listen to (and see) birds, monkeys and sounds of the jungle. We felt right at home. We would suggest renting a car because this location is a great jumping off point to other "playas," towns, hikes and adventures (which Nan and Paul will help you choose). We rented from POAS and they delivered the car to us for no extra charge (and they are right across the street from the airport for the trip back). Kayaking, walking on the beach, good restaurants, and swimming in the ocean are all right there. We visited Playa Panama, Tamarindo, Guaticil, Arenal and had great experiences at each. We would recommend Roberto's (Playa Hermosa), Mangrove (Playa Panama) and Father Roosters as great restaurants - all on the beaches. We wouldn't have found them without Nan and Paul. Can't say enough about the wonderful experiences we had that were launched from this guesthouse. Be sure to go. Our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough, another 4 or 5 days would have been even more perfect. We would highly recommend this guesthouse and Nan and Paul as owners."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
