  • Great week in quiet Playa San Miguel

"My wife and I spent a great week at Veramar in Playa San Miguel, joined by another couple. Miguel's house is an architectural marvel in it's quality and simplicity. Only what is needed, and almost everything is excellent quality. Harwood shelves eliminate the need for cabinets, and make the 800 square feet fell a bit bigger. They also facilitate cleaning, and reduce the chance that something will be left behind. The house sleeps 4 comfortably, with a queen sized bed in the air conditioned upstairs, and 2 twin beds (each with a trundle underneath) in the fan-cooled downstairs, which includes a small kitchen area. The upstairs is spacious enough to have 2 wicker chairs to relax in comfort. We did yoga, 2 at a time, with our mats on the beautiful hardwood floors. The downstairs has cool, practical tile flooring. The kitchen is extremely basic, with a hotplate, microwave, small refrigerator, and sink. That said, there are enough restaurants in the area to reduce kitchen needs to snacks and drinks. A nice french press coffee maker was essential for our early mornings. Our days were spent on the beautiful lawn at the edge of the beach, in the shade of the palm trees. The dark sand gets incredibly hot, so lounging on the beach can get uncomfortable. The lawn is lush, well maintained, and comfortable. The only amenity missing is some lightweight adirondack chairs or lounge chairs to use on the lawn. The chairs from the patio worked OK. When we visited, there was only one restaurant within walking distance: Locos Cocos. It's a super-relaxed place with good food and a friendly owner (Henner). The seating is on picnic tables and custom-made tables under canopies, all outside of a shipping container repurposed as a kitchen. This is a place we highly recommend. Go early, as they usually close between 6 and 7pm. Dominga's breakfast and lunch, which she delivers to you at your request, is the best. In 6 days, we had 5 breakfasts and a lunch. All were wonderful quality, large quantity, and inexpensive. Dinners were also great at Los Corrales, in nearby Pueblo Nuevo (Denise is a great cook, and super friendly). The ceviche was the best I've had. If a unique atmosphere is what you are looking for, Pizza Tree is the place, in nearby Javilla. You will literally dine in a treehouse on Italian food prepared by Italian expats. Very cool place, with the added benefit that they are open until at least 9PM, and theoretically until 10pm."

  • Great condo with excellent facilities near Playa Conchal

"A well supplied condo with excellent kitchen facilities, comfortable beds and a deck with a hammock and a beautiful view. We loved the 10 minute walk to the less populated part of Playa Conchal, a great swimming beach."

  • Excellent condo

"My husband, two sons (18, 20) and I enjoyed a week long stay at this condo between Christmas and New Years. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped and conveniently located a short walk from the beach. The property was secure and the other residents were friendly. Corby was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations for activities. One day as we sat by the pool a howler monkey came down from the trees and we got a really good look at it. Playa Hermosa is a nice beach and not too busy. We highly recommend this condo as a perfect location from which to enjoy all the activities in this part of Costa Rica."

  • The Best!!

"This was my 6th trip to Costa Rica, and Rancho Playa Negra is the best place to be, and Casa Luna de Miel is the best home to be in. It's luxury living in a beautiful, quiet, secluded part of the world. The house is better than the pictures, beautifully furnished and very secure. Our sunset horseback ride began at our house; we visited the community of Guaitil, with its amazing pottery, after a 40 minute drive of spectacular beauty. The local restaurants are wonderful (arroz con pollo was my favorite), with offerings to satisfy anyone's taste. Tamarindo is a nearby city for lunch and good shopping (but too "busy" to stay in). Jarrod and Meaghan are terrific down-to-earth hosts who are always available to answer questions and offer advice. We spent a lot of time at this incredible house, walking the beautiful grounds of Rancho Playa Negra, and it's beaches and tidal pools. We left totally relaxed, and looking forward to returning next year to another perfect week!"

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
