  • Family getaway to Tamarindo

"We stayed at Ibis #8 for 2 weeks, from Jan 4-18th. As other reviewers have pointed out, the unit itself is very well appointed with high-end appliances, sturdy furniture and all of the modern conveniences one would expect from an upscale condo. The condo itself does not have any amenities onsite (pool, gym, etc.) - these are located directly across the street at the Langosta Beach Club. Ibis guests have full access; the club is also features one of the nicer restaurants in the area. This is the quieter, more scenic section of Tamarindo beach, which may appeal to those seeking a slower pace. Sebastian (the concierge) was very friendly and approachable. He always greeted us with a warm smile and was great with our kids. Bob handled a few issues that came up and he took care of them promptly. The security/groundskeepers/housekeepers were all very friendly and helpful. One of them kindly fixed a broken strap on our luggage, which we really appreciated. The crew at the Langosta Beach Club were also very fun and energetic. Some might find the location a bit remote (you will need to drive or walk 5-7 mins to get to Tamarindo, down a busy dirt road with no sidewalks) but we liked the fact that it was quiet and relatively secluded. We were a bit disappointed with the dust and road noise that came from the adjacent Langosta Road. Apparently a paving project is imminent, so the dust issue may be addressed soon. Nevertheless, if you are a light sleeper, I would suggest looking for a unit facing the rear of the building, which faces the Tamarindo Preserve. The unit boasts comfy beds, a pull-out sofa sleeper, nice plumbing fixtures, tasteful decorating, modern appliances and three separate decks. The WiFi is not particularly strong - barely enough for Netflix, fine for e-mail and social networking. There is no VoIP line in the unit, so you will need to rely on mobile or Skype for making calls. Overall, this unit served us well and we were not disappointed. We would recommend it to others, seeking a quieter location in an small & modern building."

  • My point of view

"Jane, your Condo is really nice. My family and me had gone many home away or luxury retreats through the years. The furniture is nice, the architecture is nice but, there are many buts: Towels were worst than in a Motel 6 Pool rules (obviously) forbids glass but your condo has nothing plastic (should I think about it and carry them from my city of residence) Better if you don't put those awful soaps, they are the worst soap bars ever Water pressure in the showers is terrible, my youngest daughter thought her showers wasn't working. Have you noticed there is NO street outside the condo and that basically Tamarindo beach has only two or three paved roads? I think that should be written somewhere, I mean, we really go to this kind of home away because we believe what you review of your own place. Linen are older than me (I'm 46) and stained (really don't want to know what stained them) Toaster was broken (but promptly changed, but try to eat costarrican bread without a toaster, it's like chewing bread). Scissors might be useful in the kitchen, like at your actual house Overall: nice condo cheap amenities Return: only if we get 90% discount and free flight tickets, this is not from the condo but from the hole area. God forgot completely of Tamarindo beach in Guanacaste, almost 4 hours away from awful city of San Jose"

  • great family trip

"We had two families (10 people) that shared this house for a week. It was a beautiful and spacious house and the kids (ranging from 9 yo to 16 yo) absolutely loved it. The outdoor pool area and outdoor kitchen are really nice but we didn't use them much because it was really windy the entire time we were there. There were a couple minor plumbing issues and things that didn't work but the manager Royce was really responsive. He was also a great resource for surfboard rentals and general information about the area. We saw him out in the surf a lot and he and his wife were very friendly; even bringing us a gift of his tasty Ricante hot sauce. The house is not walking distance to the beach but it's a short drive to the Beach Club right on the sand where you can hang out all day, use the pools, showers, eat and drink at the restaurant and bar. My 9 year old loved the house so much he wanted to spend an entire day there and not go to the beach. The Hacienda Pinilla complex is great. There is a JW Marriott on property which is good for dining and several beaches and great surf breaks nearby. For families that want nice accommodations in a tropical locale with great surf this is a good option."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
