  • Lovely House Great location

"On my 3rd trip to Playa Grande, my friend and I (60 something women) took our 9 twenty-something kids for a weeklong break from the cold Northeast Everybody loved Casa Kalumina. Elisa, the rental agent, is local and was there to help us activate the wireless internet and assist with any need. The house is close to the beach, local market and restaurants as well as the water taxi to Tamarindo. We are booking for next year already"

  • Just Wonderful!

"From the moment we entered the parking area we knew we had made the right decision. The architecture of the condos is beautiful and the common areas are so inviting! Two pools, one with infinity edge looking out over a beach so scarcely populated we thought it was private. Our kids, 9,11 and 14 had a blast exploring the beach and boogie boarding. The inside of the unit was nicely decorated, kitchen well equipped and bathrooms are plentiful and up- to- date. The master suite was to die for. Mornings on the patio are a must. The service at the pool was so attentive; delicious drinks and dry towels always available. If you like massages ask for Janet, she's a master. For us everything was perfect and we hated to leave."

  • Family Vacation July 2014

"My wife and I stayed here with our 4 kids first part of July for a week (then spending a few days in Panama City before heading back to L.A.). Visiting during this time of the year I think is better than the high season (December to March or so); because of the lack of rain, everything is much drier-looking I was told. It was very green when we visited, and didn't rain as we thought it might. Plus, there were fewer vacationers (good). In brief, we had a wonderful time! The condo is as lovely as it looks in the photos, while the views are actually better in person. We did a lot of relaxing (the wife and kids stayed in the pools), grilling (including burgers and hot dogs on the 4th), and went on a fishing trip and visits to secluded beaches (by boat). We brought some of the fish back and grilled it (tasty, but boney). The condo served as a nice jumping off point for excursions to Rincon de la Vieja. There's not much in Playa Hermosa (good for us), but Playa Coco was bigger and had a great North American style market. The people were very friendly, and I was able to get by on my limited Spanish (not to many English speakers among the Ticos). Of course, my wife is fluent, so there's that. This area is still very rural, although within the next few years they will be at least one new resort next door, plus other buildings near by (I heard more than one local gringo in the supermercado talking about new roads popping up near their homes). Several celebs apparently have homes on the peninsula across the gulf. So, go now before it loses its quiet, rural aura. Thanks to Daryl, John, Faith (property managers), and of course Susan We'll be back!"

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
